Leslie, is it really only 37 days til the repo cruise??? I'd be panicking too!
DD and I had a WONDERFUL day in NYC yesterday. We took the train up to see Wicked. It was a LONG day though. Left the house at 5:15 am, returned at 10:15 pm.
We got into NYC about 11:00, and we decided to walk so we could just stop wherever we wanted. We visited the big Toys R Us, and the NYC World of Disney (which is at 55th and 5th Ave, NOT Times' Square now!). DD is looking for a Kingdom Hearts pin, which supposedly exists, but no one in the stores have heard of it. Leslie, or any other pin nuts, do you have any suggestions? I told her she'd have to wait til we went back to WDW, and look in the pin trading shop.
Anyway, we had lunch at a deli near the theater. I had forgotten about New York dining rules. DD swore she wasn't hungry, so I told her she could just eat a hot dog. She decided on a bowl of soup instead, and I was just going to get a hot dog in case she didn't like the soup (she didn't!), but I noticed the note at the bottom of the menu. $10 minimum per person, so I made sure my meal pushed us over. I shouldn't have worried, since her glass of coke was $2.95!
Anyway, she ate the chicken out of her soup, plus half of my chicken, so bellies full, we headed to the theater. The show was absolutely wonderful! I can't believe the talent that these people have, to do something like this 8 times a week, and still make each performance special. The voices were even better than the soundtrack! I was a little bummed about our seats. When I bought them, I got orchestra section, row z. They were in the highest bracket of tickets, so I assumed we'd be 26 rows (A--z) back from the stage. Nope. There must have been some different numbering system than I've ever seen, since we were closer to 75 rows back, right at the bottom of the main floor, which meant the balcony above us blocked a little bit of our view (remember, there are flying things in the show - monkeys, witches, dragons, etc.). But once the show started, I just enjoyed. DD truly loved it. She just oohed and ahhhed and only whistled once, and that was during the curtain call. There were lots of kids in the audience, so for once she wasn't the most vocal fan. We took the subway back to the train, had a quiet ride back to DC, then drove home.
DD said it was a great birthday and I agree! Weather was absolutely perfect, probably mid 70s and sunny! We're lucky we didn't get sunburned. I'd highly recommend this show to anyone.
