A few more neat tricks with this new forum software,

This one was actually in the last version. When coming to this thread, just click the the little blue arrow in front of the thread name and you'll go to the first unread message.

I think this one is new, I think. When reading thru messages, the space bar will scroll to the next message.

Good morning All,

Thinking of you today Vicki.

Our gamble didn't pay off! We booked last minute and the best we could do was cat 10 gty, we just got assigned 2545(right under the night clubs). Tracey decided she would cancel the trip(losing all the money) :guilty: since she is the worst sleeper in the universe but gave me today to work on it. I was able to change to 1071 for now with the hope of coming closer to our usual cat 5. Lets hope there is nothing out there negative about this new cabin, if there is Tracey will find it.

No docs for us until we get to the port at 10 am on THE day.

Take care all and now I have to start packing for the kids again now that the trip is back on.

Phil

Phil...I think you are OK with 1071.
Read this link.

By the way we are Cat 10 as well on deck # 1.

Are there rooms on Deck 2 that are noisy?

I had more than one question about the noise on Deck 2 while I maintained a "Let me answer your questions, 'live' from the Magic" thread on the DIS Boards during our 2001 Magic cruise, so I went down to Deck 2 and did my own evaluation.

First of all, let me state that, for the majority of the rooms, Deck 2 is very quiet and you should have no problem staying there. But there are some zones where staterooms are near loud mechanical equipment (electrical lockers, transformer rooms, a/c equipment rooms, ship's propellers, cargo hatches, etc.).

So with the disclaimer that "your mileage may vary" and that you may be willing to put up with the "dull roar" in exchange for a good fare, these are the rooms that are in noisy zones:

Port Starboard
2000 - 2004

2032

2036 - 2047

2078 - 2085

2094 - 2096

2114 - 2129

2139 - 2153
2500 - 2520

2534 - 2547

2586 - 2600

2626

2630 - 2653

Also, on Deck 1, you might want to avoid...

Port
1030 - 1037

1062 - 1064

The noise in these zones is not so loud that it would ruin your vacation, but if you are sensitive to noise, you would probably want to consider another room or be sure to bring earplugs to wear when you go to bed.

I called DCL group seating and followed it up with an email. I hope everyone will be satisfied with the early seating arrangements.

Then found out my docs were sent UPS 3 day delivery on the 23rd. Checked the tracking number and they should be delivered today.

Waiting on a call back from Shirley, the perfect gift, for $$$ on greens.

That is awesome info thanks. Since it is from another source I think that should relieve some of Traceys fears, thanks so much for posting it.

When and with who are you flying out of Pearson?

We are going on the 9:45am flight out on the 17th with AC.

Phil

MY FIRST T.O.P and totally by accident because I type so slow. :cool1:

Phil - Glad you could make the switch. One time I was on deck 8 and directly below the ping pong table. That was all I heard for a week, that little tiny white ball, ping..... pong..... thwack......ping..... pong..... thwack......

You do not have to buy the dock. The mini comes with a cable for both firewire and USB2. You shouldn't have any problems. If something comes up - just PM me.

We are flying out on the 16th with Tango and Zip. It is the same aircraft just a different rate. We are a family of 4.
DS and I got the last two Tango seats.
DW and DD had buy 2 seats with Zip.
By the way we are going to try to upgrade when checking in on the 18th if there is something available, I heard it is fairly reasonable then.
It is too bad I did not book a verandah suite a year ago.
Several months ago I enquired about upgrading..............it would have been much less expensive, if I had just booked the verandah right from the start.
If we are unable to upgrade, I'm am certain we will have a blast and a half.

Stacey, I have no idea what "casual, holiday" should be. I hate those kind of invites. How about some slacks or skirt and a semi-sparkly top so you look festive? Pull out some of your cruise wear!

Go ahead Stacey-unpack and then you will have something to wear, but be careful, that evil twin Lisa, will purposely spill on the outfit just to make you go to the dry cleaners (again)!!!!

They used to be separate airlines just like Delta has song and United has Ted but now that Air Canada is out of bankruptcy they did away with those airlines and just made them a part of the fare structure. They are cheaper tickets but have some restrictions that other fares don't, ie. no cancelation and a fee if you want to change date or time

Phil

ps I know this because I work for Air Canada

Tech question..............

So, when I am trying to catch up on all the posts everyday, if I reply to a message it always takes me to the last message posted..............

Is there a way to go back to where I was reading without going to the last message posted and then hitting the page number I was on (since I don't always remember what page I was reading?) I think that has something to do with old age.........

We have been working on our packing and I think we are down to 3 duffles on wheels and a garment bag. DM will have her carryon with meds and her book on tape w/ player. My carryon will be heavy cause I will have the wine. Do you think I can put it in my checked luggage?

How is everyone else transporting their wine?

HIPPA RULES NOT
