Not open for further replies.
A) what is the worst meal you have had at WDW? (any associted warnings)
Hmm, even though it's one of my favorites, it's also been the worst a couple times, 'Ohana. We've had bad service twice (unfortunately both times with Cindy), but the food is always good.
B) What was the best thing a CM ever went way out of their way to do special for you...
On our very first cruise, we forgot our formalwear in the closet at the Hilton next to DD. We didn't realize until we were sitting at lunch at Parrot Cay. Chris went down to GS and the CMs promised that they would either get our clothes to the ship, or ship them to Key West. They arrived in our room right before we were leaving for the safety drill.
C) What is your favorite attraction (in each park, and if it is still too hard, in each land)
Magic Kingdom: Buzz & Pirates
Epcot: Soarin' & Test Track
MGM Studios: Rockin' Roller Coaster & Tower of Terror
Animal Kingdom: Expedition: Everest & Festival of the Lion King

D) Rental Car or Disney Transport
Our own car!!
E) Have you ever Pool Hopped? if so, please tell us
Only once to SSR while staying at OKW, just to visit SSR.
F) What is your favorite place on the Wonder/Magic?
Palo
G) After your initial purchase, how often do you speak to your guide?
Our original guide is no longer there, but our new guide did do our add-on. We tried to stop by to see him a few times, but he was always off when we were there.
H) Dole Whips,Mickey Bars, and other treats... what is your favorite snack?
Dole Whips & the old Hercules/Goofy ice cream bars with the caramel.
I) Are you going to buy more points on the cruise?
I would love to, but we'll see the finances at the time.

Ha - I beat Karen in posting. :thumbsup2

Ok here we go - Round Two...

A) what is the worst meal you have had at WDW? (any associated warnings)
Character Breakfast at Crystal Palace - Overpriced, undercooked food. Worst meal at the World to date. Love the Characters (see signature) but will be LONG time before we repeat (if ever).

B) What was the best thing a CM ever went way out of their way to do special for you...
On my birthday we were at AK. We were on the Safari when we were lucky enough to get first bench on the truck. (Yes I was wearing a "It's my birthday button") The CM driving went OUT OF HER WAY to include me in the whole Safari spiel, going so far as to ask me which way we should go to cut off the poachers, etc. It was really special.

C) What is your favorite attraction (in each park, and if it is still too hard, in each land)
Magic Kingdom Frontierland....Splash Mountain
Tomorrowland..Buzz Lightyear
Adventureland...Pirates (I want the Redhead)
Fantasyland....Peter Pan

Epcot..............Test Track (Reminds me of Detroit e-way driving I-696)
AK...................EVEREST BABY!!
MGM................Take me to the TOWER!!

D) Rental Car or Disney Transport
Disney's Magical Express FOREVER (Willingly paid for Mears before that)

E) Have you ever Pool Hopped? if so, please tell us
No need to.

F) What is your favorite place on the Wonder/Magic?
Paolo was pretty special - I'll kill for the soufflé again. But we spend the majority of our time all over the ship. Adult pool, the movies, shopping...

G) After your initial purchase, how often do you speak to your guide?
Doug Rapp - Have never spoken to the fine man again. (Just in case - NO OFFENSE DOUG!!)

H) Dole Whips, Mickey Bars, and other treats... what is your favorite snack?
The slushy drink in Italy, right before ILLUMINATIONS! (Have to get Karen a Margarita from the Mexico stand)

I) Are you going to buy more points on the cruise?
Please refer back to my comment about winning the $187m in the Big Game lottery. Sometime down the road we will be picking up 80 more points for an even 500. This appeases the anal tendencies of DW (don’t ask!!)

Ready for round three.... Anyone?

Hi Julie!! Good to see you!!

3. If you had a chance to spend a night at any Disney park (ala Magic Kingdom during Member Homecoming with the park holding only 2000 or so DISers) which park would you choose and why? MGM - it is our favorite, hence why the wedding reception is there.

Julie, how do you have a wedding reception at MGM? Not that I personally ever will, but is there a location that they have it at? I'm really curious as I have no clue as to how a fairy tale wedding is done.

A few notes:
A DVC member cruise item from Last week. Every year my congregation holds a womens passover seder. This year we had a guest playing the keyboard for Dayenu, I asked my Cantor who it was on Friday. It turns out it was Carol Stein, which I thought was very cool.

If you read this weeks all ears newsletter, I'm infamous! I wrote to All ears regarding a Passover meal I had at Disney last year.

A) what is the worst meal you have had at WDW? (any associted warnings)
The Brisket meal ( the one I had last year for passover.)

B) What was the best thing a CM ever went way out of their way to do special for you...
Shannon at the Beach Club, helped me so much with a birthday suprise for Todd and also helped that we had an awesome room.

C) What is your favorite attraction (in each park, and if it is still too hard, in each land) Too many Favorites, Backlot tour, Norway ride, Safari and The train an MK to name a few

D) Rental Car or Disney Transport
What about using your own car??

E) Have you ever Pool Hopped? if so, please tell us
No.

F) What is your favorite place on the Wonder/Magic?
The lounge next to the cpu lab.

G) After your initial purchase, how often do you speak to your guide?
I called her after we added on (during the cruise) to ask questions, she was great!

H) Dole Whips,Mickey Bars, and other treats... what is your favorite snack?
Sorbet, popcorn

I) Are you going to buy more points on the cruise?
No

A) what is the worst meal you have had at WDW? (any associted warnings)
Breakfast at Crystal Palace (Sorry, Amy!). The restaurant is beautiful, and the characters were great pooh: :eeyore: , but the food was less than wonderful, it was overpriced (IMHO), and our waiter was a bit of a jerk.

B) What was the best thing a CM ever went way out of their way to do special for you...
This one is hard - I can think of three choices! Okay... one. On our back-to-back cruises, we were treated like royalty by our server, Banjong, and the head server, Gabby (we ended up requesting them on the second of the two cruises, being so impressed on the first one). On the second cruise, they decided to make us the "Magical Family", and present us (in Parrot Cay) with a certificate and a special desert. Unfortunately, earlier that day, we were informed by my friend/veterinarian that my absolute favorite cat had died, very unexpectedly. I was beyond devastated. They practically cried with me, gave us the certificate very quietly, and had the desert sent to our room. They were wonderful, wonderful people. :goodvibes (Sorry that was so long!)

C) What is your favorite attraction (in each park, and if it is still too hard, in each land)
MK: Philharmagic!!! :smickey: :donald:
MGM: ToT
Epcot: Future World - Soarin'; World Showcase - France (all of it, including the movie)
AK: Kilimanjaro Safari

D) Rental Car or Disney Transport

Nope :sad2:

F) What is your favorite place on the Wonder/Magic?

G) After your initial purchase, how often do you speak to your guide?
For each of our three  add-ons

H) Dole Whips,Mickey Bars, and other treats... what is your favorite snack?
Carrot Cake!!!!!!!

I) Are you going to buy more points on the cruise?
Sadly, no. We plan on adding 80 more BCV points eventually, but not right now.

After an insanely crazy day....I'll take a minute to answer these questions. :teeth:

A) what is the worst meal you have had at WDW? (any associted warnings)
Cinderella's Castle Breakfast. All the hype and the atmosphere and princesses were great.....food, not so good.

B) What was the best thing a CM ever went way out of their way to do special for you... When checking in for our honeymoon, we were wearing our Bride and Groom pins. We got upgraded from a cat 11 to a cet 9! We got lots of special things that trip, but that one stands out. And all the staff at FTW, they were all awesome.

C) What is your favorite attraction (in each park, and if it is still too hard, in each land)
MK--Splash Mountain
Epcot--Soarin
MGM--Fantasmic!
AK--Kilimajaro Safari but that may take a backseat to EE soon!

Before kids: Rental Car all the way. With two carseats: Disney transport

E) Have you ever Pool Hopped? if so, please tell us Nope

H) Dole Whips,Mickey Bars, and other treats... what is your favorite snack? Margaritas in Mexico and Funnel Cakes in America now that there aren't any Beaver Tails in Canada

I) Are you going to buy more points on the cruise? DEFINITELY!!!!!

Now if I was a real smart as... aleck I would post this twice so I could be accused of answering these questions twice too.... (Pie to you Diana - :duck: )

CHEATER!!!!! :lmao:

1. If you could do a point for point swap would you change you home resort? If so from what to what. Nope. Quite happy with them the way they are.

2. Name one resturant at WDW that you just tried (within the last year) that you would recommend to your fellow DISers. Trail's End.

3. If you had a chance to spend a night at any Disney park (ala Magic Kingdom during Member Homecoming with the park holding only 2000 or so DISers) which park would you choose and why? Magic Kingdom

4. If you could spend a cruise with one deceased relative or friend who would you pick and why? My Grandfather. Was as much raised by my grandparents as my parents, and he'd be fascinated by all of it.

5. If you only had one night at WDW and you wanted a great meal where would you go to eat? Steersman's Quarters, but it's long gone now, so Either LeCellier or Yachtman's. For a quick meal, Kona Cafe.

6. What Orlando attraction besides WDW is your favorite? The Penguin & Puffin exhibit at Sea World.

7. What is your favorite memory of your first visit to WDW? Sorry to say I don't really have any, my only memory of my first visit is my mom complaining about runny eggs from Contemporary room service. That and the typical insane crowds for spring break there.

8. What is your most magical moment as a DVC Member? Meeting Jim Davis and Christopher White for dinner. :)

9. On a scale of 1 to 10 how happy are you as a DVC Member? 9

10. What, if any, rituals do you have when visiting WDW? Don't personally have much of any other than to relax. There's a feeling of...security and carefree that I only get there.

A) what is the worst meal you have had at WDW? (any associted warnings) V&A for the same reasons Mary said, even with the fact they've changed the menu since we went, that haute coture just isn't for me. A close second is Alfredos, which used to be one of my favorites. The last time we were in there it was noisy, crowded, rushed and frankly the food quality had backslid a great deal. And this was AFTER they had remodeled and expanded the place.

B) What was the best thing a CM ever went way out of their way to do special for you... Having a friend like David to make the last member cruise even more special for everyone.

C) What is your favorite attraction (in each park, and if it is still too hard, in each land)
MK - Buzz, Pirates, The ORIGINAL Tiki room.
MGM - The Stunt Show, Fantasmic.
AK - Don't really have one, like the Festival of Lion King, the Jeep tour, the walking paths after...
EP - Norway, BACK BACK OVER THE FALLS! And Soarin!

D) Rental Car or Disney Transport Usually winds up being rental car due to outside WDW events. But have done Disney Transport and found it nice :)

E) Have you ever Pool Hopped? if so, please tell us
Nope, don't swim enough.

F) What is your favorite place on the Wonder/Magic? A nice quiet place with a good view of the ocean, wether it be the verandah or deck 4. :)

G) After your initial purchase, how often do you speak to your guide?
Only for an addon and at a few of the member events.

H) Dole Whips,Mickey Bars, and other treats... what is your favorite snack?
The Mickey bars onboard ship, a far cry form the ones at WDW.

I) Are you going to buy more points on the cruise?
Nope.

So next Easter, can you guys please remind me that hosting an egg hunt for 15 under 3 year olds isn't fun for the host?? :faint: 200 plastic eggs, 8 PBJ's, 1 really cute Easter Bunny cake (made by me!) and I didn't sit down all day long.

The best part of the day was I had totally forgotten I had a hair appointment! :cool1: So I spent 2 luxurious hours with tin foil on my head, listening to GROWN UPS talk about grown up things!!! :cool1: And here's the big news---I'm a blonde!! :scared1:

A) what is the worst meal you have had at WDW? (any associted warnings)Rainforest Cafe

B) What was the best thing a CM ever went way out of their way to do special for you...During the 2004 Christmas Holidays DH and I wore our custom leather Disney Daytona Jackets and a CM @ SSR made sure Goofy came to see me and Donald came to see DH. Made for some GREAT pictures!

C) What is your favorite attraction (in each park, and if it is still too hard, in each land)
MK Small World
Epcot Test Track
MGM Rockin Roller Coaster
AK Safari

D) Rental Car or Disney Transport Rental, Magical Express and Towncar. We have used them all. Depends if we need groceries or shopping off property, etc. etc.

E) Have you ever Pool Hopped? if so, please tell us NO

F) What is your favorite place on the Wonder/Magic? Kids Clubs ;)

G) After your initial purchase, how often do you speak to your guide? We have seen her on the last Repo cruise and have added on a couple of times. I guess you could say she knows us pretty well

H) Dole Whips,Mickey Bars, and other treats... what is your favorite snack? Ice cream sundae @ Gueradelli's(sp)

I) Are you going to buy more points on the cruise? Probably not with the cruises we have scheduled for 2007 already :woohoo:

Can I add a couple of questions?

Only if I can answer them :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

A) what is the worst meal you have had at WDW? (any associted warnings)
Sorry all you Boma fans but this would be my choice. Nothing there for any of us to return to. Not bad, just not our cup of tea. Even those zebra domes I read so much about were not what we expected.

B) What was the best thing a CM ever went way out of their way to do special for you...I can only pick one? We have so many -- in fact, one of my letters I wrote to Disney was published in their Main Street Diary -- which is a Disney Newsletter published for their CM's. Gosh, the first one to come to mind is the CM who brought Walker Gatorade at The Land when that's all he had on his mind. I had told him over the MS that I would buy him a bottle but then we didn't see the display. Went to The Land for lunch and he still wanted the bottle of gatorade. Magically the CM came along with one and saved our lunch from being a disaster. :drinking1

C) What is your favorite attraction (in each park, and if it is still too hard, in each land)
Epcot -- Soarin'
AK - EE, Safari, Lion King Show
MGM - no favorite here -- hate Rock N Roller Coaster
MK - Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh

D) Rental Car or Disney Transport
Rental car usually -- in fact, I rented one for me & the boys last month and when we arrived, we just pretended as if Gary wasn't there and I did all the driving. Pretty proud that I didn't get turned around and now I know I could do it by myself if I needed to in the future.

E) Have you ever Pool Hopped? if so, please tell us
Yes, several times. We did twice last month. One day we went over to POR between parks. Just to check out the resort for a possible one night stay in the future. Kids enjoyed the pool there. And, also the night we went to WC for dinner. We spent the afternoon in the pool at VWL. We've also pool hopped over to the Poly -- after dinner at Ohanas and before the Electric Light Parade. I think we are the exception in that we enjoy checking out the other pools.

F) What is your favorite place on the Wonder/Magic?
I'll have the answer all of the Wonder. Haven't been on the Magic yet -- but I'm sure all of it will be my favoirte once we do.

G) After your initial purchase, how often do you speak to your guide?
Frequently. We receive calls from her. A lot of times she'll leave us a "welcome home" greeting. Gary called her last month when we were down there -- years back she gave him a DVC baseball hat which the clasp broke on. Gary called her to see if maybe she had another one tucked away some place that she could send to him -- as he got a lot of use out of the other one. No luck in that area.

H) Dole Whips,Mickey Bars, and other treats... what is your favorite snack?
Personally? None. Still haven't tried the Dole Whips -- although we did seek them out after Todd told us exactly that they were. Gary & I are not big snackers. Maybe a cup of coffee at night if it's cooler. The kids love the ice cream. Walker will get a Mickey Bar. No chocolate for him -- so he'll share it with Cameron who would prefer the chocolate over the ice cream.

I) Are you going to buy more points on the cruise?
We already have 482 (Curt, don't tell Karen -- it's a strange, odd number) -- I think we're set. We'll see, but we are not planning another add on at this time.

Hmm, even though it's one of my favorites, it's also been the worst a couple times, 'Ohana. We've had bad service twice (unfortunately both times with Cindy), but the food is always good.

Hey, you forgot about stinky!! :lmao: :lmao: Just because you no longer have the title of the "Stinky Meat People", you can't forget our stinky experience, can you? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Thanks Karen, Curt and Cindy!

Mark/Gary - since you watched the race this weekend did you see me on TV? I mean I was wearing my Dale Jr hat and a black tank top - I'm sure you couldn't miss me :rotfl2:

Julie, how do you have a wedding reception at MGM? Not that I personally ever will, but is there a location that they have it at? I'm really curious as I have no clue as to how a fairy tale wedding is done.

Cindy - that's some of the magic of Disney. There are many locations for the ceremony (Wedding Pavillion, Yacht Club Gazebo *that's us*, Sea Breeze Point, Epcot World Showcase etc) and many for receptions. We simply started asking our team about unique locations in MGM and worked to incorporate what we love most about the park and what would be unique for our guests and for us. Most custom weddings at Disney have a pre reception (cocktail hour but not called that in disneyspeak), dinner and then dancing or other entertainment. We will have the pre reception during a cool MGM show (hint) and then move into dinner (3 - 4 courses) and our entertainment which includes a DJ and other fun like caricature artists etc.

I'm not trying to be evasive about the locations, we simply made a decision a while back not to give away our reception details until after the wedding.... I'll happily blab on the cruise :goodvibes

1. If you could do a point for point swap would you change you home resort? If so from what to what? I'm keeping my BWV!

3. If you had a chance to spend a night at any Disney park (ala Magic Kingdom during Member Homecoming with the park holding only 2000 or so DISers) which park would you choose and why? I truly enjoyed Member Homecoming and would love to do it all over again, but the best memory is getting on to Test Track before 11pm and not getting off the ride till Midnight. We just did it over and over and over agian!

4. If you could spend a cruise with one deceased relative or friend who would you pick and why? I've already cruised with all the relatives that I want to cruise with, the only thing that would have msde it better is if my sister had gone with us.

5. If you only had one night at WDW and you wanted a great meal where would you go to eat? Where ever Nick wanted to eat, which would be either Cape May Cafe of Sci-Fi

8. What is your most magical moment as a DVC Member? Probably the trip we took for Nick's 8th b-day. Between getting a special wakeup call with a card and ballons to the mini b-day cakes he got at just about every restaurant we went to and having people sing happy birthday to him. I couldn't have planned anything like that even if I had tried!

9. On a scale of 1 to 10 how happy are you as a DVC Member? whats more the a gazzilion? :confused3 :rotfl:

10. What, if any, rituals do you have when visiting WDW? We try to visit out brick which is on the walkway between MK and the Contemporary.

at Norway before they changed the menu (to much fishy stuff for me)

B) What was the best thing a CM ever went way out of their way to do special for you... I would have to refer back to Nick's 8th b-day again. We had a late seating for bfast at Cindy's table and were the last peopl in the restaurant and Snow White waited til last to come to our table and she just sat right down and chit chatted with us for like 15 minutes. We got special one on one time with her, it was great!

C) What is your favorite attraction (in each park, and if it is still too hard, in each land)
MK-Big Thunder
Epcot - Mission Space
MGM - Toss up between Star Tours and RnR

9. On a scale of 1 to 10 how happy are you as a DVC Member?
9.9
