I am with ya on the free upgrade theory, we will see. Chances are probably equal to winning the lottery.

Peter, We will never see a coconut in the mail, they know we are hooked, no need to waste advertising money on us.

Ain't THAT the truth!!! :rotfl2: We never get any of the promo stuff from WDW either...... why preach to the choir as they say...:rotfl: :rotfl:

Thanks to everyone for their help on the insurance question. I will be looking more into it tomorrow and let you know how I make out.

I, too, am hoping to not need it, but my fear is that with 8 of us total - 4 little ones, 2 older ones, 2 not so steady on their feet ones that for such a long time, it will bring good peace of mind....paticularly if one or more of us gets ill...

I usually dont do travel insurance, and I am sure if we do buy it, we wont need it. But then if we dont buy it, I'll be kicking myself saying we should have...

Currently I am running around getting ready to go to WDW for 10 days on Friday...I am so excited. Please let me know if any of you need anything and I will do my best to help.

Oh, and another thing,

No coconut here....put me in that preachin to the choir camp....no need to sell me on what I so freely give to the mouse. But the photos are sure darn cute!

Oh, and look!!!! I am finally a mousketeer! How exciting! I am movin' up in the DIS world...LOL

Michelle,

Try www.accessamerica.com/aaa . You do not need to be a AAA member to purchase this way. But, it will quote you with the kids free. I did this on the last trip and I'll do it for this trip, too. I normally am not interested in trip insurance, but mostly I'm inteerested in the evacuation in case of emergency. My regular medical will cover all medical stuff.

We just made final payment with the Disney Visa. I though I had mad the deposit with the Disney Visa as well, but according to the CM on the phone, we made the deposit on another card. So we got her to credit the other card and repay the deposit with Disney Visa. Now we have an extra $50 onboard credit!

Don't know a lot about the insurance options but I can tell you this...

On our last cruise (Jan 2003), I got deathly ill almost pneumonia from what the shipboard doctor said. Anyway, got to rack up a nice bill from the on board medical including: prescriptions, IV, etc. about $500 to our shipboard account. When I returned home, I checked in with my PCP as required by my HMO and submitted all my receipts to my insurance, they reimbursed me for every penny! Not even an emergency room deductible. Not sure if this was luck, everything in the nice on board medical center said to hold onto reciepts to be submitted to insurance?

Based on this experience we purchased medical only coverage from the DCL provider access America. We figured if something catastrophic happened requiring airlifting or something we'd have the coverage. It cost us about $78 for the two of us for 18 days and protected our airline travel for something. As we used DVC points for the Cruise and DLand stay it provides no coverage for that expense (we looked at the DVC point insurance company and it didn't seem worth the expense as we both agreed - we're getting on that ship on 5/14!)

My two cents.
Kevin

I thought they watched for this sort of Thing... LOL

Also Scott are you still using this method to get to your World..? Or has Lynn said enough..

Getting Around: City Bus from Airport to Walt Disney World
If you are traveling light (i.e. one carry-on) and you are on a really tight budget, it is possible to take a public bus from the airport to Walt Disney World and accomplish your trip for less than the cost of the tip you would pay a taxi or shuttle driver, or for less than the cost of tolls with a rental car!

The trip from the airport to the Ticket and Transportation Center (TTC) at Walt Disney World takes about an hour and a half, with the bus leaving the airport every hour. The best route is to take Bus 51 from the airport (an alternate is Bus 11) and then transfer to Bus 50 at the downtown bus station. (There is a web site with bus schedules.) The cost is $1.25 one way. Only $1 bills and change are accepted.

Greg C. sends this information: "The link 11 is now quicker to go from the airport to the downtown bus station. There you still transfer to bus 50. Bus 11 arrives 10 minutes before Bus 50 does. The 51 bus arrives 5 minutes after the 50 bus leaves."

You need to ask for a transfer when you board the bus at the airport or you will be charged when you get on the second bus. When you get to the TTC you can take the ferry across to the Magic Kingdom and catch the bus to any of Disney's resorts. If you are staying off-site, many local hotels have buses from the TTC parking lot -- be sure to check the hotel's schedule. Or you could take a taxi from TTC to almost any local hotel for about $10

As I Sit here im logged onto the Dcl Site and just have the Music going LOL Peter

::::::sigh:::::: we have to cancel.

Peter, I hope Lynn doesn’t read these boards, all these years I have told here that it the only way to get to WDW. LOL …. Actually last May we used happy Limo for all transportation and were upgraded every leg. Last leg from BCV to MCO we had a stretch. As it pulled up I said , here is our ride, Lynn’s response “RIGHT”. Well it was tee hee.

So far we have 60 families/178 people for the sailaways!!! Very cool :cool1:

Happy Tuesday to All! One day closer to crusing!

I just realized that not everyone will be attending the sailaway! (where has my brain been! :confused3 ) I put together a spreadsheet from Jeff + Jen's great master list, and came up with +/- 267 people cruising and 80 families!!!

Question to everyone: How are those of you bringing sailaway gifts planning on distribution? Will you label bags? Just bring things and put them out depending on the honor code for distribution? Put the room numbers on bags and deliver them to the staterooms? Are you distributing just for the sailaways, or to all families on the master list? I know there will be different ways to go about this.

I began making a gift last weekend thinking there would be around 175, now I'm seeing I am about 100 people off! :faint: I realize the only thing our list can do is grow, but right now, I'm not sure how to adjust the amount I make exponentially!!! HELP!

I also see the potential for mass confusion with so many of us at the sailaways. There is really not that much room to put out "gift" bags. Ideally, I'd like to mail everyone's gift, but, that would be a project in itself! :rotfl2:

Please help me with your thoughts and suggestions. ;)

Thanks!
Georgie

P.S. Scott, I'm working hard to make this a Tiggerrific Tuesday... Right now, at work it appears to be a Terrible one! :rotfl:

:badpc:

Called Disney Visa yesterday. There is a time limit, but not sure what it is for rewards to be used by May 14th. I will be receiving - by March 15th - a Disney Visa debit card that will have the amount of $$ on it for use. Has to be used by December 31, 2005. You will get a confirmation no. also. Had more $$ than I thought I had. :cheer2:

Hi everyone,

Has anyone going on this cruise been credited with a statroom credit for the Panama cruise for booking or moving a reservation from a prior cruise ?

We made a reservation for a spring cruise in 05 ( planning to change if they were going to do the Panama trip) while on a fall cruise in 03, that way we would get the early booking discount and the statroom credit. When Disney opened up the dates for Panama we had our TA change the reservation to the Panama trip. This was done the 1st hr reservations opened up. Now Disney says that no they are not giving any stateroom credits for the Panama trip, Anyone have anything different to say ???

I would like to push on this issue as I was upfront with reservations from the beginning on what I planned to do...

Thanks, Kim

Kim, just want to say that you dont have Very good luck When it comes to Disney.. Period... Have you ever thought of another addiction ?
Universal Maybe ? Peteeee

Kim,

We did have the same issue regarding the stateroom credits and discouts on moving an existing reservation. The first day into it, I booked directly with DCL. Dreams also booked a reservation for me. My intention was to move my old reservation to this one and use the 10% and $200 stateroom credit. Well, to make a very long story short, DCL would not honor the discount or the credit on either the direct reservation or the Dreams reservation. As it turns out, the reservation I had through Dreams was better (main seating), but a bit pricier. Well, in the end Dreams came through BIGTIME. The company decided to honor the discount AND give us the onboard credit -- even though DCL won't reimburse them. Even my confirmation from DCL shows a different amount than what I paid.

Dreams came through when DCL wouldn't budge on this issue. I think DCL was so overwhelmed that first day and then they couldn't figure out how to fix it.

I'm so sorry you have to cancel... just when the excitement of the cruise was just around the corner! :sad1: I wish there was a way to get them to change their mind!

Okay... did I miss something here regarding Disney Visa Onboard credits?? When I paid the deposit on the Disney Visa (hour one of Ressies) the TA said there were no credits available.... Just paid it off with DV the other day.. again ... no mention of credits. A few months ago when I asked about it... she told me if I used the card they automatically credited you if something was available. Do I have to call Disney Visa to get a credit or the TA... I am not one to call the TA at all... I think I've spoken to her twice since booking. I do everything online if possible. Is there a code? Was there a mailing? I'm LOST. :confused3 H E L P!

Mickbee, Kevin & Randall, If you need a third couple to help split the cost of a van etc to Port and to DL.... We'd be happy to share. We're going to Paradise Pier after the Cruise and would be happy to drag our luggage over from GC....:teeth:
