Just to clear the air (there are new people here you know :D )

There is no lime green thong in the box!

Our ornament is in the box (we are just doing one family one).

Slight correction on name - Gums (not Gum) yeah like my typing and spelling is always so perfect :D

Yes Mary, you are correct. The lime green thong is no longer in the box. Sharon looks pretty hot in it.

Hate to ask on the main cruise board so I will ask here first.

No guts. Come on. Post on the main board. Feel the pain of having people flame you.

And than feel the love as this board comes to your rescue and defense.

It's worth it.

We just got back from dinner with some friends at The Garlic in New Smyrna Beach.

The wine is served in a carafe which is very appropriate for this evening. The carafe was a Chicken Picher. Yes, it was a chicken.

We had a really good laugh and than had to explain the whole "Wine Post" to our friends.

What a great story, one our family will be repeating for years.

Tina,
You don't have to have a stop! There is a real grocer in Key West (our first stop the following morning) within walking distance from the port. It's right off Duvall.

However, I would say this, the water on the ship is of excellent quality all on its own, all the water onboard is produced from seawater by a process called reverse osmosis, same process most high end home filtering systems use. And if you don't find the water in the cabin up to your taste, there is even water that is extra filtered at the deck 9 drink station. My personal opinion is the water right in the cabin is of equal or better quality to a lot of the bottled ones. We're bringing refillable hiking bottles filling them inroom with ice that will be provided by the room steward and topping up right from the tap.

Hey hey, got a top, just for being helpful!

TOP!!!!!!!!!!!!

That makes Top #32!!

So after Mass tonight Mark and I went to dinner and then out to view some neighborhood lights. Well over dinner we were talking about the cruise (what else). I was warning him not to say anything about Stacey's other cruises - he asked which other cruises and when I mentioned the 2006 one that many of you were looking at going on his eyes lit up.

So I thought 2006 was out, but the prospect of sailing with friends is pulling us in. Details please on date and ports. We may just be joining you!

Thanks all for the kind welcome...

Sounds like alot of you are already packing for the trip. We are just in the planning phase (actually went out today and bought a new, larger garment bag - $300 !!! - the bag maybe worth more than its contents  ).

We have to pack for two trips since we will be flying directly into Las Vegas from Orlando to spend NYE in LV. May need to get a separate rental car in Orlando just to fit our luggage.

Question to those checking in garment bags: I always carry it on for fear it will be treated as luggage if I check it in. Is it treated like a garment bag if you check it in? How can you be sure it won't be crushed and tossed like everything else??

Sorry if it sounds stupid...I just never even looked into checking it in...

Dee

Make room for another newbie - well not quite - 3timecruiser who last posted on the thread back in July of '03 responed on the thread OM posted on over on the main board. Gave them the link over here.

Dee - well I guess the simple answer is that yes they treat it like the rest of the luggage. We have two garment bags. One that folds over and zips all around and acts like a regular bag. The other is lighter and flimsier and just folds over. We've checked both before with no problem. I do think they put the garment bags on top of the regular luggage because they are lighter.

Hope that helps.

Good grief..........please remind me how much fun we're going to have and how all this packing is soooooo worth it.
My back is killing me. Jay's all packed. Almost. As I took his tux pants off the hanger (I bought them a year ago) I noticed for the first time that they aren't hemmed! Crud. I'm hoping if I ask real nice, my seamstress will do them for me in a hurry. :sad2:
Oh well, what fun is a trip if there aren't a few little problems. Could be worse....I could be getting a crown on Thursday!
I will pack Jared tomorrow.
Confirmed all reservations, double checked all paperwork, Carry-ons are ready.
I think Jay was kidding when he said he'd have the invoices ready for me to do before we leave.:headache:
He must be getting excited, he was teasing Jordan about how he's going to embarrass her on the ship.

Mary.....I have no idea what the 2006 cruise is ...I think it's Western...???? Doesn't matter, I'll go wherever everyone else is going!!!

Tell Mark thanks for the info about the grocery store in Key West. Maybe I'll just send the boys over there to keep them busy.

I'm carrying on my garment bag. I watched a bad episode of "Airline" or Airport, or whatever that show about Southwest is. Ladie's dress was totally destroyed.

Brain Malfunction!!

What is the weight limit of checked bags? At the airport. I almost broke my bathroom scale. It wouldn't register with just the suitcase on it, so I held the suitcase, and weighed. :earseek:

Depends on the airline. American is 50 and I think we are just there with our one bag (bathroom scale actually says 51 but I'm hoping the lightness of the other bags will compensate).

I saw that - but that wasn't a garment bag - it was the bag the wedding dress came in. Long light vinyl one. Now way would I check that.
