Since this thread is a bit slow, I thought I would post some general info on how DCL has handled another specialty cruise we are going on soon. They have been very secretive, not letting us know in advance much about the trip or special events. Here we are, under the 30-day mark and we hear that DCL is just finalizing the daily itinerary this week. For some reason, I would have thought they would do that sooner, but I don't know why I would think that.

Anywho, that means we will very likely be "surprised" for the trip through the canal too. I am most curious to know if we will have more than one formal or semi-formal night. I think it would be fun, but I know that my opinion is far left. We'll see!

Kara . . . Well, I wish we would get more information before the trip, but I doubt it will be. I guess I need to stock up on some maps and other details of places we are following.

I'm not sure what I'll do about excursions. Usually, I would book on my own -- not through DCL, but this time may be different. But, I will have to wait until March 14 to pay in full. We won't really know if we are *going for sure* until the end of Feb (job thing)

And, for those that responded to my Beauty & Beast question .... Thank You! I got my sister to tell my Dad we wanted that for Christmas. She got us tickets and it will be a great surprise to my DH, DD6 and DS9!

Kara, When did they announce the excursions for your special 10 day cruise? I'm hoping they will announce them early for this cruise for the people that pay in full early. Don't they have that new *90* day thing where you can book the excursions?

Sandra, I hope you don't have to cancel this trip! So far my job is okay with the 3 weeks that I will be gone. It's not like it is "prime" vacation time for the calendar at work. They also let two other people have 3 weeks each this year, so they really can't say no to me? I know one thing, I will not be happy after 3 weeks when it is Monday morning time for work.

Anyone hear from Jindy? Maybe she decided to stay at Disneyland permanently? Seriously, I hope everything is okay.

I too hope everything is okay with Jindy...she was going to send us a postcard from DL, but we haven't received it yet.

We did know about our excursions ahead of time, but that isn't as good of a measure in our case for this PC cruise. DCL already had other cruises planned to all but one of our ports (I believe), so we had the "luxury" of knowing what the excursions were going to be ahead.

Yes, we did get to book our excursions starting 90 days out. For most of us on that cruise, we were paid in full when we booked, but there were a few who said DCL allowed them to book excursions without being paid in full yet. I wouldn't count on that to work, but it might.

As Scott requested, there will be a few of us on the 10-day trying to get some info out of the CMs on the ship...however, knowing that the trip for the 10-day is just now being finalized, I'm not going to hold my breath for much info.

As an aside, most, if not all, specialty cruises seem to have some type of Disney celebrity on board. DH is desperetaly hoping that DCL will have Off Kilter on board...We love OK, and they would be a lot of fun on board.

Have a great weekend all...we're going to see the Lion King tonight. This is their last weekend to perform in San Francisco before moving on to Seattle. I'm REALLY excited!!

Well I will tell you all.... my mother already sent a letter to DCL requesting that they be aboard! They sent back a nice letter saying they will consider it.....

As if you can't tell by my screen name, I also have a certain adoration for the 5 men in kilts They are willing! As long as they can bring their families

Good morning, Catherine! I just read your tags, and I've got to tell you a story!

My niece is a freshman at Univ of Wyoming. She's in absolute culture shock! Seems the Univ must not only cater to vegetarians, but they also only have so much money for condiments. They don't buy mayo--only some gray stuff called vege-nayaise.......

We're having her Bday party tomorrow, and guess what she's getting?!?!?!? A large box of mayo packets from Sam's!!!

Now wether or not to get a GPS, that is the question, wether it is nobler to suffer the slings and compass point arrows of misfortune..... Any recommendations out there?

Well, Scott....have I got a deal for you....I'll send you ours, and you can play with it....its a Meridian Magellan that's almost a year old. Keith says it needs more memory, and memory can't be added to this model. If nothing else, you can try it out and see what features you really want....You can give it back when you and Lynn have dinner with us in February! (hint hint!!)

Julie called the other night and we're snowmobiling in the Gros Ventre this year. JHST opened up 2 new tours, otherwise, we were gonna do the Falls at Yellowstone.

Lmk if you want to try it.

And Catherine, as far as I'm concerned, she's still supposed to be 4 years old....she's not supposed to know about condiments!!!

Kelli, Thanks for the offer, I have access to several here and a guy I used to work with teaches a GPS/mapping class and I have picked his brain. Memory is definitely an issue, like anything with data the more the better. Has Keith ever taken his on a cruise?

When in February? We are gone to the Bahamian Out Islands the first part of Feb. So let us know.

Scott, Keith says he had it with us in May. It worked out on the verandah, but not inside the ship. It showed the islands, and long and lat.

He's not too much the boy scout, so I'm not sure what good it did him....boys and their toys..... I say "bring on the spa!!!"

And a great excuse it is!! Keith really doesn't need one, but everyone at work was talking about them, so.....

My weekend has been so-so....we went to Platteville, CO yesterday to take my first temp foster dog to a long term foster lady. I'd had "Honey" since Wednesday night, and it was still tramatic for me.....now my sinuses are all messed up and I was up at 430am.....

I hope they get easier.....this tiny toy poodle had a bad leg, a cataract so that she was blind in one eye, 1 tooth, and very little hair. She wrapped herself around my heart just like that.....the things these puppy millers do just slays me. I'd like to go bomb them out of existence.

We Feel Like We rescued her .. After the Shelby passed away we just Wanted a puppy one Day, and she was at the store..MAISY

8 above?! Just got in from my walk and I thought 45 was cold. Just sipping my Maxwell House coffee ( I'm sure there is something exotic in there) and reading the boards. No football company this weekend, so it is kinda quiet here.

Lee finished her Mickey bedroom, but she thinks it needs more. Like a bookshelf and maybe a dresser. Anyone seen anything like this in a Disney theme?

Well, any good home is better than a mill, or a pet store... ;-)

I know Disney at Home store in downtown Disney has things, but you should be able to get drawer pulls etc at a lot of stores--even in Indiana!

Scott, no wonder you want to move to Florida! 8 degrees! It is a balmy 50 something here today. Not bad considering it is almost December. I'm sure we are in for it sooner or later. My DD is basking in 80 degree weather today down in Tallahassee. I can't wait!
