Everyone else:
Any thoughts on this, I posted this on the 11 night cruise board:
No Scott, you haven't missed the summer midwest meet- just the Christmas one.

I am still considering doing a meet in May. I had actually thought about doing one the weekend of Memorial day and thought about inviting May repo cruisers as well- kind of a one year thing- celebration and combine it with people for the upcoming cruise in September. I already have time off that weekend as I am scheduled to go to California for a nursing convention earlier that week- and have scheduled vacation time for that week. However, I don't know how many people would be interested in coming around that time frame- I know many people do family parties. I could plan some fun things in Chicago and we could have a party at the house. If I wasn't going to do it that weekend, I'm not sure when I could~ between working two jobs, school, and training for upcoming races, my time is limited

Celeste! You are one busy gal! I don't know how you do it! :thumbsup2 I admire you living life to the fullest :woohoo: and encouraging others to do the same. ;) Joe + I have never been to Chicago! How tempting to come and see everyone, both newbies and oldbies! :bounce: And a great excuse to visit somewhere we've never been. :wave2:

That weekend is Brandon's birthday weekend, but I don't know what his whereabouts will be yet. (with his Dad or with his Mom...) That 3 day weekend is usually a party get together time to celebrate his birthday, depending where he will be...

Celeste....I understand they have to be careful but that was taking it a little too far....it might have been at a time when there was an Amber Alert in the Province and they were on the lookout for a child. I know a co-worker got really ticked off that at the border they made them wake up their 6 month old daughter (who they had finally got calmed down and asleep in the car after a 4 hour drive to the Windsor border)...like what could the child do or say at that age...after the border it took another couple hours to get her calmed down again....

Mom and I would be interested in doing a Dis meet but would only be able to stay for a day...due to the lack of available vacation days!!!!!! Maybe I could get a Doctor's note that advises I am suffering from Repo Depression and the only thing that would make it better is a DisMeet in Chicago!!!!!!!!! :rotfl2:

Kelli....the border guys told me that "it was my lucky day!" and I replied "I'd rather win the lottery!"....they searched the inside of my car....the engine...the trunk....and they went through the pop (opps..I mean soda) cans I was returning to get my deposit back and a sweater I was returning....

Yeah, cop humor!! Ya gotta wonder. SHEESH!!! Wouldn't you think they'd get something more original?!?!?

You have to pay deposit on pop CANS??? Is that a Canadian thing or a NY thing?? :rotfl: I truely never heard of that!!

I think they have that in Massachusetts, California, and Maine- maybe others....

Steve- how's your mileage this week?

As of today, I just passed 100 miles. Sometime today I had enough miles to cross the county border. Woo hoo! Only 192 more miles and I reach the Golden Gate Bridge! I'll be in Orlando in no time! :rotfl:

I'm averaging 7 miles per day which is a lot better than I thought I would but at this rate, I'll be lucky to enter the Eastern time zone by our trip. I've lost six pounds since I've started though which is the most important part for me. These pregnancies are brutal on the waistlines for us dads-to-be! Three more pounds and I'll be down to my pre-cruise weight!

I had problems getting into Canada in 2002 for our Alaskan cruise. For some reason I felt like everything I said was a lie. "Is this your truck?" Do I answer yes or no, that the bank still owns it??? "Where do you work?" Well, I worked for one company but was being contracted through another. Tough questions!

Yeah, we do have to pay extra to buy soda cans here in California. Let's see...the receipt for the 12-pack of Diet A&W I bought today says 48 cents. Here it's called CRV which I think stands for California Redemption Value. I'm not sure how much they are for bottles as I rarely ever buy them.

Michigan has it, too. My aunt about had a fit when I crushed a can (that's what we do in Wyoming) !! They had a cool machine you fed the cans and bottles into and it read the bar code. I loved going to the grocery store!!

Steve, congrats on the weight loss.....and good luck getting to WDW!

Wow! I wonder if it's in NJ too and we never knew about it... better check those cans... Joe drinkd 2 - 3 per day. That may make a deposit on our cruise! :rotfl:

We're slowly creeping along with 2 miles per day. I'm tempted to get a pedometer to see how much I'm walking back and forth at work. Right now, we're still heading south on the NJ Turnpike!

Hey Steve... GREAT WORK on those miles!

Ok, that just made me :rotfl: snorting coke all the while. Just struck me so darn :rotfl2:

And yes, Leslie, they are DARLING! :dog: :dog2: pug:

You bad girl. I know what you are thinking. I would never say that about my table 12 mate. pirate:
Shame, shame shame. :sad2:

Now, if I wanted to be bad, I could question the words "snorting" and "coke" in the same sentence, but I will take the high road.

My aunt about had a fit when I crushed a can (that's what we do in Wyoming) !!

Kelli you forgot to toss the can in the back of the pickup.....

Kelli....in NY state it 5¢ a can....but I am willing to ensure the searches etc to have my Diet Wild Cherry Pepsi and my Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper (which is FINALLY available in Canada after being able to purchase it in the US for well over a year) soda (pop) in cans.

Since we don't travel to the US as often as we used to, I stock up when we're there and then just take the cans back when we go...yesterday I had 54 cans to return and yes the gtrocery store has the cool can and bottle return machine.

I think they should start charging the deposit thing here in Canada on soda (pop) cans as it might reduce the amount of garbage thrown on the sides of the road etc. I mean you have to pay deposit on your beer cans and people have no problem keeping those cans and returning them...you see very few (if any) that have been thrown away.

Steve....great job on the walking and the weight loss....I'll be back walking this week...I had to take some time off due to the small "medical" procedure I had done on January 27th :rolleyes1 .

That's a good point. If they started charging 5 cents a can here ... maybe the roads & parks wouldn't have so much litter. I'd be out there walking every day picking it up and saving it for Disney Cruises!!! There you go Elaine... you can clean up Canada... take the cans back into the US and earn money for more cruises!!

Shame, shame shame. :sad2:
Especially since THOSE old puppies are not so nice anymore....:rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Today is GAME DAY people!!
GO STEELERS!

Keith's pickup has a shell on it...and the dogs wouldn't like sitting on one....and Emmy would panic if one rolled across in front of her....:guilty:

But you're right, I guess we're not "true" Wyomingites :confused3 ....haven't noticed lately what the recycle rate is....but it's nowhere NEAR $.10 a can. But as long as there's no deposit, I'm OK with rinsing, crushing and bagging....and hauling every few months. They don't add up like they used to, since Keith doesn't drink too much pop (I don't say soda!! :goodvibes ) anymore, and the canned iced tea is only once in a while! Now, the NEWSPAPERS!!!! We take a trip to the recycle place every 6 weeks with newspapers and glass....

Oh my!!! Just one $25,000 fine would substantially cut into my cruise fund.... Guess I won't haul a truckload to MA for $.05 a can.....in Keith's truck....with gas at $2.00+ a gallon.....

Peter, your state is safe from me......(did I mention I was born in Worcester?!?!?)

Leslie...it wouldn't work...for some reason the US machines know when it's a Canadian can and it spits it back out at you!!!!!! :)

Yes it is game day....I was trying to find something black and gold to wear...but I couldn't find anything....so I'll be sitting on my sofa cheering for the Steelers wearing Disney stuff!!! I mean there is yellow and black just red and white too!!!

GO STEELERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:rotfl: See the trouble I get myself into? :confused3 Guess I'll keep my comments to myself! :lmao:

Oh Bob, thanks for making me laugh this morning! Even before Coffee or Coca Cola (notice no more abbreviation?) :teeth:

Hope you are okay!

Awesome job Steve.

Georgie- put on the pedometer at work, count your miles whatever way you want.

I am counting ones that come in the form of exercise- on the bike or my feet. I may try the elipitical trainer tomorrow and I will count those miles. My big mile jumps are from the bike.

I have a paper due on Tuesday worth 30% of my grade and I don't feel like doing it. :sad2: I didn't sleep well last night and I really didn't want to get on the treadmill this morning. I didn't have the strength to run at all, I just walked and walked and walked. I am currently watching the Lord of the Ring movies, which I haven't seen before. I have to watch something while I walk or I get bored looking at the wall in my basement.

SO glad to see that wine bottles are not included.... can you imagine if they had that here and I had to bring all those bottles back from the cruises??? :rotfl2:

Guess they must know by the bar code where the can is manufactured. Oh well.. there goes my money making scheme.....:rotfl:
