20050618 - June 18, 2005 - Magic to Mexico

Well, houseguests are gone now. I have time to catch up on Disboards :rotfl2:
I'll be pulling out the suitcases this weekend and getting serious about what we have and what we need to buy. DD's have grown quite a bit. I guess all the CA rain was good for them :rotfl:

DD1 "lives" on quesadilla's right now so when I saw the mission tortilla's at the grocery store this week, had to get 'em. :rotfl2: All the DD's thought they were fun and cute. However, when "Mickey" got damp, DD1's face got smeary with black ink. Still very cute! ::MickeyMo

Dave: DH is not a dress up guy unless he has to for work. He will only bring one dark suit which he will wear for formal and semiformal nights. If we have PLA, our first night in Lumiere's will be formal night :) and our second time in Lumieres will be Wednesday which will be Palo night. Don't know what he will where for Palo yet ...

V-Bug: I hope the rain stopped for your guys :umbrella: and you and DD have a great weekend. Didn't look at email until bedtime tonight, but got it. ::MinnieMo

The big BROWN truck came to my house yesterday but he didn't bring me a box from Disney. I did get my 1 GB memory stick from Dell so I can take lots & lots of pictures though..... I'm not going to worry about it though, I know that I can get on the boat with my downloaded docs.

DB: My DH is going to bring 1 dark suit for formal/informal nights. He'll be bring different colored shirt/tie combos to make his outfits look a little different. I have no idea what he's going to wear at Palo's. He does have another sportscoat but he said he refuses to bring another jacket. I hope he remembers to pack some dress socks this time!

Dress socks!!!?? Add another thing to the list...this cruise is getting expensive just to dress for.

Thanks for the info....now I just have to convince DW (SWMBO).

:rotfl:

LOL - On one of our trips he forgot black socks & had to wear his white athletic socks with his suit! :rotfl:

Thanks for reminding me that my son needs black dress socks too! ;)

Good Morning All! We are less than four weeks away now!

This trip is now "real" for me! (Long story involving three cancelled cruises.) I have my doc's in hand, and yesterday I pulled out the luggage and started laying out stuff in the guest room. I also did a "little" cruise shopping for myself. Me - :cloud9: , DH - :faint:

I had been waiting to shop until I no longer had my "pegleg" look. Unfortunately, the Dr. this week told me it would be another two weeks! :sad2: My next appt. is 6/3 -- two weeks before we leave
So last night I went and tried on a bunch of left shoes! :rotfl2:

I don't have a guest room or I would be packing too! I will have to wait until June, at least.

Lion King is coming to town in Dec/Jan. All of the good weekend matinee seats were sold out within hours, but I did manage to get Friday night tickets. Big Christmas purchase DONE! Yea! :cheer2:

It has been a busy kid weekend with piano recital, birthday party, play dates, and school project group meetings. Isn't time for them to go back to school? Mom has cruise stuff to do! :rotfl:

I've always wanted to go to the Lion King. DH took my mother to the show when it was 1st in L.A. but I stayed at home with the kids.

Whew - It's so hot I'm melting!

Monday, Monday....dah -dah -dah-dah-dah... :rolleyes1

We didn't escape totally the rain over the weekend, but at least it was nice between the thundershowers, and we were able to get outside and enjoy some mild weather. I guess the boys got wet up there on the mountain, but they survived it, as true boyscouts would!

Right now it's in the mid-50's and :umbrella: you got it! raining!

 :bounce: :Pinkbounc  Yea! to all those who got their docs this weekend!

CACrusin' - sorry to hear about the peg-leg. Here's :wizard: wishes that it's gone in time for the cruise!

DBinMV: My Mr. will only bring one suit with several shirts to interchange ala CrusingCA2005's DH. No tux rental on this end! DS fits into a pair of shoes from DH (whew! :earseek: ) so it's just "the socks" for us too!

Happy shopping everyone! :earboy2:

OK, after a quick inventory this weekend, it appears as though I'm in better shape than I thought, but DW has informed me that we're going to the mall this Saturday for her and the boys...and socks for me. :rotfl:

Can't believe how warm it's been - hoping for June gloom just so the temps will drop a bit.

For you folks who aren't AP's (or have guests coming into town who aren't APs), send me an email or PM if you would like a coupon for a free children's ticket with the purchase of an adult ticket. It's only good for one day, but I have a couple of them, courtesy of DW.

19 more working days....actually 18 for me. I'm sure it's even less for those of you getting here the week before. I can't even say the word "cruise" around my kids right now, because they start asking to go right now .

DBinMV

18 more working days for me....soooo I only have to endure 90 more hours of work. :teeth:

My kids are getting excited too. DS has a cruise chain going and he's been counting down the days until the cruise. DD has no real concept of time yet so if we mention going on a Disney Cruise she wants to go "tomorrow". I told her we have to wait until June and she says, "Okay we'll go on Saturday."

Let's see if the big brown truck plays tricks on me again today.

:wizard: Here's pixie dust for a visit from the big brown truck for Rae Ann. :cool1:

Hope the rain stops soon for you, V-Bug :umbrella: It looks like we have skipped spring completely in southern CA. Should be nice and warm for you. From what I have read, it is going to be REALLY warm (HOT even!) in Mexico! :sunny:

Had June Gloom this morning Dave, but it burned off pretty quickly on the coast.

Kids are done with school .... :moped:

So I had to buy the Mission tortillas with edible disney decals. They are small tortillas with 16 or so decals of mickey, minnie, tink, and the castle. When we first opened the package and used the decals, it worked great. All the DD's loved them! However, the next day, the decals would not come off the paper in one piece, no matter what I tried.

So, if you get the Disney tortillas just use all the decals up in one day! ::MickeyMo

Com'on Mr. Brown! Deliver da goods!!! :wizard: :flower:

13 working days for me! and two of those are half-days!

Todays grumble: How does it never fail that when you make a "well child" doctor apt (months in advance, mind you) that they both wind up getting sick just prior to that appointment?
....So ours are both now on Amoxicillin for strep! :confused3 :confused3 Better now that just on the cruise! The biggest baby (no offense-- DBinMV!) has been complaining about his throat, so hopefully he'll get himself to the doctor and get "swabbed" to be sure! I have threatened to make him walk the plank if he doesn't! Arrrrr! pirate:

Still unseasonably chilly here. Still in the 50's. And rain, rain. :umbrella: (don't they have a sad-faced umbrella holder guy?) Had some pretty high winds in places for yesterdays storms, but no damage near our home. It's trying to sunshine out there, but I waited for the bus with rain-drops.

It's busy here at work, but I am so tempted to keep checking the boards! I So need a vacation! :goodvibes

Anyone ever try that "Airborne" remedy to prevent getting sick? I picked some up last night (waiting for prescription to be filled).

We seem to be a smaller bunch of dis-cruisers than some of the others I see cruising over the summer on the West Coast.

Been trying to gleam info from the Repo cruise, but there's too many pages to read! Anyone see anything useful/pertinent to our cruise?

Apparently the new show ("Bumblesquats" or something like that) is not getting rave reviews. Sounds like it could be missed.

Well, it's 7:36 and time to dig into the piles on my desk! Have a "magical" day everyone (sorry, couldn't resist :earboy2: )

:cloud9:
"VB"

I have used Airborne before, and my family uses it the first sign of coming down with something and before we board a plane. It really does help! :)
::MickeyMo Did any of you submit pictures to Disneyland to use in their 50th Anniversary Murials? I submitted 5, but it looks like they used only one. I am happy that they used one at least! Apparently my daughter's baby picture with Mickey is part of Mulan's nose and mouth in a murial over in the Small World area. Made my day!

I plan to give all my dearhearts a good dose of the Airborne before the plane ride! Hopefully it's not too bad tasting! :confused3

Mr. Sunshine gave up :guilty: - Enjoy your sunshine and warm weather for me, OKAY?! :)

:wizard: :wizard: ****** for Rae Ann's visit from Mr. Brown! ***** :wizard: :wizard:

Ok, this is what I know about that! There is Orange and Lemon Lime. Orange is orgional. I think there was a grape one out for kids, but I have never bought it. I think the orange is tolerable, and my kids are pretty picky. They will all drink it BUT my oldest daughter just recently tried the Lemon Lime, and was shocked to find it tasted better to her and much like lemon lime gatorade! She suggested I give that to the younger ones next time. Personally, I always take it when I feel a cold coming on and never suffer past the first day of one. I have the shortest colds in history. Knock on wood! :teeth:

I had a visit from Mr. Brown yesterday but he didn't deliver my docs. I did get several packages from my latest bout of online "cruise shopping".

DH & DS got their Oakland Raiders t-shirts for pirates night. I had asked DH if he would wear a Pittsburgh Pirates shirt for pirate night and he said, "uhhhhhhhhh....how 'bout the Raiders instead." LOL - DH isn't really a baseball fan and I had forgotten that the Pirates are a baseball team, not a football team. pirate: DD's now upset that we didn't buy her a pirate hat at Disneyland. She's such a drama queen. She refused to try on hats and kept insisting she didn't want a hat but as soon as she sees her brother put on his hat at home she says, "That's mine!" :confused3

V-Bug: I hope your kids feel better soon. Even the big baby! :teeth:

Hey Holly: Because there was only one type of package on the shelf, I don't even know what flavor I picked up. I didn't know there was more than one flavor! I was excited to even see that!

We're behind on all the "new" stuff here in the arm -pitt of America! It's wierd, b/c I was raised in NYState, and lived in Maryland for several years prior to moving here. Philly is very "east coast" but here....
....well, it's definately NOT like the real "East coast". For one thing the ocean is hours away so there are no beaches within miles. Folks here think that Lake Erie qualifies as "the beach". It doesn't do it for me! Must be the salt or something??

It's really more "slow" paced here than a true east-coast town. Native Pittsburghers deny that it's mid-western. Well, I haven't been to any place more west than here (I won't count Hawaii; that is most wonderfully west :goodvibes ) so I can't say how a real Mid-west pace is, but this is not fast-paced.

There are people who move here from California (are they nuts?) but they seem to like it (despite the nasty weather). After 15 years, it's grown on me.

There's a lot this little city has to offer as far as cultural and arts. Yes, we've had Lion King (drats! we couldn't get tix to that one!) and Beauty&Beast broadway shows; and Circque du Solei (excuse me spelling errors -arrrr pirate: ) is again coming this summer. And for the science nerds (who me?) there's the Carnegie Museum collections. Neat thing is that I don't have to travel far at all to see this stuff. And we do have a zoo and aquarium for the kiddies. Opera and ballet and musicals and ....

So if you are ever on this side of the nation, and want a tour guide, I would be happy to assist! :goodvibes

And we have the Clipper boats to "cruise" the rivers with! :rotfl:
