2006 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC06 - October 22, 2006 Part 2

We stayed at POR before SSMC05. I really liked it and would definitely stay there again. I mean, it wasn't a 1BR, but for the price, it was right for us.

Bruce now wants to rent points or have someone transfer points to us and stay at SSR or wherever we can get in before the cruise. We were going to do it, then we changed our minds and now again we are back to that. He thinks it would be cheaper for us...and it will, because we only need 20 points, so roughly $200 for 2 nights. Last year we paid $300 for 2 nights at POR.

If it comes down to it, we have 23 points left for next year, with no plans for it!

We just did a cash night at SSR. With the member discount and adding tax & all, it came to just under $300 for the night. For us, it was right in the middle of the week, so it made a whole lot of sense.

If you can wait until October, I have a Sit-n-Stand if you want it! I'll bring it to WDW for you! I want to give it away, but I don't know anyone here that can use it.

It's funny because we looked at the Sit n Stand last weekend at Babies R Us. Bruce called it the mean stroller because which kid gets stuck standing after a day at the parks. I said I thought they'd fight over who was standing b/c they'd both want to stand and I'd end up getting rid of the stroller because I wouldn't be able to deal with the fighting!

Have you heard of freecycle? I think it's freecycle.org and you find the board for your area. You can post what you are offering and someone who needs it emails you to arrange for a pickup. It's a great idea. We freecycled our old sofa and loveseat to a single mom who was just starting out on her own....I was just happy it went to a good home.

Cool. Once Southwest comes out with the airfare, I'll know whether or not we need them. We have enough for one night, just not two and I'd like to come down Friday morning before cruise.

Amy and Cindy, the kids are all absolutely adorable!! But I really can't believe how much Maddie has grown up since September.

Hmmm, I guess that's the way it came out, didn't it? No, that's not what I meant. I hope to someday invite you to my children's weddings and I will be more than happy to contribute towards their wedding expenses to cover it.

Speaking of Dis'er, we were standing in the barber shop on Main Street the day Walker stopped in for a color job, and in walked a DIS'er from Schaumburg? BethanyF....she works at the Disney Store at Woodfield, we met on the DIS and came to find out our children go to the same grade school. It really is a small world!

We ended up buying the Sit n Stand because right before Madison was born, Emily refused to sit in a stroller for any reason. We thought if we could convince her that she could stand, then maybe she would go for it. So, we buy the stroller and I don't think that she EVER stood on that thing. She would always just sit on the back little ledge. Oh well, it worked for the times that we needed it to.

Thanks for the idea of freecycle. I might give that a try.

That's what Gail & Cindy were saying too! I guess that I don't see it too much, since I see her every day. But, when I look at pictures of her from a few months ago, I can definitely see that she's losing her baby face.

That's probably true! I think that little ones change SO much between birth and 2! Somehow, they just change from being a tiny baby to a little person. It's just too cute! But, I know that we are also entering the terrible twos. Madison's favorite saying right now is "my". My seat, my pizza, my doll, my ..., whatever it is, it's Maddie's.
