I'm getting a little worried about Jindy. Her last post said she was going to Disneyland on the 10th, let's all hope that she is there having a good time.

Good Monday morning everyone! As good as you can get for a Monday!
Scott- Weather here is perfect. It has been 70-75 for the past two weeks! Its beautiful! After all the hurricanes, we deserve this weather!

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and eats lots of turkey!

Kim

ARGH!! I think I need to move to CT! It's warmer there right now, it sounds like. It was 37 degrees when I left the house this morning for work! I can't wait to get on the ship in a few weeks to thaw out - yes, Scott, I know, it's not as cold here as you are getting, but for the San Francisco area, this is REALLY cold for this time of year. We don't normally see temps this low for another couple of months.

Anyhoo... hope Jindy has just been super busy with life, catching up after the trip to DL.

I have to work every day this week except Thursday, so I'm a bit bummed, but will enjoy Thanksgiving!

Scott, you'll have to post as you make your decision about GPS. I know that's a toy DH would truly love, so I'm considering getting him one, but he's a tech geek to some extent, so this memory thing sounds like it's a big consideration.

Cheers all, Kara

Wasn’t it Mark Twain who once said the coldest winter he ever spent was a summer in San Francisco?

Cold clear weekend here. Almost, no it is, depressing going to work when it is dark and then getting home when it is dark.

I also only get Turkey Day off. We hope to get the Christmas lights up that day. Planning as such will guarantee a major blizzard. That will be the only day Lynn and I have off together that week, or till the first of the year.

Hope all have a good week. Still contemplating the GPS, we will see.

hello everyone :wizard:
Just checking in. Still onboard for the repositioning. Too much drama in my life right now to keep up with the boards, but I promise to check in from time to time. Counting the hours till the Xmas cruise and hoping that something in my closet still fits for formal night.
Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!

Hey Guys and Gals,

Here are a couple of ideas to toss out to ya all.

A pre-cruise meet at WDW, just a simple get together to say hi. Maybe the night before at an area accessible to one and all without admission. i.e. Turtle Crawl at OKW, or somewhere like that.

The next idea came up as I was scheduling the classes I teach at our Recreation Center. Would anyone be interested in a Caribbean Fish ID class?

I know our lives will get hectic as the holiday season approaches, oops, it’s here. As well as some of you lucky sea dogs are heading out on the 10 day cruise.

Hi Scott, unfortunately, I will have no transportation for a pre-cruise meet. We are arriving the day before around noon, but plan to limo it to Ron Jon's. Sounds like a fun idea though, sorry! We will catch up with all of you at the port though, bright and early! You'll see me decked out most likely in lime green and my DD hiding pretending that she does not know me! LOL

Anyone else staying at Ron Jon's the night before?

Robin

The Night Before ....

We think that we will not arrive until LATE Friday Night ..

so It will Be off So Some Hotel...

Any Thoughts on Going To The Port Transportation ??

Peter

It looks like we might be staying at Ron jon's or something with my inlaws precruise, if not we'll be at Disney and we'll see you Scott... As far as a fish ID thingie, I'd love it... I can teach bundling babies 101

I have to get an AC fix on May 13 or I'll be way too obnoxious on the cruise.

What the heck is a Caribbean Fish ID Class? Do the fish carry IDs?

We would like to do that, but unfortunately we will be staying by the airport that night. Love OKW, that's our home resort, but not staying there this time.

Oh yes fish must carry ID's:

First they have to have them so their teachers can take roe in school.

That was bad so I'll stop there.

Sounds like we will all be every where the night before, but might set something very simple up for those of us at WDW.

As for getting to the port we decided to get a rental car for the couple of days before. Lynn discovered the Character Express ( I think I got the name wrong) place in the outlet mall, so gotta have a car to get there.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Too funny!

I would love a Carribean fish id class. Those silly plastic i.d. cards look nice but don't identify half the cool stuff you see!

We will also very likely be staying somewhere near the port the night before, since my parents will be flying in early and wanted to hang out on the space coast for a few days before we sail. DH and I probably won't fly in until the night before, but since my parents will already be out there, we'll head out and stay with them I think.

Wow, I'm amazed at the number of folks that already have air booked and hotels reserved! Gonna have to get on that as soon as we get back from the 10-day! We are planning to take Southwest, and they haven't released May's schedule yet. That's my excuse!

Have a good Thanksgiving all!

Kara

Kara

I'm waiting for Southwest also. What's really nice about the Repo cruise is that I only need one Rapids Rewards ticket for both me and my DW. I check Southwest everyday, so I will let you know when they open it up. It will probably be during the Xmas cruise.

We are staying at the Embassy Suites near the airport. We are there for the night before the Xmas cruise as well.

Ken

Wow, I had a lot of catching up to do....

So I'm back!!! Thanks to all those who have been concerned, but I'm doing ok. I have been very busy and seriously exhausted and overwhelmed. Literally just running from one place to the next, Disneyland included. I forgot to take the address book I had printed out; so for those of you who had sent me PMs - I went all the way to Anaheim without your adresses. (Kim, I did manage to pick up a tiny little something for Kaylin).

Disneyland was a ton of fun. The park always looks so pretty this time of year, but this year - wow! The castle looks awesome as does the rest of the parts of the park that have been rehabbed. The paint looks great and everything looks brand spankin' new!!! The castle is breath taking! Jack and the mansion are more awesome than ever (by the way, Ken - that play you were talking about sounds like a winner!), and I made sure to check out the tombstone of that guy Jay who paid something like $37K for it to be in the mansion.

As usual, it's always hard to leave So Cal to come back up to Nor Cal. You're right Kara, the past few mornings have been in the 40s. Pretty chilly!!! (Although I confess, I LOVE it!) It was in the low to mid 70s in Anaheim the whole time we were down there. Nice! :sunny:

I must admit, between being so busy with work, Adrienne's school, life, etc. as well as not being online at all - the cruise has been the furthest thing from my mind. Well, it WAS the furthest thing from my mind until I started xmas shopping and thinking about my xmas list and expenses and all that stuff. Now it's back in the forefront and I'm wondering how the heck I'm going to manage xmas and still have all my money into DCL by February...

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone! Be safe, be thankful and be happy!

P.S. I've been thinking about what movies might be on the ship when we sail, and The Pacifier came to mind. :rotfl: I'm a sucker for Vin Diesel. (As I'm sure you all guessed by the name).

We have a room reserved at the Embassy Suites as well. You'll have to let us know what you think about the place after your stay at Christmas time Ken.

We were considering staying closer to the port - still might depending on what time we get our flights (also waiting on Southwest) but we tend to stick with Embassy as first choice when possible and have rarely been disappointed.

Would love to be able to make a stop at the outlet mall too, but will most likely get in late-ish.
It's been over a year since we were there... but I think there was a Character Warehouse and a Character Premier. We found some great Universal stuff, not so much WDW, but that trip was mostly Universal anyway so it worked out well for us!

I'd love to learn to ID Caribbean fish too...sounds fun!

Glad to see you back Jindy
We thought about making a quick trip to DL this weekend - but we still have a couple of So Cal AP's which are blacked out over Thanksgiving - so will probably wait a week or two. I love the park at Christmas time too!

Happy Thanksgiving all!

The missing Jindy returns. The NBC play was excellent. Great sets and makeup - especially considering it was a high school production.

Az Pirates - I'll try to remember to give you an Embassy Suites report, but if you don't hear from me after the Xmas cruise, please feel free to remind me.

Happy Thanksgiving all!

Lee and I stayed there for the last cruise and have reservations for this cruise.
Love the "manager's reception". We kept the bartender busy:crazy:
Also, there's the breakfast bar in the morning.
The transportation to and from the airport was good and quick.

I'm glad to hear that you have stayed there before and will again. We are scheduled there for the night before the Xmas cruise and again for the Repo cruise.

Thanks for the info.
