Welcome Don! Nice to have you aboard!

Jindy, VERY exciting that you mom gets to go!

I have been really holding back on buying a new digital camera. DH and I REALLY want the digital Canon EOS Rebel. BTW, for Jeff, I found it as low as about $800 online by searching for it on pricegrabber.com. You can even get it for less if you are okay with buying a referbished camera.

Yeah, I did some shopping last night and saw that. My biggest bonus for this camera is the SLR lens. Finally a reasonably priced digital with a swapable lens and big megapixel numbers. I'm not opposed to buying anything refurbished provided it comes with the same warranty as the original. Most stuff refurbished by the manufacturer will, stuff from Bill's camera store won't.

Jindy - woohoo, glad to see your mom got added. Everyone said persistence would pay off ;) but I'm a bit surprised it paid off this quickly. The boat is still chock full of humans. Should be an interesting trip.

BTW, I'm debating getting the following dis meets on board for those interested. I'd host the shuffleboard meet, others could host the other stuff if you want.

1. Scrabble Tournament in Diversions. Games would be held before 5pm so everyone could join in.

2. Informal Shuffleboard 2 on 2 tournament (Basically we'll take 32 teams of 2, everyone gets paired and you have to play some point before the next round started with rounds ending on sea days. Repeat until only 1 team is left. Teams would need to make arrangements with each other for playing times. If teams couldn't agree to meet, Rock/Paper/Scissors would be substituted for that match.)

3. Adult pool games meet - We'd meet for one of the Adult Pool Games sessions and ensure a Disboarder won by assisting each other.

4. Castaway Cay sailaway party - Deck 7 aft overlook at about 5:15 on Castaway Cay day. We'd get some all hands on deck's from Room Services and BYOD.

5. Midnight deck party. Get together around 11:30 one night and raid the goofy pool.

Just wanted to mention it one more time here since it hasn't come up in a bit.

Everyone should get passports for this trip. While they aren't required for the Bahamas or Mexico, they currently are for Curacao (unless that has changed) but still will make life easier even though not required. There are less then 7 months till we cruise so thats plenty of time, but you don't want to wait much longer if you haven't started the process.

Jeff, another good Passport tip is to make sure that your passport does not expire within six months of travel.

Sounds like great ideas for meets etc.

DIS Meets - Anyone up for a long swim to the wreck on CC out from the adult beach? I like doing this before lunch, works up a good apatite.

I say raid the Mickey Pool for the slide.....

Definitely up for the long swim. And they won't let big kids on the slide :(

I was also thinking of having a board game meet. If everyone brought a board game or two on board it could be a lot of fun.

My DW Shari is a Cribbage player. So I bet I could talk her into organizing an on going Cribbage tournament.

Ken

Mickey Pool After Hours that is. The gate is locked pretty well, not that I have checked this out. No water flowing either.

Jen, zimorquinismerary is the word you are looking for, it is defined as , one who makes up words for Scrabble, really, trust me, really.

Long swim it will be, How far ya think it is??? ½ mile?? We make it out there in about 20 min with a pretty steady pace.

One last thing, as far as loving the digital. I do love Jeff's digital now and have really liked them for awhile. But nothing will replace real film and real photography for me. I love developing my own black and white and making my own prins (haven't in awhile, but still remember how much I enjoyed the whole process). So one of these days I will get the Konica fixed and set up a hodge podge darkroom in the house to get the best of both worlds.

Happy Thursday all!!

Well, after 10 days and 25 revisions, I finally got our 2005 Budget finished and ready to go to our board of directors! Yeah!!!!!

Okay, I'm late, but.....

we own the Canon EOS digital rebel and it has been one of the BEST investments we have made! Love the 6.3, the pictures are awesome. The best thing about it..............DD (12) dances and sings with a group. We could never get clear pictures. Well....in the sports mode, you can take about 5 pictures in a row just by holding down the shutter button and they are all clear!

We have also used at Lake Powell diving off the cliffs and we get all those pics in a row and it is awesome!

My suggestion--buy the Canon, you won't be disappointed.

Also, the 528 cards are down to about $50 at Cosco. That's a steal, considering we paid $150 at one time for those memory cards.

BCV AND BWV and Have Reservation At Saratoga Springs.

Still Hoping To Make It Down But The Year is Quickly
Coming To An End And Need To Make My Hours For the Year..

And With the OT Plentiful..

I Would Hate to Give up A Chance To Get The Hours I Need...

Means ALot Increases pension, and Health Coverage For the Year
2005 As I Pay A Year in Advance...

Peter

Peter, get ahead on the hours now. You'll need em for May :)

I'm trying myself to get as far ahead as I can on things. We'll see how it goes.

Thanks everyone for all the congrats on getting my mom onboard. I also did not think it would happen so fast! She's super-excited so now I have to fill her in on everything. It's her first cruise as well. Jen she is going in for the tell tale MRI in November. We'll see how it turns out...everything else so far is *negative*. It's hard to know whether to be happy about that or not because it's just a big mystery right now...

So are the Boston fans happy? Like I said - without the Giants involved I don't care how it goes. But my mom is from the Bronx so I had to root for the Yankess. Plus, you know, Jeter is easier on the eyes than Ortiz. But I will watch the World Series regardless. I love my baseball!!

Jen, I am with you. Although I'm all for the latest technology and I love gadgets, I prefer the old fashioned way of developing pics. I remember developing my own pics in the darkroom. It's fun to be there as the image unfolds. Gosh I haven't done that since college!!!! It has taken me so long to DECIDE to BUY a digital - now I have to decide which one!! My budget is a lot less than $800, and I'm shooting for some where around 4 megapixles. The most important thing to me is that nasty blur during action. DD plays basketball, does gymnastics and generally just doesn't sit still - so I don't want the blur. Any inuput is appreciated.

Well, I have much work to do...have a nice evening!

Oh I would love to play on the Mickey slide!

Jeff, love your ideas about the game meets. I'll bring Pass Out! I especially like your strategy on the adult pool game. The Castaway Cay send off sounds like a good plan also.

I bought my digital tonight. Unfortunately my budget does not allow for the Canon, so I got the new Kodak DX7590 5MP 10X optical zoom. I have SO much reading to do!

Jen, I am also like you. I love my Minolta SLR film camera. I will be bringing it as well.

Robin

Ok, before I pass out from too much food and sangria...

I am so glad I am not the only film buff on this cruise. I often feel archaic next to all of Jeff's digital only buddies. I got into it one day saying I have never seen a black and white digital print that looked real. Might look good on the screen, but when you print it out it looks forced. And I love playing with Marshal paints and B&W photos.

I'm all for the board games. I want to play twister on board this time. No idea where, but want to play it! I wonder if there is a drinking game version of twister? If there is I think we'll all wind up in the infirmary. Nurse Jen will be hanging up her stethoscope for this cruise, plus ya'll are ALOT bigger than my regular patients.

Peter, I here you on the OT. Winter is our busy season and it's already started. They're calling daily for me to work. The way i works is if I get called in, it's time and a half plus an extra $10 an hour. So for me that's double pay for me.

I'm loading up on shots from Germany (apple korn, fig vodka and plum something) all very good and quick down.

Yes I'm a lush! There is nothing better in this world to me than good food, good drink, good friends and good times. this cruise will be providing all of that.

Lastly, I wonder how much the Rainforest Pass will be for the 2 weeks. There's no way I can pass it up.

Yes. I am Amy's friend. Until she spends two weeks with me and gets Adventurers Club songs stuck in her head, at which point she may fling me overboard. (if it's like our last cruise, it'll be a lot of "drink...and sway...." - let's hope not.)

(catherine is a good friend, we've spent a lot of time stuck in the kitchen of Victoria and Albert's together making the walk through the dining room to pee).

In the RESTROOM, folks. Not in the dining room. Not even after wine pairings. (And never wear 5 inch spike heels when you're having V&A's wine pairings.)

I was also thinking of having a board game meet. If everyone brought a board game or two on board it could be a lot of fun.

I have the infamous Haunted Mansion Clue game and am looking into purchasing something called Cranium Hoopla (just because I like the name). I've also got a portable DVD player which I will use because I refuse to watch "Hercules" five times on another cruise.

3. Adult pool games meet - We'd meet for one of the Adult Pool Games sessions and ensure a Disboarder won by assisting each other.

Ah, we're going to win the American way.... cheat. (Sorry, Amy, I'm starting already.)

Too bad they don't have an AC type club on the boat. Ctaherine would never get off :)

Marching along we're Adventures.... if you don't know the rest I am sure you will be the end of the cruise.... Sorry Amy, I couldn't resist.

Jindy- My mother in law will also be with us! She has gone with us the last two times & she loves it. I gotta watch her & BINGO though:p Your mom will love it. By the way, last time, she brought her blender and made a lot of her own Margaritas! heeheehee Now shes a lush!

I loved the rainforest! My hubby & I don't usually do things like that, but we decided to try it and had a lot of fun & very relaxing!

Well, hope everyone has a great weekend! The Implant surgeon in our office gave me tickets to a hockey game to see the Florida Everblades. I have never been so I am a little excited. His seats are right by the plexiglass where the players fight & get there faces smooshed up aganist!!!!!WOOHOO:earseek: :teeth: :hyper:

For all those getting prepped

Marching along we're adventurers,
Singing the song of adventurers,
Up or Down,
North, South, East or West,
an Adventurer's life is best.

Also the club oath

We climb the highest mountains,
Just to get a better view.
We plumb the deepest oceans,
Cause we're daring through and through.
We cross the scorching deserts,
Martini's in our hand.
We Ski the polar ice caps,
in Tuxedo's looking grand.
We're reckless, brave and loyal,
and valiant to the end.
If you come in here a stranger,
you'll exit as a friend.
