GO STEELERS!
Yes, I'm going to be a bit obsessed today!!

Happy Superbowl Sunday everyone!! :cheer2:

pirate: Go Steelers! pirate:

Okay...I love that there are other people that say "pop"! I grew up in the midwest and we always said "pop" and when I moved to NYC and said I wanted a "pop" people looked at me like I was crazy...

Now I have a question for my fellow cruisers...this has been a topic at our house since we moved to Napa. We have a creek and I call it a "crik" and Michael calls it a "creek". I get a lot of grief from Michael and our older kids for what they call my hick pronunciation...How many of you say "crik"?

Is there a football game on today????

Laurie, if you use Crik it is ok in the sentence " Lord willin and the crik don't rise".

Wasn't it Tennesse Ernie Ford that used to say that at the end of his show?

Hi Laurie!

I hope you guys recovered from your holiday flooding of your crik! We have a creek in the back of our house, and I say "Let's go down the crik." all the time! :rotfl:

It's so funny, cause Joe looks at me funny when I say it. I've said crik for as long as I can remember! ;)

CRICK PERSON HERE!! But then again I'm from Pittsburgh and we say a lot of weird things. :rotfl2: Pittsburghese is a language all it's own.
Does anyone have a gumband?
Have you red up your room?
Yinz hungry for a chipped ham samich?
Don't believe me? Check it aht at www.Pittsburghese.com :rotfl2:

Does anyone know if we can post an audio file here?? I've got the Steeler fight song.....:woohoo: That's pronounced "stillers" by the way...:rotfl:

You're just over the top, Leslie!!! I'm skeeeeeerd!!!!!

Georgie...Thanks for asking...the CRICK is flowing within its banks. I had to prove to Michael that crik is in Websters dictionary! Yesterday Quincy and I were watching "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" with Mr. Jimmy Stewart and guess how he prononced it... :thumbsup2 right answer "crick"!! Quincy will be a crick girl!

Leslie...I like the Pittburghese!! Too funny! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Laurie my Dad was a "crik" person...Mom and I are "creek" gals....my Dad used also call wrestling...wrastling. Us Hamiltonians also have some saying unique to our area....like wanna go to Timmy's...or I have a double double...does anyone know where I'm asking you to go or what I want?????

Well? anyone?...or does the cruise have to be "real" before meets are organized?

Oh, here's my audio file.... :rolleyes1 as my sig line shows, my artistic file manipulations are nowhere...like Cash's picture... :badpc:

I know this one, Timmy’s is where you go when a collie shows up at your house and starts barking.

Double Double refers a Shakespeare line, “Double, double toil and trouble; / Fire burn, and cauldron bubble” it is a witch thing from Macbeth . Bad thing to say in Salem Mass.

Actully a Doub Double is a Cheese Burger from an In and Out. Or Timmy's if north of the border, that last one is a guess.

:rotfl2: I didn't know how far spread "crik" was! Everyone here says it but we really are in the boonies. One of our towns is called Willow Creek and everyone calls it "Willa Crik". They probably think I'm some metropolitan yuppie because I pronounce it the way it is spelled.

To me, nothing is funnier than hearing someone say they are up $$$$ crik without a paddle! :lmao:

Regarding recycling, here it is by the pound. I think it varies depending on where you take it but when we take a garbage can filled with crushed cans, we only get around $4 back. The Oregon border is only 90 miles away and I think you still get 5 cents per can back when you recycle them there. I wonder how many I'd have to collect to be able to afford the $2.79 per gallon of gas it would take to get there and back. Wasn't that a Seinfeld episode?

Celeste, I ride my exercise bike at night sometimes too. It doesn't register correctly on my pedometer. The bike shows I do 9.5 - 10.5 miles but my pedometer only changes by around a mile. Hmm, I didn't know I could calculate those too. I've been keeping track of those miles separately. I may be able to get to Orlando by November after all if I do!

I am currently watching the Lord of the Ring movies, which I haven't seen before. I have to watch something while I walk or I get bored looking at the wall in my basement.

I find Aragorn to be quite ummm, inspirational...sigh... :)

I could do that...Will you be there?

Nope! Alaska is next on our list...planning for Aug '07. Looks like we'll be doing it without Disney. :confused3
