My sister had my 3 1/2 yr old nephew record an I love You ... see you soon message. She ran in the medical waiting room just before I was wheeled down for my breast cancer surgery, and played it for me. I have it to this day and still play it when I need a warm fuzzy memory to look back to! :lovestruc

Oh Georgie....now I know why you have such a good outlook on life. ;)

Steve- my parents put a copy of the bill from the hospital in my baby book, I enjoyed seeing how much I cost. Especially when I got a copy of the breakdown of what my insurance paid for us to have Noah, over $10K at their price....original bill prior to insurance was over $30K!!! :rolleyes1 Who knew that 4 days of being in the hosptial could cost so much! (I should also add that I had an unplanned c-section after 36 hours of labor. ;) ) By the way, your mileage is incredible- I'm jealous. I couldn't work out earlier this week due to papers for school and I knew you'd kill me on the miles...oh well. I'm not competative at all :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

My idea was already taken....an Olympic pin. :goodvibes Seriously, I have a framed set of the "day" pins from the 2002 Olympics, since I worked in Park City. It's amazing how quickly these 4 years have gone!!!

It's a great set, here's some examples:
Day 1:The opening ceremony
Day 2:2 of Utah's favs Ice cream and jello (Can you think of anything MORE worthy of a pin!!)
Day 5:Utah's 5 Natl Parks
Day 10:10 Competition Venues
Day 13:The average depth of the Grea Salt Lake (13 feet)
Day 16:16 Days of hockey competition

I also REALLY like Elaine and Margaret's idea of a personal letter, but I wouldn't stop there.....if you're writers, one on every Bday or something!

Oh, and see how those berets go this time!! I, personally, don't think they'll be the huge success they were in SL, though....we'll see if I'm right or not.... :confused3

I was so sad and proud during the last olympic games. I loved growing up in Utah and was proud that others got to see how beautiful Utah was---and very sad that I could not be there to see any of it. I tried to get the Olympic pin that was the jello mold (the one that opened), I don't remember being successful....

I love Park City, if I could afford to live there, I would move back to Utah.

Calling on fellow Repo-ers for ideas!!!

Inspired by a thread on the Disney for Families boards here, I'm going to make a little time capsule thing for Emma for the day and year she is born to show her what things were like. I've already thought to get a local and national newspaper from the day she is born but this thread lists several other good ideas which I might consider:

-Technical/Computer magazine to show where technology was
-Order a 2006 coin set from the U.S. Mint
-Download from iTunes and make a CD of the Billboard top 10 songs from the day
-Magazines like People, Time, Newsweek
-Farmer's Almanac
-Movie listings and grocery advertisements from the next Sunday paper to see what was playing and what food cost
-Photograph a local gas station sign to show what gas prices were
-Since she will most likely be born during the Olympics, something to commemorate them (any ideas?)
-A stamp with the current price
-A TV Guide for the week to see what shows were on

I want to put something from the Repo cruise in there as well as a copy of all the congratulations emails and posts we've gotten about her announcement. I will also put our 2006 Disney planning books and DVD in there to show what was at WDW/DL/DCL for the year. Does anyone else have any ideas of things that would be neat to save for her?

Thanks in advance!

Steve

Steve & Amy :sunny:
I have a Few things From the Cruise, that I would love to see go in the Capsule.. please pm us your address.. I know what you are all thinking (Elaine) and it is true we are terrible with addresses :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I love the baby time capsule!
When are you going to set the opening date for?

I know I'm on the computer just about everyday. How about printing out a screenshot of whatever home page you use? It will probably duplicate some of your newspaper headlines... but might be kind of fun too.
I know MSN shows the top 5 computer searches - that might be neat.

How about picking up a set of Disney dollars for 2006?
I framed a $1 a $5 and a $10 from the year DD #2 was born and now all the kids want a set. It's not always easy finding the year you need after the fact.

Celeste, if you ever figure out a way to swing the Park City thing let me know. I'll come be your neighbor!

Great ideas Sheila! The homepage I use is just a blank page with my favorite links I check frequently. A screen capture of some pages is a great idea though. Hmm, I'll have to give that some thought... I might have to give someone I know some homework as I may be a little busy that day! :woohoo:

The Disney Dollars is also a great idea. I've never used them. Do they print the year right on them? How can I request them with the current year on them? I'll be at Disneyland and WDW in November so I can try to buy them then. At least I can see them to make sure. Hopefully I can also make sure they are in good condition.

Peter, check your PM! Thanks so much!

Steve

I was SO bummed when I heard I wasn't going to be assigned to SLC....after all, THAT'S where the Olympics were gonna be......:rotfl2: I'd never heard of PC... :confused3

I could see the ski jumping from my hotel room!!! :thumbsup2 I think I have that jello pin, unless you're talking about the REALLY $$$$$ one.....just like Disney pins, I get the ones that mean something to me.....and this mold looks like one my Mom had when I was a kid.....I know I don't have any of the $$$$ ones.....

Hi Kids, Here at teh Port Lucaya Marina, it is where several of the extras for POC II and III are staying. Supposedly filming close by, will get pics if we can. Weather has kept us in port yesterday, and we should get out today.

Great ideas you guys for the time Pod.

The boat a couple of slips down from us is named "Sea U Later" it is from Washington, DC.

:sunny: GOOD MORNING EVERYONE :sunny:
Cloudy and 28° F (?° C) here. Been a busy morning. Breakfast at Cracker Barrel (that's health food right?), a little shopping, and a long walk to get caught up on my miles. Working on taxes this afternoon. :badpc:

For all those who got snow and/or cold, my brother sent this to me right before he left on vacation-

Don't you just hate it when people brag about their vacations? Nah. Wish I was there.....all 11 days.

Hey have a great day. Onely 31 weeks until the 11 Days in Paradise!

I was just thinking today how good it is that Steve and Amy don't live in the northeast...and how there are probably a LOT of people in their position that DO.... :guilty: We're thinking about you two!!!

I sure hope Scott left his ladder out, and the beer in the cooler....we take down Christmas lights for cheap, but not for free!!! :goodvibes Funny, we'll see his house before he will again!!!

Has everyone up there in the NE dug out from the "Blizzard of 06" yet?
Georgie & Joe?? Where are you???

Steve and Amy............it's almost D-Day!!!! Any contractions?? Keep us posted!!
It's 47º here right now and we're freezing!!! (Okay I know I'm not going to get any sympathy) But I did not move to South Florida to FREEZE!!! This is ridiculous! There is actually a FREEZE warning. Whatever that is!! :confused3

Mom and I would like to wish all our Repo cruise family.....

 Happy Valentine's Day
