It took a while to read through the 40+ pages of posts since we left for the weekend but I think I'm finally caught up! We just got back from our first Jimmy Buffett concert in San Jose, CA. We had a great time but unfortunately didn't get a chance to meet anyone from Disboards. I hope Kara, Eric, and Michael (Prince Charming) had a great time as well!

After wrestling through the crowd of inebriated Parrotheads to get to the souvenir stands, I think I'm finally ready to deal with the chaos of buying pins on the Magic!

I'm jealous of everyone who got their docs. Congrats! For some reason mail seems to take longer to get to our neck of the woods than anywhere else on the planet (except for those bills, of course!)

Thanks for the link to the Google map for L.A. If you want to see something really cool, do a search for Port Canaveral, FL. It goes to the port. Zoom in all the way and check out the ship to the far left. It might look familiar!

Anyway, I found this neat timelapse video of the Panama Canal. This was taken from the bridge of the Radiance of the Seas. It is a little over 6MB so it may take a while if you have a slow connection.

Enjoy!

That is such a cool link takes you from the Atlantic to the Pacific in under 2 minutes. Amazed at how many other ships are in the canal at the same time and passing each other very closely.

No docs here yet. Did anybody who booked through Dreams get their docs yet?

Anyone still need clothes for the cruise? I'm going to NYC this weekend. I don't need anymore clothes, but I'm sure I can find some.... :cool1:

I think it's supposed to rain...I'm hoping it holds off...guess I can finally check out the NYC WOD.

No documents here (Michigan).

I'm pretty sure we have all the clothes we need.....but you never know. ;) I've been buying some things online. I just "had to" get a new rolling pullman for our boys and a rolling garment bag for us. Those arrived a couple of weeks ago. All the boys shorts and dress clothes arrived within the last week.

Now, I need to make sure we have all the accessories and get the stuff hemmed!

Yes, a practical joke of epic proportions was brewing, but unravelled very quickly once Kevin got home. Only one set of documents came today for me. There is nothing for Kevin. I will have to call DCL in the morning. Interesting foul up. But I promise, I'm not abandoning anyone at the peir or setting up an elaborate scheme to obtain insurance money. :confused3

Lynda, don't worry, Cash will not go hungry.

Steve, I've heard your singing, it's pretty bad. :scared1: No American Idol for you.

And I heard myself exclaim, as I let the dogs out for the night, "Happy Cruising to all, and to all a good night."

Randall

Did you pay with different credit cards? Maybe that is all it is??? Good luck!

Leslie, They do have shipping from the ship but it takes forever and ever. I had the Western Inaugural map shipped and it took 2 months. The packages have to go through a Customs Clearing House, is the reason for the long time frame.

Is it Lynda’s Birthday???? Well if it is Happy Birthday Lynda… enjoy.

I get to drive home today. Should be a little snow along the way. Shouldn’t be too bad.

Hi Everyone...

Well not documents here in New Hampshire, not that we would expect them up here this early.

For all our tablemates ( including Cash) mom & I have a little pirate night surprise for all of you. We actually purchased "cheapie" pirate costumes, but what the heck..

Well I feel like a " bobble" doll. I have canged my mind sooo many times about transportation to the hotel at DL and then on to LAX on Monday. I decided to cancel the car reservation, that way I have no additional stress the day we debark, and we will take super shuttle.

Is anyone else staying at the Carousel Inn across from Disneyland ???

Bye, Kim

I just have to post this for everyone.

Be careful of things you put in your luggage when flying to your destination.

My sisters were visiting me last week and as they were packing to go home, they put some jewelry and things into the side pockets of their suitcases. When they arrived home, some of the jewelry was missing and the other items that were in the side pockets were in the very bottom of the suitcase and it was obvious they were definitely removed and or MOVED. It had to be removed on the departure part of the flight, as when you get to your destination, your luggage is taken off the plan and put right onto the luggge arrival turnstile.

So, if we call the airlines (Delta) and say jewelry is missing, who is to prove it and who saw it?? I think it is awful that the TA's can get away with this. Here in Ft. Laud. some of the TA's are being set up and some have even been arrested lately. What is this world coming to.

If we lock our luggage (which we aren't allowed to do now) they cut the locks and we can't do anything about it.

I remember once when I was flying, and I returned home, there were baby clothes in my suitcase that I didn't put in there. So it happens both ways.

I don't think they should be allowed to ramble through our personal items. It is a violation of privacy - but guess they have to check somethings for security reasons - THERE HAS TO BE A LINE DRAWN SOMEWHERE

Actually, I am going to "seal" things in a clear plastic bag they can see through and that way they don't have to touch them (items other than clothes) that I don't want them to touch OR TAKE, if I have it inside my large bags that is checked.

So just be careful what you pack either going to your destination or getting back home.
:sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

Didn't proof read this so if typos, sorry

Hi Kay..we agree with you...the people going through the luggage is a nightmare.

Also, we are here in South Florida..no docs yet either..so Leslie you are not alone.

25 days and counting..I guess it is time to get serious about packing.
