I just strolled over to the Boardwalk Resort and bought a new shirt at the General Store. Let's see you do the same. Oh, that's right, you can't. You're not in Mickey land, are you?? ;) :teeth:

It isn't that one that says "I'm Surrounded by Idiots" is it?:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Linda,

30"? Are the prints that big?

No, but I had a 30" and I am putting the banner in it to take to Florida.

I think the print was either 16 x 20 or 18 x 24. I'm thinking it is was 16 x 20.

HELP!!! Anyone ever been to HIGH TEA??
This will be my first High Tea on the cruise. What is the dress code here? Do I have to get dressed up... skirt etc? I'll probably have to go straight from scrapbooking so this may be a problem. :earseek:

It's Resort Casual, same as the brunch. :flower:

Good news...I think! After I turned in my two-week notice at work, my boss was a little upset, then after lunce, he and his wife called me into thier office and said they did'nt want to lose me, and they would rather lose me for two weeks rather than forever, and I got a good bonus incentive to start working on when I get back! I feel a little relieved! I would have been nervous on the cruise knowing that I had to start a new job when I got back!
Aww man, I am driving to the port! I guess now I will have to figure out how I will get from the airport to the port! It's always something!

Kimberly

YEA KIMBERLY!!! THAT'S GREAT NEWS!!! :jumping1:

Hey guys!

Not long until you are cruising!

For the westbounders who ordered pins, payment is now due. Please PM myself or Susan for information.

Thanks
Dan

Yay Kim! Glad you stuck to your original plan and called their bluff! Now you can enjoy the cruise and not worry about your job so much. Just too bad you don't get to improve your commute a little bit... :moped:

Lynda..Congrats on your docs! .. just curious.. does Cash get docs too??

Nope, not even Honorable Mention!!!......

Yeah Kimberly, So glad that worked out for you.

For high tea don’t we need to keep out pinkies out???

I nominate Georgie to be our Poet Laureate for this epic voyage.

I also like Jeff’s theme for the banner.

Peter, my guess for the Fire Engine Co # is 28. Am I close???

I can’t wait to see Lynn, she got her hair cut and permed last night. We might see each other tonight before her shift starts. Life is nuts for me at work today, so I better get back at it. I can not wait for the weekend. Later kids....

Our thoughts and Prayers are going out to the EB cruisers who have had some tough times as of late.

Enjoy the day,

Linda have a great trip to DL.

Well, at least my TA received my cruise docs. I had intended to go pick mine up after work, but ended up having a hunch about my cat's strange behavior this morning and made a vet appointment instead. I was right. My "large" cat Dinah has developed diabetes. :( I had thought she was looking (relatively) scrawny lately -- went from 21 lbs to 15 lbs in 2 years. Fortunately my mom said it wouldn't be a problem to give her the insulin shots twice daily while I'm away. Whew!

And then after I returned home, I had a strange urge to look in my utility cabinet and saw that my hot water heater has evidence of a small leak. AGH!!!!!

Oh, and for the person who was wondering about the improv meet, it will be held during an at sea day, at a location with a bar, and probably with very little advance notice. Of course, if I end up with an "all spectator" turnout, there won't be much of meet. At any rate, it's all in fun and totally informal.

Oh Amy! Yikes. Hope your kitty does better with the insulin and you get the leak fixed on your hot water heater! Not fun when the trip is this close!

Here's some pixie dust comin' your way... :wizard:

Is that one of your garages? (at Rush) If so- I owe you 0.42 from a visit a couple of months ago! I went in and thought I made it out before the next time allotment- so I didn't run to the cash machine...and I was 42 cents short. They took all my information- including my address- to be honest I was nervous when I parked there yesterday, fearing I was on some list.
(they even asked me to pay by check- but wouldn't take my credit card?)

However, I was able to leave yesterday without incident and a fully paid bill... :goodvibes

If I had known you were familiar with that area so closely- I would have had you give me directions to the FOP of Chicago.

Buy more pins- and I'll even give you the 42 cents on the cruise!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Celeste,

Don't worry about the .42 cents, the hospital has us send out notices to anyone that owes money but there is a minimum, just can't remember what it is. If you got no notice, they are not worried about it. Keep the .42 cents and enjoy an extra ounce of your favorite beverage on the cruise.

Tom and Diana

Missed the Engine Co question and had to go back and find it!!

Is the answer the 101st Engine Company?? Something to do with the Dalmatians on the building?

Kay: You have the cutest graphics and Disney clip art... where do you find them all??

I also got a call today, (actually yesterday, but I have not been to bed yet) from as CM asking the same, (transportation to and from the ports) she did not say why, just that she needed to fill in some blanks.
Lynn

Just got a phone call too. Very weird.... while it seems like a nice gesture on the surface, I can't help but wonder if this is a roundabout way for them to try and solicit business for the transfers.

She mentioned that she just wanted to make sure nobody would be stranded at the pier. Strange comment... I'm guessing that their numbers are way off as a lot of people are doing their own things. I'm guessing that the car rental companies on both sides are going to be packed.

For those of you who are doing Budget in San Pedro. Just want to prepare you for the fact that it is not right there at the port. We've sailed in that port before. Basically you have to take the shuttle into Long Beach. Budget provides it.. but considering the potential crowds, if you have Budget... be prepared for a looonnnng wait as the Budget office is about 12 miles away. We had gotten off early from our last cruise... called over and were advised the shuttle was 30 minutes away. We were then given the option to take a cab over and they would reimburse us.... which wound up costing as much as the rental! So free car for us.

Needless to say... we're taking Execucar this time. However, for those of you with rentals... San Pedro is not very pedestrian friendly... unless something has drastically changed... expect that you will be doing some serious jockeying for a position on your rental shuttles.

Mikimous - we are also doing Execucar. The guy that took my reservation seemed to be new and didn't know how to answer most of my questions, including - where will our driver meet us? Did they tell you where your driver would meet you?

You are an evil one aren't you! I could out buy you ANYDAY! And stay within budget! My eyes are trained for "special values."

Forget the headline about Gloria, it will be about us finding the one last *something*: They've been holding onto it for days, they refuse to get off the ship, they just keep shouting "It's mine!" "No, it's MINE!" :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

SO watcha gonna wear? I have a "tea outfit" :teeth: that I've worn to tea for the past couple of years. Linen, casual, resort are the keywords! I don't have any skirts :rotfl: so it's capris for me! Actually my tea pants are cropped if you want to be picky.

OK off to complete my dining plans...Palo, brunch, tea...trying to figure out what days!

Actually... booked online and used an America West discount code and saved $5. You can get the code off their web site (or if you look on the main cruise board... I think I posted it there a while back). You pre-pay... but at least, that is one less thing to worry about and you have a confirmation code to print out! If you have the option to cancel and rebook.. I'd do it.. heck that's one more Conch Cooler!

As far as where to meet... they'll be standing outside with your name on a sign. Los Angeles is Supershuttle country... and Execucar is run by them too... if you get completely confused... just look for the blue van and ask the driver about it. However, I recall seeing all these guys with name signs last time.... which looked a lot simpler than us trying to hunt down where we were supposed to stand to catch the Budget shuttle. Here's hoping my gamble pays off.
