2006 Disney Dining Plan FAQ

Do we know that "for sure"? I mean, we cannot know that for sure, of course, since Disney can remove restaurants from the list at any time, but do we know that Disney has set a hard date of 12/31 and that the Dining Plan will be available at non-Disney restaurants on that date and not available the next day?

They are in pending mode, not removed, but pending meaning they are not decided on whether they will stay with the plan. The last guy I just spoke with again said not to worry this has happend tempenyaki did this last year then said add them. More than likely these will stay, but what I don't like is he said wait till closer to our honeymoon date and check back!!!!!!! WTH what if I wait and cannot get anything. ugh that would make things worse. I am starting to wonder if the plan is worth doing honestly. I know dfh is gonna want it, but we are losing 3 adr's chefs we wanted bad along with raglen road.

Thank you for listing the changes, Bicker, I was just trying to figure that out myself.

I am shocked !! I see that all the good Epcot Country Restaurants Will be Off the Dining Plan !! WHY ??? Those are the best places to dine.
Thats a Total Bummer !! :confused3

Please Someone Ease my Mind that we are still good for this November !!!!
We have all our ADR's booked on the DDP and WDW better not take it away from us !! I'm feeling uneasy right now !! :sad1: :scared:

These changes are probably going to happen, if at all, starting in January. While no one can guarantee you that you won't encounter a problem in November, it is rather unlikely that you will.

No, both the Pepper Market and Maya Grill are not owned by Disney. I'm hoping they will participate in the plan come 2007, and are just currently in negotiations with Disney over the price.

CSR, the hotel, is definitely owned by Disney. The restaurants (both Maya Grill and Pepper Market) are not. They're both owned by Springs Food Service.

I am still surprised at the amount of restaurants Removed.....WOW!
WDW has to honor all we were promised when we booked our trip, I hope.

Thanks for all the info on this thread guys! I was on the Premium plan last year (my first trip) and was lured back with the free dining this fall. It will be interesting to see how it all works out.

Wow I am really shocked as well about all the Epcot restaurants that are no longer on the list. There were a couple we were planning on going to next summer and now I guess we will have to skip them. We are paying for the dining plan and do not plan to deviate from the list. Was really looking forward to San Angel : :sad1:

I'm not sure if it has been mentioned yet in this thread; the point cannot be overstressed -- the list simply doesn't include any non-Disney restaurants. Non-Disney restaurants are the only restaurants that currently participate thare are not listed for next year, as far as I can tell. The most likely scenario, as has been mentioned a lot, is that they're simply still in negotiations, so if that's the case, there is actually nothing to be surprised or shocked about yet.

WDW has to honor all we were promised when we booked our trip, I hope.
This list of participating restaurants can be changed at any time, without notice.

But PLEASE OH PLEASE, don't mess with my November Dining Plan WDW !!!! :sad1: :scared1:
AND, how many good Table Service Restaurants are left in Epcot with the 2007 Dining Plan....Booooooo Hoooooooooo......How Often Do they have to Negotiate with the Un-Disney Restaurants ??? If this is correct, it is a total bummer !!

Any NEW Information on the New Dining Plan that will be because of the New Disney Dreams Promo beginning Oct 1st ???

No that's not an important date, I don't think. Rather, I think we'll see the final list of participating restaurants for 2007 released in December sometime, not before. Before then, just think of the list that is published as "highlights" of the list of restaurants that will participate.

Just back from a 7-day trip (8/5-8/12) and wanted to share some info on how CSR was handling bakery items on the DDP. They have 2 sections in the Bakery, "Bakery I" (cinnamon rolls, danishes, baguettes, croissants, muffins and cookies) and "Bakery II" (cake/cheesecake slices, fruit tarts, tiramisu, creme brulees, etc.). At the beginning of the week all bakery items were available as a CS dessert or as a snack on the DDP. On 8/11 we were advised by the nice CM working in the bakery that only "Bakery I" items were available on the DDP as a CS dessert or snack--"Bakery II" items were now excluded.

Thank you for the update. It must have something to do with the free dining that started yesterday.

I'm sorry if this has been asked before but if we don't arrive at our hotel for check-in until 11 p.m. or midnight does that mean we would still have to pay for DDP for that night even though we won't be there to eat anything? I hope this makes sense.

Yes the dining plan is based on the number of nights on your reservation. You could do a room-only reservation for the first night & then a package for the rest of your stay but you do need to check-in again & there's a chance you may have to switch rooms.
