2005 Member Homecoing

Have they scheduled any 2005 member homecomings?

If so, where would I find out that type of info?

We're headed home May 28-June 14th and I hope I would run into a homecoming event or two while I was there (like they had in May 2004).

Can I be so lucky?

I haven't heard anything yet. We'll be there May 22-27th...it would be fun to be able to go to something special.

My guess is that the next event will be a DVC cruise.

Not very long ago a survey was sent out to everyone who attended the last member event, I would think the results of it are going to probably have a large input in what the next event will be. And about the only choice not on the survey were the non-us Disney resorts.

The last member homecoming was also the grand opening of SSR. It's hard to say when/if there will be another one. That was the first major member event held at WDW. Previously, there had been a cruise and the summer before an attempt to hold weekly member day parties that had limited success due to weather problems. It could be they'll schedule something in conjunction with the celebration of Disneyland's anniversary this year.

Yes, but the first three member events really didn't coincide with anything did they? I do agree they might be looking at doing something with Disneyland. It was on the survey as a choice of location. But, also on the survey was a question of how far out would you like to be notified and the choices were 3, 7, 11 mo or a year or more. I would bet most picked 11 or year. We're already less than 11 months out from the 50th. Ther eis definite interest from DVC in doing something, but what that something will be? No idea.

The most positive thing I can say is Jim Lewis really seems to want to get the members more involved.

For the last 2 member events, I think we were notified in late fall/ early winter. We did both the cruise( filled up in less than 1 day) and last years opening of SSR. Both were a lot of fun.

Not everyone...... ...... we never received one.

When we were at MH, we heard the next event was going to be Jan/Feb, 2005. When I called a couple weeks ago, the MS CM did say there was another event in the works, but no details yet.

We are anxiously waiting whenever, whatever it's going to be. After the positive experience we had at Member Homecoming, we know we want to do the next event as well.
