Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know we went to get an ultrasound today and found out we are having a baby girl!!!!! princess:

I can't tell you how excited we are right now! I guess your little craving quiz was correct Celeste! I'm surprised because everyone in our families (including us) thought we were going to have a boy except for Amy's dad.

We are naming her Emma Grace after Amy's grandmother. I can't wait for everyone to meet her on a reunion cruise!

-steve

Congrats Steve and Amy- how exciting!!!

Was this your regular ultrasound or the 4D one?

By the way- I've never been wrong with my milk vs juice quiz. ;)

Milk= boy Juice= girl

Has to be early in the pregnancy- esp. when you are feeling morning sick- aka I'm not feeling really great but if I had to pick one to drink it would be....

This was just our regular one. The technician wasn't 100% sure at first but told us she was 80-90% percent sure it was a girl. Then, near the very end, she paused it and said there was no doubt it was a girl. I didn't realize they looked for three little white lines (*****) to determine it was a girl. I always assumed it was what they "didn't" see!

We are still going to do the 4D ultrasound when we go down to the SF Bay Area in early November. That will be a good chance to confirm she will still be a she!

We might get to go back also because the technician said she had a hard time getting a good look at her spine (Emma's position) so she said our doctor might want us to come back.

We did get a cool video of the ultrasound though. Amy took her co-worker's advice and had some chocolate shortly before going in. The sugar was supposed to make her more active. Was she ever! She was practically dancing.

It was cute to see her putting her arms above her forehead. She also kept opening and closing her hands and we even saw her open and close her mouth!

Sounds really sweet- I knew I had seen many ultrasounds when I was able to look at them and could actually see what the MDs and tech had seen. I remember looking at them initially and thinking....you see what???

Another good activity producing agent, is orange juice. Lots of sugar quickly enters the blood stream...it was what we gave mothers for "kick counts." The chocolate also has a tiny bit of caffeine, so that should make her active as well. Now I'm getting nostalgic for my past nursing career....

Sounds like it was fun, I remember those times and I enjoy reliving them through your posts!

CONGRATS STEVE AND AMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eric and I send our biggest hugs to the littlest Dis'er!!! Watching those ultrasounds can be so much fun! Our son Nick stuck his thumb in his mouth and turned his back so we couldn't tell he was a he... He NEVER sucked his thumb after he was born, not once...

So have you decided to completely redecorate your place in pink to celebrate? Are you spending all your time looking at tiny little baby things and wondering how you will ever be able to hold such a small person? That's the fun of it, so enjoy every minute!!!

Yay! Another Disney princess!!! princess: I'm still wishing for a Feb 13 date so we can share a birthday! Can't wait to meet her!

CRUISE DVD UPDATE

Just so you all know, the huge conference I've been working on is finally OVER!!! It's been four years in the making, so it feels like I have a life again. Even when we were on the Panama Canal cruise, we were still checking e-mail and making web updates daily because of conference stuff.

And now that I have free time again, I'm finally going to be able to start working on the cruise DVD. I'll keep you posted once I have an idea of how long it will be and what all it will contain. If you sent me any photos or video and never heard back that I received them, please let me know. I will also be going through all of the online photos that have been posted, both to these message boards and external photo sites.

Last call for music suggestions!!!

Great news, Airtime Emma Grace, what a neat disboards name!
Watch out Amy, remember Steve loves to use his Camcorder.

I just sent out PMs to everyone I could with the DVD update message I posted yesterday. There were several names off the Master List that didn't seem to work. I spotted a typo or two on some others, but these I can't be sure of:

BobbyG2345 (Barbara in 7618)
dadaxtell (Harold in 2030)
FAST 43 (Scott Brode in 7003 - although I have his e-mail)
Kay B. Russell (Kay Russell in 6647 - although I have her e-mail, too)
kitkatmom (Leslye in 2030)
TAP (Tom Phillips in 6586 - although I have his e-mail)

The ones that I have e-mail addresses for aren't too critical because I can contact them that way, but I have no other way to contact the others if they aren't still reading this thread.

I have a funny story to tell about Steve and baby things. I vacationed with Steve and Amy in CA a month ago. We spent a day at the San Diego Zoo. While there, Steve pointed out a stroller and said it was the "cadillac" of strollers and costs a few hundred dollars (he'd been doing lots of stroller research). So for the rest of the day, I was really paying attention to strollers. That afternoon, I was sitting and resting while Steve and Amy went to the restroom. I noticed that the family next to me had a stroller made by Jeep. So when Steve returned, I said "Look, Steve, a Jeep stroller!" He just kind of nodded and didn't say anything. So I said again "Look, a Jeep stroller! It's Jeep!" Again, he just barely nodded and looked away. I thought maybe he wasn't responding because he didn't hear what I said. So I said, "How cool. They make vehicles and they make strollers." Then Steve finally looked at the stroller and said, "Oh! I thought you were saying CHEAP stroller, Not JEEP stroller!" And he was thinking to himself, "Angela, be quiet! The mother is right beside you!" He was moritified because he thought I was pointing out a cheap stroller right in front of the mother!

Needless to say, we all had a good laugh over that one . . . for the rest of our vacation! :rotfl:

How nice you got to visit!!! Thanks for sharing the JEEP story... too funny!!! What a great memory! :rotfl:

I don't think I will ever be able to look at a JEEP stroller now without giggling!!!!!!

I can just see the scrapbook page now!!!!!!!!!

I'm glad you told the story, Angela. I wouldn't have done it justice. The whole time I was thinking, "How blunt! I mean, mom and dad are sitting RIGHT there! I thought people from the south were supposed to be friendly! Just when you thought you knew someone. She never showed us this side of her on the cruise!"

We did have some good laughs about it afterward though! :rotfl:

-steve

Steve,

You and Amy just have to buy a JEEP (or was that a CHEAP!! :rotfl: ) stroller now for baby Emma!!!!!!!!!

Mom & I were both laughing reading the story and Mom said as I'm reading it to her ...maybe Steve thinks Angela said "cheap" not "Jeep"....before I got the story finished!!!!

I'm so excited!!!!!! I leave tomorrow morning and head to WDW to spend 5 glorious (but apparently will be rainy) days at WDW with Renae & Leslie!!!!!! But hey...a rainy day at WDW is better than any day at work!!!!!!!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that DCL doesn't announce any exciting cruises while I'm away...I have read that the DCL is only announcing the first 4 months of 2007 this month and the rest of 2007 will be announced in the new year...

I forgot to mention....

One of my co-workers went to Vancouver a couple of weeks ago (for work) and guess who he sat beside on the flight from Toronto to Vancouver????

Mary Jo from DCL!!!!!!!!

My co-worker said that they talked about our cruise....he told her he knew all about the first cruise through the Canal and he wasn't even on it!!!!!!!

He said she was really nice and he said she remembered our bunch...uh oh!!!!

I remember seeing her name tag said she was from Canada but that is just too cool!!!!!

Elaine, have a FANTASTIC time on your trip! Renae and Leslie, take good care of my Table 9 buddy and make sure she behaves. We don't want any more incidents like the Great Chair Stealing Escapade from the repo cruise - hee hee!

If by chance DCL does announce the exciting 2007 cruises while you're gone, we'll contact you through Leslie.

Have fun, put on your Mickey rain poncho as needed, and make some exciting new memories!

Angela

I was starting to feel bad as we have a Jeep.... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
