20050618 - June 18, 2005 - Magic to Mexico

pirate: AARRGGH...Big Babies, Indeed. Be it known that it be the DW(ench) who be the whiner of the family. <sharpenin' me 'ook> pirate: :)

Yes, one of my photos of the boys made it into a collage - I don't know which part yet, but they are part of the Steamboat Willie collage. (Row 4, Column 17, bottom left quadrant). I'll have to be sure to check it out when I go to the park on the 12th.

Re: Pittsburgh - it's the eastern most mid-western town I know of. I spent 10 years growing up in the Dayton, OH, area....Pittsburgh really reminds me of Cincy - big city, lots available, but not the _RUSH_ and trendiness of the East Coast cities. I have lots of great memories from there as a kid that'll never happen here in SoCal - chasing lightning bugs, snow days, catching crawdads in the creek, going to the stream to catch trout or catfish, riding my bike through the woods, buying my bed out of the back of a barn, having yards with no fences (and big enough to play football on) - that's all great stuff. When my kids get a bit older, I'm plan to take them to Ohio to go to Cedar Point, King's Island, and maybe do a canoe ride down one of the smaller rivers.

To be honest, I miss the slower pace a lot of the time.

Pirate Night....Hmmm. What about this (picture with a pirate hat)?

My brother-in-law thought it might be a good idea...very "of the Carribbean"-ish. Actually, looking at it, I think I'd probably freak out the kids - maybe not.

Here's hoping you get your docs, Rae Ann.....

DBinMV

DD1 ran a fever for three days and has had a yucky nose ever since. She has her "well baby" visit next week, but we may be going in to see the pediatrician this week too. Everybody else seems to be healthy. (knock wood) I bought Airborne earlier this winter, but haven't ever needed to use it.

:wizard: for some sunshine for VBug! We should have plenty for you here, if you don't get any before :sunny:

:wizard: That all of us get healthy and STAY THAT WAY for the cruise.

:wizard: for docs for Rae Ann!

:wizard: Everyone get well, and stay well! :wizard:
I am going to lend you my cloud Rae Ann! :cloud9: The Docs will be in soon!

Funny thing about Docs. My friend hasn't received hers. She booked about a week after I did. I booked on the day the rates were released (May 5, 2004) Her last name begins with A, mine W. She is Cat. 12, and we are an 8. My other friend is a Cat. 5 and last name begins with B, and she also booked on May 5th. We are guessing that my one friends Docs will be coming this week. Anyone book later than she did and already received their docs? :3dglasses

Hello fellow cruisers! DD and I received our passports this weekend. Woohoo! Oh Raeann I am crossing my fingers for your docs to come. But hey, cruise shopping packages are pretty exciting as well! DBinMV we are also in the Steamboat Willie collage. I can't wait to get back to Disneyland and view them.

Tried to book Palo for high tea using the 3/4 person and still no availability. :sad2: Do you think they have saved some ressies for when we board?

This week is dragging by, I'm glad I have all of you to entertain me :earboy2:

:wizard: Here's to healthy families!

Good Day to all :wave2:
I also submitted photos for the 50th anniversay. I got an email yesterday that gave the location of 5. Most are in steamboat willy and one is in DCA. The email did say that "here are the locations of some of the photos" and to "check the kiosk's at the park. I thought that since the email said location of some that they may have used more the 5.(I submitted alot) I guess I'll have to wait until I go to the park.

I use airborne at the first tickle in the throat. I have only used the original, which I don't mind. I think I will try the lemon line next time I pick some up. I swear by it. But only if it is used right away. I even use it as a precaution if someone in my office is sick. I think that it being fizzy helps.

I didn't book until june last year and last name starts with A and got ours about a week or so ago. We are in Cat 12

:wizard: Here's to Rae Ann being able to to the doc dance very very soon!!!

I've been busy making door signs at work. Shhhhhhhh...

I'm not finished with our door signs yet but I did make our "Where in the World is the Disney Magic" page. I'm going to have use a sticker (or a magnet) to mark where we are everyday. Let me know if any of you would like a sign like this.
http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/cruisingca2005/detail?.dir=/d32f&.dnm=c5d0.jpg

I get to go home soon to see if I've received my docs!!

Today must be door sign day! I have been playing around with one this afternoon. :rotfl2: I am thinking about "Cruisin' with Mickey ... West Coast Style!" what do you think?
I have to wait for DH to come home tonight and "unzip" the disney font, since I am trouble with it. :badpc:

Called the pediatrician today ... DD1 has an appointment tomorrow morning. It is probably "just a virus" but next week is "crazy" so I decided I'd rather take her in sooner rather than later.

Dlander: according to my TA DCL is holding about 50% of the reservations for spa & Palo booking onboard. Hopefully you can get something.

We booked our cruise first day, Cat 3, last name is L. -- DCL has no rhyme or reason to when they send things :confused3

:wizard: Here's to a package waiting for you when you get home, Rae Ann. :wizard:

LOL - I had 3 packages waiting for me when I got home but none of them were from DCL or my travel agent. I have a feeling that she sent them to her office and not directly to me. I haven't been too pleased with her but she was able to get SPH rooms for me. If it gets down to 14 days until the cruise then I'll be sweating it. Maybe I'll go fill out the docs online just in case.

Did anyone see all the "upgrades" the Magic will be getting in October? (It was posted in the Repo cruise thread).

You have been busy shopping! Since you are not flying to the port, and you can fill out your doc's online, it does make it less stressful. Still we all want to do the "Doc Dance" with you! Hope they come soon. :dancer:

Going to read the Repo thread now .... how I wish I could have been on that cruise!

Yes, I see the light! :sunny: We have Mr. Sunshine with us this morning -although I could still see my breath while waiting for my bus!

Today sending more wishes to Red Jenny for that special package delivery from Mr. Brown. It seems to be working, as there are lots of packages being delivered, albeit not the exact wished for package, but apparently still fun to get those packages! :flower: *** :wizard: *** :wizard:
Maybe we should all play the powerball - we could be lucky! :teeth:

oops! :guilty: Mr. Sunshine has now disappeared. I guess that was it for the day. Have umbrellas handy if you ever visit here! :umbrella: Save some sunshine for me! Yep! I bought sunscreen and it's packed! :rotfl:

Have a great day mes amigos! - today's a half-day for me! I got stuff to take care of! 10-working days for me! (9 full days and 2 half days!) :cloud9:
Am I excited??

YES!! :Pinkbounc

Hey, anyone out there who wants to join in? Please! :sunny:

Capt' Anne: How's the baby-doll? "Mizz M" is so excited about your DD's emails! She's really looking forward to meeting her! Apparently they're planning to "hang out" together in the Lab. Good luck packing the "horse book" LOL! :goodvibes How are your "craft" projects going?

Red Jenny: Any news on Mr. Brown? Has he come back to visit with more packages? I'm on pins and needles! Do Tell!!! How are the door signs going? You've got some neat ideas! :flower:

Tink, Bloody Davy and Dlander: How cool that your photos are in the collages! We didn't send any, as we have no photos of us @ DL! :guilty:
This is our first visit to DL so now we'll have photos! I was 38 before I first visited WDW! Have parents that don't believe in Disney! It was MIL that insisted that we visit WDW with their grandkids! :)

Weather report: it's actually :sunny: here today! Waahhhoooo! YES! and the temps are supposed to hit the 70's. Tomorrow and for the weekend, the weather is not predicted to be nice here, but today is a good day!

No, sadly I didn't win the powerball last night! :rotfl: I think it is the first time I ever played! A whopping $2.00 (one for me, one for DH)

from another website:
"Around late morning, the dining crew started working on the first ever largest bbq on Deck 9 midship! Guess we were the guinea pigs for this event. Talk was that they were trying this because for the California cruises. They don't have a Castaway Cay day so they are planning a beach party day with an all-out BBQ. The food was totally incredible. The
bbq pits (about 15 of them) were fixing rib eye steaks, chicken breasts, pork chops, bratwurst, and salmon and shrimp kabobs."

Sounds pretty cool! :teeth: Yummm!!!!

An all day Beach BBQ would be awesome!!!!! What a great idea! I hope they do it! Disneyland used one of my pictures for the collage of Mulan by Small World Mall. Very cool. :goodvibes We are so excited around here, it isn't even funny! One of my twin daughters found the formal night outfit of her dreams, and has it hanging in the kitchen so she can keep looking for it. My other daughter is still on the look out. They dress so diffently, but if they are walking together on the ship you will know they are twins. If you see a set of Twin 18 yr old Red Heads,  they most likely will be mine.Last night several of my girls were modeling clothes, and my friend came over and modeled some clothes she just bought. We are all catching the cruisen' fever!!

Did your friend ever get her documents? Pixie dust that she did! :wizard:

That is so cool about the photos you all sent in! I am sad we couldn't participate in that project, but it should be a lot of fun seeing the murals! This is so exciting for me to see DL for the first time! :Pinkbounc

Sounds like you have a happy house full of anticipation! ::MickeyMo The young ladies will be beautiful in their formal outfits - no doubt!

I'd love the fun of the deck BBQ. I hope the repo cruisers enjoyed it so that it would be a success and they'll have it for us WCCs!

I tried to keep up with that "live from" thread, but there are so many "that's great" and "so terriffic"-type postings after the actual news from the repo cruisers, that I gave up in frustration! It's hard to find the real cruisers' posts in all that mess! Arrrrrrgh pirate:

My friend's docs came in Monday and I picked them up for her yesterday. YAY!
I also have been frustrated with the Repo thread and all the "that's great" postings. I was excited about the questions only thread, but alas that one gets bogged down and off topic also at times. I do believe that the repo posters greatly appreciate our written enthusiasm and appreciation, but that they don't really have time to go through all the posts either. That is why they requested another thread of questions and answers only. I also know they will LOVE reading all of our thank-you posts when they return. Darned if ya do, Darned if ya don't.
Hey, anyone know if they still sell "I love Pirates" black snap wrist bands at Disneyland?

Looks like it's just us, Holly! I'm starting to get a complex! Did I say something bad??? Scare everyone away?? :earseek:

 Yea! for your friend. She'll be excited too about the trip.

Heres: http://www.allearsnet.com/cruise/dcl_repo1.shtml more info about the repo from several cruisers' perspectives. Only difficultly is that most recent information is at the top so you have to do a lot of scrolling up and down. Ah well, the price I pay for information! :goodvibes I recognized a few of the posts from the "live from" thread, but this is more of a "trip report".

Nope, you didn't scare everyone off! I'm still here.

I just love reading the trip reports from the repo cruisers. Un rib eye steak y dos cervezas por favor. I wonder which day the bbq will be.

COOL website VB! I might print some of it so I have something to read while I am off camping near Yosemite this weekend! I will miss the boards! I leave tomorrow and will be back Monday Night. POST all exciting new and purchases my friends! I will be checking this board out as soon as I get home! :earboy2:
