Are you here in Orlando now? I can't believe the pressure you, and the Red Cross must be under, and if there's anything more we can do beyond donating, please let us know. My son Nick, who lives in Tallahassee now, is leaving tomorrow morning with a group of guys from church to help with the rescue effort in Alabama. I made sure he's taking a comprehensive first aid kit as well as his work gloves etc.

I just got an email from my hospital requesting 100 vol. for 2 to 4 weeks. Rush is going to set up one of the field hospitals. If I wasn't so new at the hospital, I would go in a heart beat. I know that many places are starting to accept donations- including used clothing. My church is looking into diaster relief- if I find any interesting options- other than cash donations- I will post them.

DH employer sending $500,000 immediately for relief effort and will match $2.00 for every $1.00 contributed by an employee. We are in the process of completing paperwork for our contribution.

Everyone check with your employer for a possible match to your contribution.

Thanks! I appreciate your thoughts. It's a wonderful thing when a son decides to take his holiday weekend to go help out people in need. It's scary, but he promised to be careful, and he'll be with a group from church, so I'm just adding him to my prayers for the vicitms of this terrible tragedy.

I am just over whelmed at the response of our group and their companys and/or friends and just everyone that has contributed to the hurricane victims.

My sisters and their husbands and their entire church and others have formed a group to go to AL to help with what they can.

my words are really not proper, but all know what I want to say. I feel so very fortunate to do what I do - I am actually at a loss of words - I feel so very deeply for all the victims

Scott: The only goodies they handed out were waving hands which should be on the ship tomorrow as well. Got backups for ya just in case...... I didn't think the donuts and ice tea would hold up ... so we ate those in your honor....

Hope everyone is reading the "live from the Wonder" thread that is ongoing for the Member Cruise.

We are having a great time.

Tomorrow (Monday) I will be blowing the "MICKEY HORN" as we arrive in Key West. I am so excited to be doing this again.

I went on the cast website yesterday to see what Disney is doing for hurricane relief. They have sent 2.5 milllion to the Red Cross and are encouraging cast members to contribute too. I'm so glad!!!!

Summer is officially over! Yikes!
Anyways, I hope everyone had a great weekend. Robb and I had some fun...after I woke up at 3pm on Saturday after working all night Friday. I don't think working nights is natural- do you think the patients can take care of themselves? We ended up driving upto Milwaukee on Sat. night to get custard at Kopps- super yummy. This is the stuff that Oprah recommends. Sunday we drove around, went to dinner, and did lots of shopping. Monday we went to the water park at Six Flags- I listened to the music from the DCL cast away CD we got in the mail a few months ago....I almost could pretend I was sitting by the Mickey pool.

To get my Disney fix in over the weekend and morning myself not being at the cruise terminal or WDW- We listened the Disney music all weekend. Noah is pretty good a guessing the songs- usually after a few seconds of music- he can tell what song it is. He must get that from his father.

I also found that some of the natural food stores around here sell Mightly Leaf tea- the stuff from Palo. So I picked up some of the African Nectar and plan on drinking it here tongiht. The bags are really beautiful- silken pouches with all of the beautiful herbs inside- very pretty. However most of the flavors only come in loose teas.

I am getting really excited about coming down to WDW in October. It seems like we haven't been there in forever. Despite this upcoming trip, I am a little stressed out about our next trip in January. My left knee continues to make the aweful bone on bone noise when I stand up from low level positions and it has started to really hurt when I walk for more than 4 miles. I don't know if I should cancel the January race for next year or keep on training? Any suggestions?

My TA is stationed on the west coast and only sells cruise trips for DCL. She saw the photo taken (before we boarded the ship for the Panama cruise). of Kim, Jen, Jenn & Lynne. She would like to use the photo on her web site. So her question is do any of you have a problem with her using the photo? Her web-site company can crop anyone out of the photo if they do not want to be seen. PLMK.
