Hello May Repo cruisers,

I am on the August repo cruise and I have a question about the Acapulco Beach Break excursion. I currently have this booked to do but I have heard a lot of negative things about Acapulco and am wondering if I should cancel. I will be doing it with my DS and DD, but DH will not be able to attend with us. Did anyone do this excursion? Any input on whether it was good or not would be appreciated. Also I hear the water is polluted and not good for going in which sort of is the point of the excursion. I'd appreciate any advice.
Wow, I just discovered that you are all still communicating on this thread. We will be on the August Repo cruise also and have the same concerns about the Acapulco Family Beach Break. Miclen responded to one of my posts and said she had heard from one of you that it was nice and the service was great. Mentioned there was an under tow but nothing about whether anyone went in the water as far as the pollution. I know here our beaches will post if there is a problem. If anyone was on this excursion please let me know if you think the water condition would be safe for a 6 and 9 yr old. They know how to swim. Also was there any mention of water pollution when you were in Acapulco. Thanks. I'm sure we are going to have a hotter, muggier trip than in May but am excited anyway. It was so much fun reading all of your posts live from the "first" Panama canal cruise.

I believe I was the only one from this thread on the family beach break. I don't remember the water being polluted where we were. I do remember that it was really salty- as I got a mouth full. The undertoe was REALLY strong- alteast in May. It would be easy for an adult to get pulled under- if in too deep. However, it wasn't a problem most of the time- but I would not let your kids go in the water without an adult next to them.

The club was nice- but simple and clean- but it is an older section of town- but it is the "gold" district. The food was good. The open bar had a good selection- beer and mixed drinks with a large selection of sodas and bottled water. You were able to have as many drinks as you would want-we mainly stuck with water, soda, and virgin pina coladas.

The staff tried really had to take care of you-very heartfelt.
This was my opinion, I liked it better than Mazatlan (beach break).

Hey DPD, sorry to hear about the slow (healing) butt.
Thought you'd be running laps around Wal-Mart by now. :rotfl:
Keep hanging in there! Arrgggh!

Oh yeah!!! if it wasn't for Wal-Mart I'd probably still be using the walker...:rotfl: that's where I get all my self inflicted physical therapy. It's amazing what a clearance rack can do for healing....:rotfl2: Arrrgggghhh Table Matey!

No wonder!!!! Guess I need to schedule some WalMart trips!!! Thanks for the advice, Leslie!!!!

Hey you scrappers out there, did you see the news that Big Lots has picked up a huge lot of scrapping supplies and is selling it really cheap? I read it in an email from a scrapping group on yahoo.... I'm going there tomorrow.

I have good news, no surgery for me! Just 12 weeks of PT.... won't that be fun, NOT! But at least they can do something that will make it better. I'm so glad I don't need surgery, so I'm cheering!!!

Hi Renae :wave2:

Mom & I were in the US on Wednesday....tried to find the Mickey cheese...no luck. We did go to Big Lots and was excited when I saw their sign that said "Brand Name Scrapbook supplies $1....When I found the section I was very disappointed...they had some of the small Jolee's Boutique stuff for a $1 but all the other stuff was imitation "knock offs" of the brand name stuff....hopefully your Big Lots has a better selection.

I'm so glad you don't need surgery....I think that calls for a :cheer2: or maybe a  or maybe :rockband: (pretend it's B2M) or how about :thewave: but I think the best thing to offer is :jumping1: accompanied by a side of :mickeybar !!!!!!

Hey I just noticed some "new" smilies...when did :maleficen get added??? I don't think I've seen that one before

Hi Renae!
Glad to hear that you don't need surgery....but don't do  or you might! :rotfl:

Does that mean you can go back to work or are you already back?

:fish: Noah and I are going to the aquarium in Chicago today...

Celeste,

The Dr. said to take another couple of weeks to get started on PT before going back to work, so I'm going to use the time to scrap some more....

Thanks for all the good wishes everybody, you're very sweet!

BTW, the heat index yesterday was 111*!

Renae

No surgery is good surgery, when that is the best course. Make sure you follow your PT plan.

Wish I could go to the Shed Aquarium.

Hi Renae: Glad you don't have to go thru surgery. Guess our scrapbooking plan for both of us to scrapbook together after both of our surgeries will never be now. :rotfl2: I wouldn't be able to keep up with you anyways. You are an expert in it and I would just let you down.

I won't be having mine until after I return from Hawaii. Sure not looking forward to it. But if it helps me to walk, I am willing to do it.

Kay,

You're not getting off that easy, lol.... I can still scrap without having to get cut open to do it! You're so funny!

Yeah, what Scott said!!!! :cool1: Take care of yourself!!!

:maleficen :maleficen ohhhhh lookee a VILLAIN!! I am so excited!:maleficen:maleficen

Renae: So glad to hear that you do not have to have surgery! No interruptions in your scrapping!

Our Big Lots did not have much of a selection either. I went to three of them in the area... Tomorrow I am going to check out aother store a bit north of here. I also saw a Cropper Hopper paper organizer thing at BJ's. It was $14.99. I'm assuming that's a good price.. but it didn't include much. I would have bought one but the lines were sooooo long I didn't have the patience to wait. I have got to get the paper under control though so maybe I'll go back next week.
I finally found the Mickey cheese.... Joe just rolled his eyes...:rotfl2:

You must be in Chicago....or atleast have the weather we had last week. We had one day last week where the heat index was 114- I had to wonder if I was in Illinois or Nevada or Florida....

Drink lots of fluids!

It was GREAT! Noah and I had a wonderful time- I haven't been to the Shed since 1991 and it was better than I remembered. There are some new areas- it was all beautiful and plenty to see- esp. after paying 23.00 (adult) to get in.

Now I need to take him to the Field Mus.

Tomorrow we go on a canoe trip....should be fun and interesting!

Anyone know how to do multiple quotes?

I only know the "dummies" way....I have two windows open for the DisBoards and cut and past from one to the other. I'm sure there is an easier way...but this works for me.

We too had the heat wave last week...one day on the news they said it was hotter here in Ontario than it was in Cancun, Mexico!!!!!!

Last time I was at the Shed Aquarium was probably on a grade school field trip.

Filed Museum is also great, you can see Bushman and the Tzavo Lions. Science and Industry ios also great and the Chicago Historical Society has lots of Lincoln stuff.

I need to go back and see some of that Kewl stuff again.

Good to hear that there is Mouse Cheese in FL.
