20050618 - June 18, 2005 - Magic to Mexico

Hollyster: When/what time are you trying to "do" Fantasmic? We're taking our chances with the later show "in the trenches" as well. I'd rather eat Mickey bars on the ship than do the buffet for Fantasmic, especially at that price! :earseek:
Mind we have done the Brown Derby Fantasmic dining at WDW, but that at least was a dinner!

DB: I don't think you need rush delivery. My passports got here in a little more than two weeks. My coworker who got her renewal done last month got hers in less than 2 weeks. I think we get ours quickly because one of the passport processing agencies is in Los Angeles.

DBinMV: I had to look back thru the thread but....
"The kids' passports arrived in the mail on Saturday the 5th! So that was just 15 working days (figuring the gov'mt doesn't work on Sat &..."

We're on the east side of the nation....
I concur with Rae Ann! :goodvibes

Geez, is everyone on the boards this morning or what??!! :smooth:

Thanks for the info, everyone.

Vacationbug, if you want to make sure you get good seats for the late Fantasmic, go do Haunted Mansion, Pooh, Splash Mountain, etc. during the early showing of Fantasmic. After the first one ends, as the horde of people are all going towards Main Street, walk in from the other side to take a position in the center.

DBinMV

Thanks DBinMV! :teeth: That's a keeper for me!
And yup we're all on the boards....

Misery loves company ya know! I am still waiting like you! (oooh but Arghhh! pirate: the pirate in me is getting ready to mutany!)

My pirate name is: Red Jenny Flint.

"Passion is a big part of your life, which makes sense for a pirate. Like the rock flint, you're hard and sharp. But, also like flint, you're easily chipped, and sparky. Arr!"

What's your pirate name?

We are an active group this morning! :hyper2:

CruisingCA2005: I sent you and email with our info.

I hadn't thought about each dining rotation having a different start time. That makes alot of sense though! Adds another variable into which Rotation to choose: based on theme night or timing, hmmm. :rolleyes2

DBinMV: We got our passports a year ago. At the time we had 6 weeks + 1 day before our trip. We used the regular service based on advice from the post office agent. We had them back in 11 days. We have 7.5 weeks until cruise time so I would say don't use the expedite service, but get them in this week.

All we have gotten so far is a couple of emails: DCL recommends passports, you're paid up :cheer2:, and you can book excursions now. Any other info I have found on this board. :disrocks:

VacationBug: Snow? Yikes :cold: We had rain on Sunday and more predicted for later this week, but the weather seems to have finally turned the corner -- we have more sunny days than wet ones now! Here's some :sunny: vibes for you! Hope it warms up soon.

Ok "Red", here's me name: Calico Ethel Vane
"Often indecisive, you can't even choose a favorite color. You're apt to follow wherever the wind blows you, just like Calico Jack Rackham, your namesake. You tend to blend into the background occaisionally, but that's okay, because it's much easier to sneak up on people and disembowel them that way. Arr! pirate:

Captain Anne Read be me! pirate:

" Even though there's no legal rank on a pirate ship, everyone recognizes you're the one in charge. Even through many pirates have a reputation for not being the brightest souls on earth, you defy the sterotypes. You've got taste and education. Arr!"

I am planning on being right there in the trenches during the second show of Fantasmic. It looks like it will only be showing on Friday the 17th of our stay. We arrive on the 15th, and are staying at the Disneyland Hotel. ::MickeyMo
We are planning on going to Rain Forest Cafe when we arrive( 15th), hitting the pool, and then going to Medieval Times! princess: We have reservations at Blue Bayou on Thursday for lunch(16th) pirate: and plan to follow the wonderful advice on this board while trying to catch the second show of Fantasmic on the 17th. After that we will head back to get some sleep because we are planning on being early to the port!

My Pirate name is Dirty Jenny Rackham pirate:

<< You're the pirate everyone else wants to throw in the ocean -- not to get rid of you, you understand; just to get rid of the smell.
You have the good fortune of having a good name, since Rackham (pronounced RACKem, not rack-ham) is one of the coolest sounding surnames for a pirate. Arr!>>

I went back to that Pirate site, and tried to be as "Clean" as possible, and it is still calling me Dirty Jenny. LOL :rotfl:

Yo "Dirty"! :teeth:

We are also doin' lunch at BB (now how could a pirate like me not go to BB?) but late (2:20) on the 16th and we're also doing the late showing on the 17th of Fantasmic! :goodvibes We arrive on the 15th but we're staying "down-class" at the PPH. Since they recently re-did (is that a word?) the pool, it should be nice. You'll beat us to the port because we're traveling on the Disney buses with our "other" half of our party. We're doing the Stitch Character breakfast at PCH Grill (PPH) in the morning of the 18th! It would be cool if DCL would do the check in at the hotel like they do at WDW. Guess we gotta wait and see -- Arghhhhhh! pirate:

Lastly, for those of you who recently got passports, how long did it take? Just discovered that DW got the passport photos taken, but hasn't submitted paperwork yet. I'm just wondering if I should pay the $$$ for a rush delivery.

 I turned in the paper work for my passport on march 7th ( ;) day before the increase) and got it on march 28th so it took exactly 3 weeks.

I also got my pirate name:
Mad Dog Rackham pirate:
Part crazy, part mangy, all rabid, you're the pirate all the others fear might just snap soon. You have the good fortune of having a good name, since Rackham (pronounced RACKem, not rack-ham) is one of the coolest sounding surnames for a pirate. Arr! pirate:

Wow this thread has been BUSY!! We're pretty close to 300 posts. Do you think we can make it to 500 by the time we sail?

Hollyster & CACruisin' - got your emails. Thanks!

Heh. Cool link, Rae Ann.

pirate: pirate: Bloody Davy Vane
Every pirate lives for something different. For some, it's the open sea. For others (the masochists), it's the food. For you, it's definitely the fighting. You tend to blend into the background occaisionally, but that's okay, because it's much easier to sneak up on people and disembowel them that way. Arr! pirate:

You've been warned. :scared1: LOL.

Rae Ann...These face painting designs are great!

Thanks...I've started doing face painting for a carnival at DS's school. We've done it two years in a row & we're the most popular booth. :flower: I'll bring some supplies for the DIS kids.

Any news? Any news? Any news?

There has to be news tomorrow! I was so excited to read something about the new dining times!!! At least that was something.

Raise the Sails ye Motley Crew: Mad dog, Red Jenny, Bloody Davy, and Dirty Jenny (anyone else hiding below decks? Speak up now ye Bilge Rats!!! pirate: )

A storms a brewin' Grey skies abound. Preparing for another wet day. :umbrella:

Calico Ethyl (I like the scientific [alcohol] spelling of the "Ethel" better) reporting for keeping the thread active!

Aye, Aye, Cap'n Anne (Arrrrr!) ::MickeyMo pirate:
