I need a little help...we are spending Quincy's princess: 5th birthday at Disneyland :thumbsup2...any suggestions on special things to do for her big day? We have friends and their kids (Q's bestfriends) meeting us for dinner at Ariel's Grotto and are spending two days at the park. Other than that I haven't found anything online for b-days. Does anyone have more info?

Thanks!

We will miss you by 1 day. We will be there on the 17th.

I don't really have any advise on what to do other then have a great time. I guess they have character meals at the Disneyland Hotel. That might be fun.

Ken

Laurie,

Check out this link:

It's from 4/2005, but I would guess most of it would still be current.
Definitely get a birthday sticker for Quincy to wear.

Looks like we'll just miss you as well.
DD has a gymnastics meet in Long Beach on 2/19
We'll be at DL either the 17, 18 or 20th (maybe a couple of those days if I get my way) ;)

Ken, would love to say hello if we end up there on the same day as you!

Hey all...

Just checking in for 2 secs. Hope all is well with everyone. We have two DCL this year. Both on the Wonder. Sept 17 (I think) and then back in October for the DVC owner cruise (I think the 22nd).

Hopefully we can get together with some of you while in Florida.

Linda

Sorry to hear we will miss you and your families, Ken and Sheila. :guilty:

Thanks for the note about the sticker, Shiela. I will definately get one for Q. She is so excited about her birthday. She thinks Ariel is going to make her a cake! :wizard: :wizard: princess:

Hey, I just saw a new DCL mailing sent out to cruisers on the Wonder. It was an advanced mailing regarding excursion bookings, very well done. It was called My Cruise Travel kit. Inside there was a booklet very similar to the small photo albums we saw on the 14 day Repro.

We didn't receive anything like this when we sailed in September last year. While looking through the excursion list, I expected to see the Stingray encounter at CC... Nope, not there. Maybe DCL decided it would be too much trouble for them. Instead there is one listed at Nassau "Blackbeard's Cay Beach & Stingray Adventure". There is also a "Blue Lagoon Dolphin Encounter" 5-7 hours.

So, it looke like changes are ahead for the Nassau excursions. Just wanted to share!

Happy Thursday!

Thanks for passing on the information Georgie.

Keep up the great job with the walking...you'll be at WDW in no time!!!!

JUSTA QUICK HELLO TO EVERYONE HOPE ALL IS WELL BEEN VERY BUSY UNPACKING AND ETC.

:cool1: YES WE MOVED TO ORLANDO FROM CHICAGO :cool1:

  WE WILL BE HEADING TO ST. KITTS SOON SO WILL LET Y'ALL KNOW ABOUT IT

Calling on fellow Repo-ers for ideas!!!

Inspired by a thread on the Disney for Families boards here, I'm going to make a little time capsule thing for Emma for the day and year she is born to show her what things were like. I've already thought to get a local and national newspaper from the day she is born but this thread lists several other good ideas which I might consider:

-Technical/Computer magazine to show where technology was
-Order a 2006 coin set from the U.S. Mint
-Download from iTunes and make a CD of the Billboard top 10 songs from the day
-Magazines like People, Time, Newsweek
-Farmer's Almanac
-Movie listings and grocery advertisements from the next Sunday paper to see what was playing and what food cost
-Photograph a local gas station sign to show what gas prices were
-Since she will most likely be born during the Olympics, something to commemorate them (any ideas?)
-A stamp with the current price
-A TV Guide for the week to see what shows were on

I want to put something from the Repo cruise in there as well as a copy of all the congratulations emails and posts we've gotten about her announcement. I will also put our 2006 Disney planning books and DVD in there to show what was at WDW/DL/DCL for the year. Does anyone else have any ideas of things that would be neat to save for her?

Thanks in advance!

Steve

T and D congrats on the move to a warmer area, Good for you guys. Have a good trip.

Steve and Amy, great idea, maybe add some menus, or grocery store adds to relate to cost of every day items, including gas.

Lost luggage was the event of the day. Peter Greenberg was right, there are two types of luggage, Lost and carry on. Just delayed getting to the hotel for the evening. All was found, so much fro bag matching.

OK why do you need to be to the airport two hours early for a one hour flight? And what is up with these “baby change” areas in the bathrooms? Does that mean if you don’t like your kid you can go there and change them out for a different one? I digress.

Will be outa touch for the next several days, and we wish Emma a safe and wonderful arrival. Oh Steve, I hope CD's work when Emma is older, as gone are the days of those big round black record things and 8 track's.

Hey Tap and Dap,

Welcome to Orlando!!!!! That's wonderful!!!! Are you settled yet? Would you like to meet? Are you serious about working part time or seasonal at Disney? Eric could really give you some great pointers, as he's seasonal at Cirque' du Soliel..... PM me and we can exchange numbers...

night/morning all...
I'm going to bed!
Renae

Hey Steve,

How are you guys holding up? Is Amy doing ok? We're anxiously awaiting word!!!!

Renae

Steve,

At the risk of starting an overnight floor slumber party..... how about an olympic pin?

Renae

OOOOHHHH,

You need a Michael's ad too, since both you and Amy scrap! Once Emma has arrived, you will be taking exponentially more pics, so there will be more scrapping, then more pics, then.... you get the idea... Within a few years, when home printer ink has been proved to not fade, I believe that scrapping will be mostly digital, with very little of the 'touchy texture feely' stuff left. By the time Emma is old enough to look in her time capsule, she'll see a Michael's ad and wonder why we ever did it that way! She's going to be such a lucky (blessed) baby!!! Hug Amy for me ok?

And she needs a tiny little lanyard for her Disney binkie! (I assume they have them...)

Steve

What a neat thing. My Mom and Dad saved the paper from the day both my brother and I were born and also the day they placed our birth announcements in the paper.

Mom and I think you and Amy should add something personal to Emma....How about a letter from each of you to her....

Mom and I are so excited for you guys...we can't wait to hear when Emma arrives!!!!!

Steve! What a wonderful idea!

I think the only thing I have from when I was born is my birth certificate and the little pink beaded baby bracelet they put on me when I was born. They had pink for girls + blue for boys with your last name.

From the sound of things, and all of our ideas, you may need a storage pod instead of a time capsule! :rotfl2:

How about a snip of the receiving blanket you bring her home in, or her first pair of booties? At Radio Shack they have these very small picture frames which you can record a 5-10 second message... might be nice for you + Amy to say Hi to Emma.

My sister had my 3 1/2 yr old nephew record an I love You ... see you soon message. She ran in the medical waiting room just before I was wheeled down for my breast cancer surgery, and played it for me. I have it to this day and still play it when I need a warm fuzzy memory to look back to! :lovestruc

My idea was already taken....an Olympic pin. :goodvibes Seriously, I have a framed set of the "day" pins from the 2002 Olympics, since I worked in Park City. It's amazing how quickly these 4 years have gone!!!

It's a great set, here's some examples:
Day 1:The opening ceremony
Day 2:2 of Utah's favs Ice cream and jello (Can you think of anything MORE worthy of a pin!!)
Day 5:Utah's 5 Natl Parks
Day 10:10 Competition Venues
Day 13:The average depth of the Grea Salt Lake (13 feet)
Day 16:16 Days of hockey competition

I also REALLY like Elaine and Margaret's idea of a personal letter, but I wouldn't stop there.....if you're writers, one on every Bday or something!

Oh, and see how those berets go this time!! I, personally, don't think they'll be the huge success they were in SL, though....we'll see if I'm right or not.... :confused3
