101 Dalmations is our golden retriever Sebastian's favorite movie! Whenever we have it on, he watches those puppies like they belong to him. It is pretty funny at first, cuz he will walk up to the screen, then walk behind the tv to see where they are and then come back to the front, lay down and watch the movie!!!

He loves Animal Planet too!

Linda

silly dog.........:fish: :cat: :confused3

Okay...so they have a fish and cat, but where is the dog?

It is bloody hot in Florida. Epcot was deserted, but hot....
Glad there's Amazing Race fans. I've never watched, but Jeff and I have been putting on an Amazing Race thru WDW in Decemeber....

What do you do for a living? Do you enjoy it?

I used to be a Special Officer for the local Sheriff's Dept. Now, I am a Mom and work part time out of my house for a non profit organization called cutouthunger.org. I really like it because it helps out the less priviledged and I feel like I make a little contribution to society. Plus I get to work around my kids' schedules and even in my pj's if I want! :)

What did I want to be when I grew up?

I wanted to be a truck driver originally. Now I hate car trips, boy am I glad I changed my mind! I also wanted to be a Secret Service or FBI Agent while in college. Although some days I think differently, I'm glad I became a Mom instead!

If you were stuck on a deserted island what would you bring and who is the last person you would want on that island with you?

I would bring soap, a lifetime supply of Diet Vanilla Pepsi, and a toothbrush! Last person on earth would have to be.... Anna Nicole Smith.

What's your favorite Disney movie?

Little Mermaid -- Regular movies? Any John Hughes movie from the '80s as well as Kiss the Girls, etc. - Patterson or Grisham books made into movies....

Why the Panama Canal cruise?

Just because it's a special itinerary and I get to stay on the ship for longer! I'd go anywhere if it's more than a week! But don't tell the school that!:)

Whoops...

Forgot to say I'm a HUGE fan of Amazing Race as well as most other 'reality' tv shows.

You can find me watching Survivor, The Apprentice, The Assistant, Road Rules/Real World Challenge, Trading Spouses.....

My DH finds it so boring....

I also like Amazing Race, but found this season unwatchable after the only contestants I liked were eliminated. :( My favorite team ever was team CHA-CHA-CHA!!!! They reminded me of a lot of my friends! LOL!!

Did any of you ever watch "The Mole"? In my opinion, it's the best reality game show. It requires brains, and it's very addictive. The first 2 seasons were hosted by Anderson Cooper (now on CNN), but when they didn't find a replacement for him they did "Celebrity Mole" with Amad Rashad. It was "ok", but I do wish they would bring back the original show...

Ok... Jenn here this time..I am a Dental Hygienist, love my job! I get to see lots of interesting people all day who tell me about all sorts of stuff! And I met Pete because he was a patient at the office I was working at!! Growing up I wanted to be a nurse, but decided I didn't really want to work weekends and holidays. If I was stuck on an island I would want Pete, toothbrush, floss, and my Journey's Greatest hits CD. My Favorite movies are Big, Sixteen Candles, Finding Nemo, and anything Harry Potter. We are doing the Panama cruise because Pete really wanted to, and who am I to deny my wonderful husband the chance to go through the canal on the Disney boat! As for a book, ask me that question again in 20 years when I have done way more interesting stuff!!

Hi Jenn:wave2:

I don't ever remember seeing you post here before. Pete must be the Disney nut in the house. Glad to meet you (indirectly) and am looking forward to meeting both of you in person!

Nice choices! Those and The Breakfast Club I like. My wife, back when she was still my girlfriend, bore a slight resemblance to Molly Ringwald. Sometimes people would approach her in restaurants thinking they'd spotted a celebrity. :D

Yes, sometimes I am able to squeeze some computer time in around Pete! Mostly I just lurk, and he fills me in on all the gossip at dinner!! Robin.. looking forward to meeting you also, and everyone else!! Not much longer now, I am starting to get so excited I could just bust!!:bounce: :bounce:

Hi Jenn!! I thought your answers regarding Peter were very sweet!!!!

I'm very excited about the cruise too. I am worried about every last detail. By the time May rolls around, I'm really going to need the vacation cuz I'm stressing myself out so much.

Did you guys really wait till the last minute for your hotel? I am just worried because I want to stay at Pop Century and I know the rooms book fast...

How long did you wait to book your flights?

-jindy

Jindy!

Please stop stressing! Here is my game plan for what it's worth. I booked Ron Jons months ago simply because I knew I really wanted to try it. However, the first thing that I asked them is what is the cancelation policy (to cover my rear) Can you book the Pop Century now and perhaps cancel later if you change your mind? Then you won't have to worry about it being booked up. The only draw back to booking Ron Jons so soon, is they required payment in full, but it will be reimbursed if I cancel within their time frame. (I am counting on Pete and Jenn to report back after their cruise)

The airlines is a different whole ball game. What I have found is when the bookings first open up for the date that you want, that will be the lowest price. They work on a price tier thing like Disney did for this cruise. That is not to say that they won't lower it at a later date, however I have received credit vouchers from both Delta and Jet Blue when they did that. You just have to keep watching online. I plan to book Jet Blue as soon as they open bookings. The only drawback to that is if you want to change the reservation, you have to pay penalties. So the air part, you should be sure when you really want to fly.

Don't worry, be happy!

Jindy I wouldn't book Pop Century until the end of the year but before the 90 day mark
We booked ours but that's because we wanted to take the direct flight, but it's a red eye, and wanted emergency exit row seats

Hello to everyone, Returning after a few weeks of just being plain busy. Did a couple of small trips........first off to, where else New Orleans,,,,,had fun there. Only for four days and then back to NJ.......then to Tenn., Smoky Mountains for a shower....two day drive and only two days there......had fun. Seen some of our friends and got to visit.

What do I do? Well, I am retired and babysit for my two beautiful grandchildren. Also am a caregiver to our friend of many years who is 89 yrs old and wheelchair bound. It is a great job and a busy one. I really like my co-workers.

What did I want to be when I grew up? Just a Mom and I have done that well. Have 3 great kids.

Favorite movie.....Michael, favorite Disney movie.....Beauty and the Beast............seen it on Broadway 3 times........also seen Lion King 3 times there and loved everyone.

Why this cruise because DH always wanted to do it and it will be fun with Disney.....

We are not booked for hotel or transfers pre cruise might look into this Ron Jons....why it this the best..........just asking..then renting a car........yu all really know what your doing here.

Our next cruise only 7 weeks away, will spend a week in DW first.

Oh yea, next week we're flying to CA and going to DL with our grandson.............can't wait..........any suggestions for what not to miss while we're there?

I agree with moocow35. No need to stress about the travel plans just yet.

Jindy, we're very likely going to fly out of San Jose (at this point Southwest is looking like the winner because of the one-way fare thing) on Friday and get a hotel close to the airport. I personally don't like spending a lot for one night. For example, for the 10-day cruise in December we're at WDW through Thursday night, then spending Friday night in the Marriott Renaissance. Got a really good deal through the Marriott web site, $87 a night. This way, I'm closer to the Port (Yay!!:bounce: ) and the transfer (we're booking a towncar for both trips) is less expensive than if we went all the way from WDW. If the Renaissance is nice, we'll probably do that again in May. But I won't worry about booking until we get back from the December trip.

Being a left-coaster, I will always fly in the day before because I know what kinds of delays come up when traveling that far. DH's best friend and his new wife missed the first three days of their 7-day Carribean cruise because they tried to fly in on the day the cruise left, and they were only going from VT to FL...Besides, I will be one of those vieing for the front of the boarding line, assuming my parents don't tell their 32-year old kid to "cool it" because I'm excited and rushing them...:p

Have a good weekend everyone...I'm off to get my hairs cut.

For the 10 day Disney Christmas Cruise, we are flying in on Friday the 17th and staying at the Fairfield Inn right at the airport. Free shuttle from the airport, free continental breakfast in the a.m. We paid an internet rate of $54. By the time we land on Friday and get luggage and all that stuff, there's just no way to make it over to WDW (especially since there are 13 of us!)

I'll let everyone know how that worked after we get back on dec. 28!

We have Happy Limo picking us up at 10:15 a.m. Sat. morning to take us to the ship!

Linda

I booked our 1 way Detroit - Orlando today on Spirit. We're flying in on Thursday AM to have two days at Boardwalk. With all the major airline problems out there I suspect one or two will fold by May, and the oil forecasts don't make me think that there will be major reductions in fuel costs, so the price looked right. Hopefully we'll be at Boardwalk by 11 AM for two full days at the parks before the cruise.

Now the only thing I've got left on the logistics to worry about is the ground transportation in Orlando and to the cruise. I'm thinking that renting a car may be about as cheap as limo or shuttles.

Anyone had experience in dropping off a car rental near the port?
