Maybe someone should contact Disney and give them the list from the tiggerfan site and say there are a 175 frustrated cruisers who would like many more details before the sailing.

Think it would have any effect on Disney????

Unfortunatly, no I dont' think it would have much effect on Disney. We had lots of people calling and asking questions about the 10 day cruise. Then when Disney did finally release some info (i.e. formal nights, etc) and people made plans based upon that info - DCL ended up changing things at the last minute.

Bottom line is that you have to take any and all information that is release about the cruise with a huge grain of salt and be prepared to adjust your schedule once you actually get to the ship and see things in black and white (and even then it will still be subject to change).

So do I. I have really been thinking about this and without knowing what the schedule will be I am having a hard time figuring out when to do what. How are all of you guys making these decisions when we really know so little about the overall plan...

I guess this is when I am envious that the August cruisers will know what is happening from us and that will be so nice...

But then I remember that we are going sooner and then I get over it....LOL!
Ha! How true. But really, having been through this same bit of frustration and guessing from the 10-day, I can tell you that I am more relaxed about not knowing what's going to happen on this cruise. Sorry, I know that probably doesn't help you much! :confused3

I cant really commit to a early meet as our girls like to be in the pool first thing - even before shrimp!!! - and we are usually dragging them out for the safety drill, but we will be around for the sailaway party - total 8 peeps...

We have our pirates names, but I have been knocked out of commission for the past few days with a nasty flu/virus....I am finally feeling a bit human today and have alot to catch up on....

I am getting too excited.....

Michelle
Michelle, the early meet will be on Deck 10 just above the Goofy pool. Maybe you could join us and just stand at the railing and watch your girls while we all meet for a few minutes? Just a thought. Or you and DH could take turns coming up to the meet....We don't want you to miss out on our first onboard meet!

Feel better! I'll send som pixie dust your way... :wizard:

Speaking of scrapbooking....I just got back from Michael's where I had to buy a craft Solar System for DD's preschool and while I was there I picked up a few scrapbooking items for the cruise exchange. FUN!!! I am a complete novice on scrapbooking and can't wait to learn from all you experts!! :cool1:

Laurie
Oh, you little devil...I just did the same thing...great minds...

Hi Kara,

Thanks for the suggestion..but no DH for me!! I am happily single. However, we will definitely see if we can trade off to come up and say hi...This will be an all chick trip for us. Me, Mom, Aunt, My sis and 4 girls...can you say estrogen???

Anyway, here is how our pirate names came up after we checked a few sites to find ones that were appropriate....

Me - Michelle - Cap'n Grace Cash
Sis - Jennifer - Skull Crusher Johnson
Bailey - 9 - First Mate Lindsey Fancypants
Ashton - 7 - Cap'n Hillary Birdbrain
Bella - 14 mos - Cap'n Xena Chumbucket

My mom and aunt are still sorting out their names...but I will update when we get them locked in....

And finally - after discussing why and what for... with Beaux, the 3 year old...she was originally given the name Pirate Frances Kookypants. In her interpretation, she has now told everyone her name is Pirate Frances Cookie Pants....LOL. And I must admit it is quite appropriate...we also have dug out one of sisters old dance costumes and....

Introducing PIRATE FRANCES COOKIE PANTS...she asked if I was going to show my friends...LOL. Now she is ready for the party. I think we will be having a early pirate night of our own fun...she is way into it....

Ops, sorry. And I knew that too! But how much fun are you going to have?!? My first trip on DCL was with a girlfriend, her daughter, and another Disney internet friend, her DD, and her female (adult) cousin. Same thing, estrogen heaven! We had a blast. It was especially fun that our assistant server was HEAVENLY! :cloud9:

My scrapbboking supplies almost equal my quilting supplies, however I can quilt,

Hi Kim,

My mom will be onboard and is a prolific and obsessive quilter...she has the crazy bernina machine, goes on quilting trips, stops at quilting stores in every city she visits, packs away tons of fabrics...LOL. I am sure she will be bringing aboard some projects to work on as she loves it...She will be glad to hear there are others that like quilting onboard as well....

Best,
Michelle

I'm so excited that your Mom is going to make quilts for everyone! ;) Tell her that I need one for a king size bed, preferably with some navy blue in it. :teeth:

So far as I know, these are the plans--
We fly into Orlando May 13 afternoon. Check in to the Embassey Suites and check out the manager's reception. :earboy2:
Next morning, take the earliest possible DCL shuttle to the port. Since we are taking the stress free shuttle, no parking or baggage worries.
Check-in and get ready for our 14 day Disney Adventure! :earsboy: :earsgirl:

Right now I believe we are signed-up for--
  • Sail Away Party
  • Wine Tasting Party
  • Pirate Night Patry
  • Twister Party
........and whatever else comes our way.

I miss one night on the boards and come back to about 10 pages.

Okay, I'm all done reading the threads and Ken/Kpros - how funny that you mentioned about someone doing the customized lifesaver wrappers. I've done that in the past for baby & wedding showers so if no one else is doing them, I'd like to make some for our sailaway party as our gifts to everyone (well every family - I think I would get some very strange stares from the Customs people with lots of lifesavers with customized wrappers).

Definitely count me in on the scrapbook supplies exchange. $20.00 - I can spend that with my eyes closed. Linda, I didn't even blink when I read how much you have in scrapbook supplies because I probably have the same amount and I'm not even a consultant or anything. All my friends that are scrapbookers call me when they need something that they can't locate in a store and usually I have what thy're looking for. I even renovated my basement this past summer and now I have all my scrapbbok supplies in baskets and containers in 2 very gorgeous oak cabinets and every thing is labelled. I love that I can find anything I need now instantly (well almost) - the getting organized part was the hardest. I never saw my family room carpet for 3 days!!!!

My Mom, Margaret, would like to attend our scrapbooking class as "a creetive consultant" as she doesn't actually scrapbook - she just "helps" me with my pages when I have a creative block (and helps me spend my money in the scrapbook store).

Hi Elaine....

I too am guilty of equally as much in supplies and not near enough time to use them all...but I had some really great ideas when I bought the stuff!!!

But maybe you guys can spur me back on the scrappin wagon....

Best,

What might be fun is to have a scrapbook grabbag swap for all those that attend a scrapbook Class. We could set a dollar limit on the value of the bag and then have a fun swap ...

Bye, Kim

Hi Kim! I'm already signed on for the scrapbook class, and I would love to be in on the scrapbook grabbag, but.........I am clueless as to what this would include? Can anyone give me some tips or pointers on what one would purchase for the grabbag? :confused3

Kim, tell your Mom that she will have a counted cross stitch buddy onboard! For the 5 years I was a stay at home Mom after I had DD, I picked this up, and have done some beautiful things. I have collected over the years several kits (to be done when I have the time LOL) and plan to bring one or two with me on the cruise.

I was asked to 'splain something just in case some of you aren't aware of it.

In other words, we may be creating our own "panic" regarding paying these off a month earlier than we're obligated to in order to get the excursions.

...and that's all she wrote!! pirate: pirate: pirate:

:rotfl2: Oh Lucy! You've got some 'splaining to do! :lovestruc I love Lucy, and just today got the new lottery scratch offs. They are adorable, wish me luck!

Back to final payment.......I paid, and knew that I really did not have to pay until March, however I would rather be safe than sorry. Your probably right, Disney excursion bookings line will be dead, but I'll hopefully get what I want.

Thanks Regina!
