I have a question for anyone who knows fashion.

Jay and I are going to the party that his friends on the Grand Jury are having. It's Saturday, at 2 p.m., in the clubhouse of one of the resort neighborhoods in Scottsdale. The dress info says "Casual, Holiday, etc"....any ideas for me????

Phil,

Go ahead and get it now, but don't plan on any fish till you get back. Set it up now, fill it with water and let it run empty of fish till you get back. There are things in tap water that are harmful to fish and by letting it run they will be removed. Put it to the kids this way, they can get some ideas from the trip. But note- what we see will be saltwater- not the easiest to setup and maintain, more exciting types of sea life to be sure, such as in Nemo, but you need to setup this external filter and other considerations, you have to be a serious aquarium person for that. Look for these new 'seamless' acrylic tanks, they are literally one piece molded acrylic, not much risk of breakage/leakage.

I would think you're thinking freshwater, right? I'm going to do something when I get back. I recommend the same for a new tank. Setup for undergravel filtration, but connect the tube coming up from under the gravel to a power filter. Undergravel filtration good, but I do think combining it with a power filter would be a lot better and easier to maintain. by combining the two methods you should get long filter life from the power filter too.

Stacey,

The fish's common name is algae eater, but it's 'fish' name is (I'm going to spell phonetically, maybe wrong) Plecostamus. He was HUGE too, was in a 45 gallon tank and took up a good deal of space there when he was full grown. He was about 12 inches or so long.

Time to hit the shower and head out.

Will probably pop in just before I leave.

Have a really great day!!

Do you have the CD? Probably a really stupid thing to ask a Parrothead!
Better yet, is there a CD player in Sessions???

Yes - I have the CD - but will have it on the iPod and we have a little set of speakers for the iPod and will be bringing that....

I could tell by the picture he was a big fella....sorry about the loss.
Our vet's office has one of them in their tank, too.
I know what the fish was that our friends had...not as big as yours, but served the same purpose. It was called a "DoJo"....or something like that.

Stacey, I have no idea what "casual, holiday" should be. I hate those kind of invites. How about some slacks or skirt and a semi-sparkly top so you look festive? Pull out some of your cruise wear!

I got Megan and Pete an iPod and a docking station with speakers at the Holiday Gift Shoppe in Vegas. Think they'll like it??

Exactly what I was trying to avoid having to do!! I'm clumsy....if I spill, it's back to the dry cleaners for me!

Hope everything goes well with you Vicki.

Good Morning Cruisers!

Well, I think what I thought was a bad meal is more the flu. Have been up most of the night, and am quite punchy about now and still not feeling well. As Angela said back there, better now and get it out of the way. And to compound that sleepless night, discover when going downstairs to the rec room that the 10+ year old fish we've had has passed. He was an algae eater we bought not long after setting up the tank and he was the last fish in there as I want to move the tank to someplace else in the house but knew the stress would have killed him. In a way the timing is good, one less thing for my parents to do while we're gone. Here's a pic of him in better days.

A PLECO!!! Sorry, I used to work in the pet department at Woolworths. We had one that was almost a foot long that I had to fish out with one of those plastic nets. That was fun.

Stacey,

I'd probably wear nicer pants and a "holiday" top, but I'm no fashion expert. I wear my "stretch" jeans and a sweater everywhere.

That's my problem....I wear jeans all the time, even (especially) to work. If I have to get dressed up, I get all in a tizzy.
Doesn't have to be fancy slacks, though, right? Could be like Dockers and a Christmas sweater? And a pair of brand-shiny-new sneakers?

Pirates SOLD OUT

Just hung up with Disney - Thank you for the heads up though.........

Hi everyone,

made it back from the gym. I feel motivated to get a lot done today.

Okay Ipod users- I ordered Kristen an ipod mini for Christmas. We plan on having a small Christmas at home the weekend before we cruise because they will want to bring their gifts with them. Do I need to buy the dock in order for her to download music? I have a Rio MP3 and just plug it in with a usb, does ipod work the same? Hopefully she has more tech skill than me and won't have any trouble. She will have about 5 days to figure it out!

I tried to order Jason's tux today and the guy said the measurements didn't sound right. Now I have to wait until he comes home to re-measure him. I took him to a tux rental shop, you would think they would measure right??

No snow in the forecast here, but no sun either.

Stacey- do you have a Christmas sweater? I have one that I am not bringing because its way too heavy for the sunny tropics, lol.

Sounds good to me. I'm just not sure about the sneakers.

Judy

I was only sort of half joking about the sneakers......I have a closet full of shoes, but I never wear any of them. Guess I'll have to.

I do have one Christmas sweater that I, too, am not bringing....that will work. I'm betting that my Dockers are a little snug. (major understatement there) I think I see another trip to the Outlet Mall in the near future! Thanks, gals.

Tina...I don't know the first thing about MP3's, iPods....any of that. I also got the younger kids MP3 players at the gift shoppe. Hope they know how to work all that. I guess they can use their Christmas money to buy MP3's..............

You do not have to buy the dock. The mini comes with a cable for both firewire and USB2. You shouldn't have any problems. If something comes up - just PM me.

Update on the teen Secret Santa exchange. Any teen that wants to participate should bring a gift with a limit of $15. Guys will bring guy gifts, girls will bring for girls. Names will be drawn on the ship. If you could, let us know if your teen will be participating.

Should we organize our 10 - 12's in an exchange too --- could do it the same? I hate for Jordan to be left out.
