Hey, does anyone know how DCL is celebrating the million year of dreams? The annual Chicago Disney parade is million year themed. I will be working, so I can't go. :sad2:

Hey Guys!

A question to those who know... When is the WDW Marathon? I know a lot of you will be participating in this. I don't know if we can get down or not (not to run, but to visit). But it sure would be great seeing everyone.

:rainbow: :magnify: :rainbow:

Who is planning on participating?

Thanks!

First weekend in January---I think the 6th & 7th. I have been meaning to post and see who is running and which events- with the possibility of doing a mini meet.

Guys! I saw this on another thread. We love the music to EPCOT'S Illuminations. Take a look at what someone did to their Christmas light display...

http://ebaumsworld.com/2006/07/xmaslights4.html

I wonder what their neighbors think! :rotfl:

Very, very cool. Robb wonders if it is a real display or if someone did it all on computer and the trees & lights were generated and not real. I think it's real and that someone is much more talented than I could ever be....and I wonder what comptuer program was used to run them- are there programs that would do that?

Anyone?

Hi Georgie

The 1/2 marathon is Sat. Jan. 6 and the full marathon is Sun. Jan 7. Shari, Alex and Carolyn are planning on doing both. Linda (seaulater) and daughter Jamie are doing the 1/2 marathon.

There is a whole community who do this stuff as the hobby. You can build or buy the controllers that hook up to a computer. So with the light controllers and the program you can make your lights dance to the music. Takes along time to get the music and light timing correct, many many hours so I have read but it's so cool. Some of these people run 64 light channels and have to add more power to their house just to handle all the lights. I have links to the sites if anybody wants them

I can only imagine how much they spend on computer equipment, software, and light...not to mention power. :guilty: It is nice that they do that though! When it quiets down today, I'll have to look at those sites. (I'm at work today and pretty busy!)

Thanks for the links!

Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. Safe travels to one and all.

Enjoy the weekend, as we all have many things to be thankful for.

Good Morning All! :wave2:

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Just taking a break from the ads. Trying to decided if the cheap prices are worth the Black Friday aggravation . :surfweb:
Tippy is helping Lee's mom cook the ham for dinner this afternoon. Supposed to be 18 total at our meal.
Should be a wonderful day with family and friends and, I am sure, a great dinner.
The weather plans to cooperate...sunny and the high 50's.

Hope everyone's Thanksgiving is a magical day.

Hi all, this is the first time I have been to the boards since the 11 day cruise. Scott came home to Jackson last night with a big trailer to haul the motorcycles back to Cheyenne in. I get to work today until 5pm, maybe someone will feel sorry for us and bring us some food! I have spent the last 2 weeks working, packing, and working on Christmas cards, calling everyone about change of address. Scott will be packing up trailer today. The mover is moving us this weekend, I will be in the house with a sleeping bag, TV dinners and dog food for the next week. If all goes well, I will drive to Cheyenne with the dogs on Friday, Dec. 1. My last day of work is Nov 30, then I am retired!   Then, I will be busy unpacking, for who knows how long, in Cheyenne.

I've only read back a couple of pages, congratulations Celeste! Happy belated birthdays and anniversaries!

That was the most amazing light show I've ever seen!!! I bet it drives the neighbors nuts, but WOW!

Happy Thanksgiving everybody! We got something that gave us more than usual to be thankful for.... We're going to be grandparents AGAIN!!!!! Our oldest son and his wife are expecting in July! They sent us the cutest video with hints that she was pregnant, then announced it at the end. So, next year will see our youngest son married and 2 grandkids!!! WOW! Can you tell that we're happy???? LOL. Have a great Thanksgiving!

I'm a day late... and STUFFED to boot!

Yesterday, it poured and was cold. Today it is bright, sunny and WARM!!!

Too bad the Macy's parade couldn't have been today.

Greetings to all of our crusing friends!

Scott... good luck moving into your new home. I'm sure you and Lynn have been SUPER BUSY!!!

Christmas at Arlington and one big, American thank-you is certainly due to Merrill Worcester and the Worcester Wreath Co. of Harrington, Maine. To do something like this year after year is above and beyond the call of duty. Here's a salute to you, Merrill, and I hope you get many more.

I had never heard of this. I have only visited in the summer months. I wonder why the press hasn't enlightened the public about it?

Rest easy, sleep well my brothers.

Know the line has held, your job is done.

Rest easy, sleep well.

Others have taken up where you fell, the line has held.

Peace, peace, and farewell...

Readers may be interested to know that these wreaths -- some 5,000 -- are donated by the Worcester Wreath Co. of Harrington, Maine. The owner, Merrill Worcester, not only provides the wreaths, but covers the trucking expense as well. He's done this since 1992. A wonderful guy. Also, most years, groups of Maine school kids combine an educational trip to DC with this event to help out. Making this even more remarkable is the fact that Harrington is in one the poorest parts of the state.

You hear too much about the bad things people do. Everyone should hear about this!

Wow! That's something Peter. :thumbsup2 Thanks or posting this. I had never heard that this was done... and donated! It would be nice to see this publicized. I'm sure if someone famous made the donation, this would be front page news.

Worcester Wreath Co. of Harrington, Maine, products are available from LL Bean, I did some research as this guy will get my business, looking to see if I can purchas direct from them.

Well Turkey day and the whole weekend were spent packing and cleaning. Lynn still has a bunch to do. She is a real trooper working hard.

I am back in Cheyenne and Lynn should be here on 12/1, her birthday, I better plan something, like a special TV diner or pizza.

It was good to see the pups.
