Lisa, I like your picture on here...where was that?[/font]

Stace, thanks! It was in St. Lucia, where we went Horseback riding. The beach there was really nice!

Hi all. Stace, glad you survived the rain. We had a full blown thunderstorm with thunder, lightning and the works on Monday night. Very strange February weather!

The Native American museum was very nice. It's part of the Smithsonian family, and just opened this past September. They have free guided tours, which I highly encourage. We actually only saw about 1/2 of the exhibits, because the boys opted to go to the Natural History museum after lunch. There are two gift shops there, and the one on the main floor is $$$$$$$!! DS told me "Mom, not only isn't there anything here in my price range, I don't think YOU could buy anything either!" The one on the 2nd floor is more typical tourist type stuff (books, CDs, costume jewelry, tshirts, etc.)

On the tour, we found out that this museum exists because one man had collected 800,000 native American artifacts, and he donated them to the Smithsonian on the condition that they build a museum. Only 1% of the artifacts are on display at any one time. The rest of the museum is populated by temporary loans from 8 tribes per gallery, and they plan to rotate the tribes represented. They also have a rotating gallery dedicated to 2 Native American artists which will change exhibits every 6 months.

Off to finish up some work. Have a great day everyone!

Clouding up again here today. Our weather is unusual too. The Rio Grande is looking like a river instead of a muddy creek.

I'm not getting on the net much because we are currently working with dial-up. Again. Switching services again, guess it will be another week. Change is good, right?

Diana - I wondered where you were. I didn't understand the LOST last week. What was going on with the con man and the boar? Did you get it?

Thanks, Sue

I actually got to go out today...the creek wasn't too bad....in the big truck.

Got a few things done, but mostly just enjoyed being FREE!

We had the weirdest thing tonight....I took Jordan to dance at 5:15...there was a big black rain cloud, and a lot of thunder...continual thunder, it didn't end.
I went into the pizza place to get a "to go" order....and all of a sudden the sky just opened up. It was HAIL! It hailed like nothing I've seen in a long, long, time. We ended up with a good 2" or more, covering the ground, cars....the bed of Jay's pickup had a ton of it!
Four tv helicopters showed up within minutes....it was really cool. Especially since I was in the center of town, watching everyone's reaction. The teens went out and stood in it and then seemed confused that it hurt! :confused3 Mine probably would have been out there, too, but she was already in class.

At least we will remember THIS winter!!:earseek:

Any Tornadoes touch down.
Sometimes it is very scary when it hails.......thats twister weather. :scared1: :scared1:

Is that going to affect your email address?

That depends on which e-mail address you have. We've had so many lately, I can't keep track. If you have ones with @dkeddy.com on the end, you're good.

Sue, I didn't quite get that either. Sawyer and the boar. It had some deep meaning, I guess. Wasn't there some hint of reincarnation stuff? Maybe I'm imagining that part.

Is it me, or are Vet bills just nuts these days? $94 for a chest x-ray, and kitty has another one tomorrow. I love my kitty, will do anything to save him, but oh my.

I think it might be us :guilty: . My older dog has an appointment with his cardiologist for a recheck echocardiogram$$$$$$. What is the problem with your kitty? Jesse has a heart murmur, he will be 11 in August.

My dial up has been very slow the last few days. It has been very difficult posting. Hope you don't have to wait too long Diana. Are you getting dsl again?

And thank you for the LOST answer, I am still scratching my head. That was the 1st episode where I was lost.

Sue, I took Elvis to the Vet because he needs some work on his teeth. While there, he started sort of hyperventilating. The Vet took an X-ray and says he has fluid around his lungs. Gave him a diuretic and antibiotic for his teeth. Three days later, he's feeling much better, even playing this morning, but I have to take him back to the Vet today! That really freaks him out. Poor baby.

As soon as the raft caught on fire last night on Lost, I told Kevin "Walt did it". I'm good, eh?

Hi everyone! :wizard:

I know what you mean... between Vet bills and kennels it's been BIG BUCKS for us this past year. Just made the reservations for our three during the PC cruise. OUCH! Decided to send Tink and Woody to obedience boot camp as well... they include the boarding in that fee so it was almost like getting the training half price. Figured we might as well since we were paying for boarding anyway... still.. cost us almost as much as the cruise to board all three! $$$$ Sure wish I could take those vet bills off on the income tax as medical.....LOL Hey .. they are my KIDS right???

Diana - you are good! I thought Lock did it. Sun and Jin made me sad last night.
Good luck with poor Elvis.

Leslie - I have 4 kennels to interview before our next trip. The kennel I have used for 20 years is under new management and I don't care for them. I am hoping to find something I feel comfortable with that has Sunday pickup.

Good luck Sue... between here in So FL and Orlando we have visited 6-8 places, and called even more. Whew... it's tough.. we are going with a place in Orlando... the training part helped us decide as well as the people there... they were great. I'm releived to know that part is done. Now just have to figure out the best way to get to the port!!
