My opinion is, since they have the DCL Terminal in Port Canaveral AND Castaway Cay in the Bahamas, they should still have the cruises go out of there until they build a new ship. When the new ship comes, the west coast can have the Magic.
If they do the west coast cruises (I've also heard a rumor for European cruises, with a land portion at Disneyland Paris), where would they set sail from? The Port of Los Angeles? Long Beach? And, in the summer, they wouldn't go to Mexico would they? Realisticly, they'd do Alaska in the summer. But, then they couldn't sail out of the LA area, could they? And, the ship really isn't equipped for Alaska, as it lacks inside viewing areas and an inclosed swimming area. Now, they could do this on the Magic, but without a scheduled drydock, they wouldn't have time to do it.
IF the Magic does reposition, Disney really should look at alternating 4 day Wonder & 10 day Wonder cruises.
