So what is everyone thinking??

Rates are a bit pricey.... and 6 days at sea and just a few ports.

Hmmmm.... Repo still looks good but the 11 day looks good too.

Debbie

Since we booked the Panama Canal late...these prices are in line with what we paid....of course you do have to factor in airfare back from Barcelona....I'm thinking I may try for the May Repo.....

I also called DCL - Castaway Club to confirm when they will start booking the cruises....I spoke to a really nice CM who told me that bookings start April 4th but they are not sure what time they will be available. She also told me that if you currently have a reservation you can "switch" it, but depending on the deposit amount, you may have to add to your current deposit amount.

While I think the 10 and 11 night itineraries sound exciting...I think it is too many port days in a row and I understand it is VERY hot in the Mediterranean in the summer so I am concerned about Mom and I being very exhausted from being on the go and with the heat.

What is everyone else thinking???????

I just watched Tom McAlpin's interview on the news and he just said that the Magic will go over to the Med, but no dates or ports... bummer!

However, I looked in my 'special' spot online and found the ports listed...here they are:
The Disney Magic will depart from Barcelona, Spain in the summer of 2007 and will stop at the following ports:

-- Palermo, Sicily

-- Naples, Italy, with access to Pompeii

-- Olbia, Sardinia

-- Civitavecchia, Italy, with access to Rome

-- La Spezia, Italy, with access to Florence and Pisa

-- Marseille, France

-- Villefranche , France

It doesn't say a lot about prices, but it does say the 10-11 day alternating Med cruises start at $2,399. That's the best I can do for now...

I'm booking the 14 day eastbound. Robert will be coming, just because I have him booked on it too!

I think those "disboard" people will drive Rachel and crew nuts after 6 days in a row at sea.

And if I want to go down the Mickey slide, does that mean I can get the rate for a 6-12 year old?

Renae-go to the DCL website all the dates, ports, etc., are up on the website now along with prices.

Linda

I'll watch for the white suits while you go down the slide!!!!!!

I'm thinking that there wouldn't be too many kids again on the Repo...six days at sea.....

Since the cruise starts at Castaway Cay...I will be slathering on the sunblock....don't want to have a nasty sunburn like I got this past Friday.....who knew the tops of your feet could get sunburned!!!! :rotfl2:

Only 14 more days until the bookings open up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Leslie and I told many of the staff that we would see them on May 12, 2007....and they all laughed....wouldn't it be funny if many of the "Lanyard People" invaded the Magic AGAIN!!!!

We did have a funny pin story....We ran into Mary Jo onboard on day 1....we asked about any special pins and she laughed.....just in case they were going on sale first thing in the morning....we waited in line....

Elaine,

Great pic of you and the girls in line... I knew Leslie couldn't keep it 'on the Magic' LOL!!!

We're going to go for the first Med cruise. Eric spent 2 years in Italy as a missionary and we really want to go back there together. We'd love to do the repo too, all those sea days sound great to us... but his boss would have a coronary! She thinks a week is too long to be away from work....

Renae

I LOVE the pin line... but you're not in your PJ's! ;)

I'm thinking the Med cruises are out for us.

I've never really had the desire to cruise Europe. Just too much ground to cover with only a day in each port. Of course this is coming from someone who felt like 30 days on the continent was not nearly enough and just barely skimmed the surface.

If I had plenty of extra $$$ laying around... I'd sure give it a try though.
The 10 and 11 day itineraries do sound pretty exhausting to me.

I'd love to do one of the repos - but don't think it will be happening for us in 2007.
Remind me again... exactly how important is it really to send the kids to college? ;)

I'll be watching to see who books what and will definitely be looking for your trip reports though.

Robb and I are interested in the Eastbound repo- and I am interested in the first 11 night. We'll see what happens- maybe I will start picking up LOTS of overtime! :rotfl2:

Elaine and Leslie- the pictures were great.

Since you are probably all dying to hear about our incredible Western cruise........Here's my trip report........

Drove to Florida in record time and arrived in time to get in a few hours at the parks (had to say we visited the parks before our cruise!!!!!!!!!!!)

Saturday March 11....after a few short hours of sleep (Leslie & I)....Mom, Leslie, Joe and I boarded the Magic....

Saturday March 18....had to leave the Magic behind after 7 glorious days of fun, sun and lots of laughter.....I'd love to share more but....

DisneyPinDiva said:
Elaine......... behave yourself... I have bathing suit photos........:rotfl2:
Drove home in record time...obeying all speed limits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are hoping for the Eastbound Repro BUT the $ is more than we were hoping for... Joe wants a balcony. I would settle for a window view. Cost will be our decision factor.

Sure would be great to be with everyone again! How is it in Cat 11 or 12... besides no window... would you be okay with 6 days at sea???

I was hoping for a stop in Bermuda before leaving for Europe... and an excursion to DL Paris...

We'll see. We have to wait til the 4th...

P.S. Bob....I heard Pluto was sending postcards from Castaway Cay to some of his pals and I happened to hear that there was a postcard whose destination was somewhere in Indiana...
