Lee picked up something the second thursday. I thought it was the Cabo Wabo flu, but it seems that others had the same cold also.

I'm so sorry that some of you got sick. My girlfriend that met me at Disneyland got very sick on Sunday. (she wasn't even on the cruise) When I left her house yesterday she was still in bed quite sick. Bad cold, coughing and fever. I still am knocking on wood that neither Aimee or I got anything.

Georgie, your poor toe! I've done something like that before, but it was a broken piece of glass I walked into, and almost cut the poor thing off! (teach me to put broken glass into a trash bag and leave it on the floor) :earseek:

For anyone interested, here is the brief stop-motion video of the bridgecam view of our ship passing through the canal. Our 8+ hour day was sped up to just under a minute.

If you want to check it out, go to http://members.cox.net/airtime247/CanalQuick.wmv

If that gives you an error, try right-clicking on the link and then clicking Save Target As and saving it to your hard disk.

I was looking for some web sites for Laurie regarding tea- I thought I could help her remedy that she only had two boxes in her house. I looked at my two favorite sites for loose tea and confirmed what I had suspected....
the loose teas from Palo are from mightly leaf tea company.

Those of you missing your african nectar- you can get it there in bags or loose.

The site is
http://www.mightyleaf.com

Loose teas are at:
http://www.mightyleaf.com/loose-teas.aspx

If you are looking for a wonderful brewing device for loose teas- may I recommend the following....little or no sediment. This site also has great teas.
http://www.teavana.com/

Specific site for the brewer:
http://store.teavana.com/brewandtouch.html

I hope this helps...if I could only find the Palo scone recipe....let me see what I can do. (I may need some time for that)

Enjoy

That African Nector is fantastic..thanks Celeste.

Well, they have increased the limited edition 500 port pins to le 2600 for the August repo cruise.

Steve,

Thanks for the amazing video, almost felt like doing it all over again!

Steve thanks for the link, it is great.

Jen thanks for posting the photos, they are great.

I don’t know when we will get to our photos, Lynn is working six days straight and I won’t be home till Wednesday late.

Not surprised to hear about the editions of the pins being greatly increased.

Did anyone else get the survey postcard to contact DCL?

Great Video of the Magic going through the Panama Canal!

My DH (Steve) developed a cold as soon we were home and I had a scratchy throat but I thought it might be related to travel on the plane. We travelled on two very crowded planes and I believe that I read somewhere that the air in an airplane is not the most healthy.

Glad to hear that they increased the number of port pins. Does anyone know if these would be the same port pins that we received? We missed the first port pin (Port Canaveral) and would love an opportunity to complete our set. I know there are some on e-bay now but I might be inclined to wait if they make more of the same pin.

After the cruise we went to DCA on Saturday and took a tour of LA on Sunday. We had hoped to do DL on Saturday as well but we were just too tired. I'm glad we went to DCA because I was curious about it but its not someplace I have any disire to go back to again. My DD (Katie) would point out people in DCA and say "They were on the Disney cruise"..."They were too", etc. Obviously she has much better facial recognition skills than I do.

The one time I did not have my camera with me was when my DS (Will) was in the "Talk like a Pirate" activity. He was right between Mr. Sneed and Captain Hook for the group picture. (I think those were the characters for the group picture.) Most of the parents there did have there cameras and I bet that some of those smart parents were DIS Board members. If anyone has a picture to share, I sure would appreciate it.

I can't begin to thank people for all of the godies that we received on our fish and fish extender. It was such fun to get all those great surprises! The lanyards were phenomenal --- I was able to keep track of my KTW card the entire cruise by keeping it in my lanyard! (You have no idea what an accomplishment that this was for me). I can't begin to tell you how many people asked about them (and the "Reposition This" shirt)!

Hi Mates!
I'm getting ready to get a box of goodies together for a lady who makes baskets for a children's hospital; some of you might know her (Dotti, DSar@aol.com). During the cruise I horded those little shampoos and lotions, plus the leis and maracas and will be throwing in several of the trinkets so generously given by our great group.

If you have leftover Oriental Trading items, hats, Disney postcards, soaps, toys, or other treats (food items and balloons can't be donated) that you would like to give to a good cause, I would be glad to send you Dotti's address, or you can contact her directly.

I can't think of a better way to share the joy then to give to a hospitalized child. I think I will make a run to the Oriental Trading store and get a few bags of little goodies to pad the box.

If you're interested in sending things to Dotti or you know someone who does similar volunteer work, I encourage you to share the love.

PANAMA CANAL SOUVENIR DVD

Whew! Finally made it back from Disneyland and back to reality! We had a great time and enjoyed meeting many of you while on the cruise. We'd also like to thank everyone for the sweet little gifts that kept appearing in our fish extender. That was a brilliant idea!

I'd love to make this a free gift to everyone, but unfortunately, the cost of shipping would put it a little out of reach. So, I'll offer one free DVD per stateroom (not including shipping costs), and if you'd like more than one DVD, I'll let you know the materials costs for those. Depending on the number of discs that are used, it will probably be around $1.50 for any additional DVDs. I won't know that for sure until I've finished it.

For shipping, I plan on going with flat-rate Priority Mail envelopes to simplify things. That's $3.85 in the US, $7.00 for Canada and Mexico, and $9.00 for other locations around the world. Just to give you a heads up.

Right now, I need photos and video from you all. You can send digital photos on a CD or data DVD or still photos (which I can scan). Video can be sent on a VHS cassette (NTSC), copied onto a DVD, or on original mini DV tapes. If you have any questions, please let me know. My e-mail is nejthelion@earthlink.net. Please send me a message when you send things so that I can keep an eye out for them and let you know when they've been received. Also, feel free to pass on any music suggestions :)

Here's the address for sending materials:

Jen Stamey
407 East 90th Street, Apt. 8
New York, NY 10128

I have a music suggestion! As a nod to Kermit the Frog and his touching show, and to all crew members, how about "Rainbow Connection"? I've always loved that song, and now it will always remind me of this very special cruise.

steve a great video have saved it to my comp. and can now watch it when ever I get vacation pirate: withdrawl systems

I'm glad everyone liked the video. There is also a 41MB version which is much better quality but too large to fit in my 10MB of web space. If anyone wants to host it on their site, PM me!

Debbie, I didn't know about a postcard... What's it supposed to be? I'll have to keep a lookout at the mailbox.

The day we went through the canal you could go to guest services and purchase postcards and stamps and if you had them back by 2 pm they would be sent out that day from Panama!

It will be interesting to see how long it takes
