Well all I can say is the state I live in (Florida ) just passed legislation not to require vaccinations for children before they enter school. For those of us that do believe in vaccines and how it benefits the public in general —- we are screwed

What I do not understand is what politician would take this chance. When the epidemic does hit Florida, which with all the visitors is inevitable, Desantis's career is over

The vast majority of Cardiologists recommend it because covid has a higher chance of heart damage than the vaccine. So yes, just listen to "your" Dr since we can debate this till the cows come home. Personally, as I stated earlier we've never missed getting any of the boosters. Same for all the vaccines out there.

None of my doctors have recommended getting a Covid shot or booster. In fact several have advised against it. Probably comes down the political beliefs of the doctors. And the people on the receiving end of the vaccines.

Certain viral strains mutate/evolve at a much faster rates than others. Vaccines also have to evolve to keep up with them.

Don’t believe I was responding to you. I also have a brain and stopped after getting the 2 original covid vaccines. Those 2 have done enough damage to me. Wish I could go back in time and not have gotten any covid shots. Crazy to me that people are still getting boosters.

Changes in viral genetics can be tracked. Vaccines can be modified. mRNA technology is very flexible.

Except that didn't happen. I moved DD to a private school in '20 in the next county over because it was open while both public and private in LA County were closed through the school year in '21. There were no big outbreaks, Grandma did not die.
We did it your way, so this is pure conjecture, but what would have happened if we had NOT shut the schools down and, those who were not getting seriously ill (the kids), all got sick first and the disease mutated before it got to be wide-spread? Would that not have saved lives?
Before you answer, that's kinda what happened with my family. My kids' HS had what we called the "plague" in December '19 -everyone was sick. The sickest any of us got was Christmas of that year. Urgent care after urgent care had no idea why DW in particular was so sick. After that, yeah, we got it once or twice, but not seriously enough to even get tested. Loss sense of smell was the only way I knew I had it. DD was tested because she got Strep Throat. I got sick after spending Thanksgiving with my (fully vaxed at the time) 80 year old uncle in '21. It was fine, would do it again.
If you want to get the shots, knock yourself out. If it's not worth a Dr's visit, maybe re-think that. It's up to you, but I'm 100% out, pandemic over, time to learn from our mistakes.

They get boosters and then post about how sick they got from the boosters and how they've have gotten covid multiple times, but they are convinced they only reason they are above ground is because they got the boosters. I see these posts over and over on this forum. It's baffling to me especially with recent developments and some of the studies coming out of Japan. They are still convinced they are saving grandma.

Well, I have underlying conditions and all my specialists say a covid vaccine will have to be a part of my life.
