I have been making plans for a visit to
Disneyland for the 50th
Anniversary bash at the end of this cruise and just got this e-mail from my
travel agent...
"Well it's a good thing I called the Candy Cane Inn because they no longer
allow any type of animals, not even service animals. So we can not even get a
room there at all."
The Candy Cane Inn, which has a really good nightly rate for the post-repo cruise timeframe, is a motel that Disney lists as one of its "Good Neighbor Resorts" and offers vacation packages in cooperation with them. I am not as
familiar with the California laws on access and have told my TA that this is
illegal per the ADA and will try to go ahead and have her book a room without
mentioning the presence of a Service Dog, although that will just delay the problem until I arrive.
I cannot believe that this is still going on!
Does anyone know whom I might contact at Disney to discuss this matter of their wayward Good neighbor?
(The General Manager's name is Kathy Lanzi, the number is
1-800-345-7057, in case someone, without Service Dog, HA!!, is looking for a decent place to stay after the cruise). $85
AAA rate...
Anyone wonder why I'm cranky about access issues?
