Hey Lynn, we will see about FF Miles, that might be best. Come Friday only 68 weeks of work left.

Hey Kelli, I saw Billy last week, got held over in Cheyenne last week, between your local headlines and Billy you will see why. Hope your trip is fun, it has got to be warmer than home. I think we will miss you in Feb in Jackson, or what dates will you all be there? We are gone Feb 10 – 21. Bahamas Trip.

I remember The Ramsus Exhibit many many years ago at the Field Museum in Chicago. I love the great museums in Chicago. Need to do a trip just to visit them.

Funny how the 4 day cruises seem sooo short.

Yup, sounds like you'll be where its warm while we're freezing....just hope its cold enough for no slush....makes for dangerous conditions for the horses AND us doing snowmobiles!! Have a great trip, did you get your Christmas lights down? :goodvibes

Hey Peter! WELCOME BACK! So glad you had fun. Please give us a review (in your free time! :rotfl: )

I've heard that RCCL is not DCL, but just to have a little R+R for less $ sounds good to me ;)

Georgie- what min. time are you talking about? The 16 miles minutes? If so, that is why you train! I did not train for the half the first time because I wasn't going to do it because of my knee, but I want to train for next year. I too was hobbeling around for the first few days after. I am walking 18 minute miles right now, giving my knee a break- but will have plenty of time to get to the point I need to. You will too!

Thanks for the encouragement Celeste. Don't know how you did it with a sore knee too! To do 16 min miles for 2 miles is one thing :rotfl: to do them for 13.1 miles is another :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

We'll see... I'm not giving up yet!

Leslie... thanks for the running info and the websites!!!

Okay per the request of many:

There is a training schedule and a pre-training schedule. The pre-training schedule allows you to build a firm base- upon which you will then further expand your base. If you build your base slowly, you are less likely to get injured and less likely to have burn out.

Here is what I have seen suggested for a pre-training base:

Week 1: Moderate walking pace- 17 to 20 min/miles Train 3 days a week for 30 minutes.

Week 2: Moderate walking pace- 17 to 20 min/miles. Train 4 days a week for 30 minutes

Week 3: Fast walking pace- 13 to 16 min/miles. Train 3 days a week for 30 minutes

Week 4: Fast walking pace- 13 to 16 min/miles. Train 4 days a week for 45 minutes

Week 5: Jog for 5 min and then walk at a fast pace for 5 min. Repeat times 2 (for a total of 3 reps). Train for 3 days for 30 minutes

Week 6: Jog for 10 min and then walk at a fast pace for 5 min. Repeast times 2 (for a total of 3 reps) Train for 3 days for 30 minutes.

Week 7: Jog for 15 minutes and then walk at a fast pace for 5 minutes. Repeat times one. Train 4 days for 40 minutes.

Week 8: Jog for 20 minutes and then walk at a fast pace for 5 minutes. Repeat once. Train for 4 days for 50 minutes.

Week 9: Jog for 25 minutes and walk at a fast pace for 5 minutes. Train for 4 days for 30 minutes.

Week 10: Jog for 30 minutes for 4 days for 30 minutes- REPEAT for WEEK 11.

This schedule is from "The Non-Runner's Marathon Trainer" by Whitsett, Dolgener, and Kole. From page 9. (no plagerism here- see is cite my sources grad school has taught me something  )

Some other books also recommend cross training on some of the non-running days.

I thought this was a good pre-training base, which should help advance you without injury. If people are interested, I will post other training schedules later.

Forgive me for posting it here- but this will same me a few emails.

Thanks,
Celeste

No Kelli, Billy was not involved, that is a good thing. You should be ok to leave the county next month.

AWESOME Elaine! Good Job! Every little bit counts. I am tempted to wear my pedometer to work and count those steps towards Disney. At my old job I would often walk 7-11 miles per day- but I probably won't. But i am tempted. :lmao:

ELAINE YOUR PACKAGE CAME TODAY

Thank you SO much, Noah thought it was the most awesome thing ever! You are so kind, it totally blew him away. He looked like he did on Christmas morning.

Thanks again!

Yes.... I am a DVC member now. Took that plunge that I never thought I would take :woohoo:

Could not pass up the Friends and Family promotion. So signing all of the papers  :hyper: :crazy2: and will be making reservations for OKW in May.

Debbie

Welcome back Debbie and congratulations on joining the DVC crowd! Hopefully someday Amy and I can do it too.

The Walking to Disney idea is great! Thanks Celeste for posting so much information about it. My workgroup had a 10,000 steps a day program they were promoting and gave out pedometers for us to track our daily steps. I averaged around 12,000 a day for all the walking I had to do between buildings each day and won the prize. Ironically enough it was a gift certificate to Marie Callendar's. Doesn't that send the wrong message??? I've unfortunately since slacked off a bit since and have been doing a lot more desk work and less walking.

I decided to join the Walking to Disney support group for our upcoming trip in November. Mind you I live in California (3123 miles) and it will be nearly impossible for me to do over 10 miles a day for our November trip! The important part will just be to get healthier and hopefully burn off some of this pregnancy weight! Why is it we daddys-to-be gain weight too? I know I'll get no sympathy from the mothers on this board (Amy included) but I still say it just isn't fair! :rotfl:

I'll update my signature in the next couple of days. Good luck and good job to everyone participating! :thumbsup2

Celeste,

That review of the other ships was very interesting! It was obvious that she's a fan of DCL, but so are we, so we would be looking for the same things. I wonder if there's a comparison somewhere of DCL and Norwegian and Princess or Celebrity? We're still thinking about an AK cruise this summer...

Renae

bring t-shirts and shorts for day, and long sleeves and jeans for night. The 5 day forecast said mid 70"s all week, but some nights will be down to about 39. Hope that helps! Give me a call when you get here and maybe we can set something up!!! That goes for you too, Kelli....lol

Renae

Hi Dan!

I didn't know you had a tape of the pirate night party! Could you make us one? Pleeezzzzzeeeeeeee????? I can pay whatever it costs, but it would be a blast to see it again. That was a really fun night!!!

Renae

Celeste,

Could you send me the info on the 'walk'? I can't do a lot, but I've been thinking of starting a walking program while the weather is so beautiful...

Renae

you guys talking about all this walking has me in depression :rotfl:

I'll be happy to get the cast off my leg so that I can just start to walk normally. Anticipation is killing me - I admore everyonel for doing this.

Hey Renae - hope all is good with you. we haven't been able to hook up with each other on my recent trips to Disney but soon.

OK Guys any good recomendations on pedometers, we had one we tried at WDW but Space Mt, and other coasters messed it up.

:hippie: KEWL for sure.

Steve that is funny about the Marie Clanders prize.
