Okay, who's going to make the last post from home? Posts on the ship shouldn't count.

Let's see, we know the scuba family won't be posting from home after 0600 if they want to be first in line, right? So that might leave us with Cindy (stingfan)? Any other Floridians?????
Won't be us, we'll be stopping the day before the cruise as I'm not bringing any type of pc.

forgot to ask somthing. Has everyone booked there exursions. We have not booked any. We planned on doing most on our own. Since this is our 3rd cruise we became pretty good at doing stuff on our own. My family found some interesting excurions though. I was told by BoaGuy, every excursion is sold out. Is that true? I find it hard to belive. We never booked excursions with DCL in advance anyways. Can we book them over the phone? What if we booked through a TA. What has eveyone else booked?
Matt
Matt, don't know about sold out yet, but here's the answers to the rest.

1. Yes you can book in advance (answer is between 90 and 60 days out, they'll take reservations, sometimes depends on whether you're paid in full, etc.)
2. Even with a travel agent booking, you call DCL directly to book shore excursions. I did this when booking with AAA and with DU. You can also fax it in or email it. The DCL page under ashore stuff tells you how.
3. What we've booked:
a. Key West - nothing, we're just going to wander a bit
b. St. Martin - Shipwreck Cove snorkle and sail through DCL. It was pretty cheap, so I just went with DCL
c. St. Lucia - Horseback riding on the beach, 2 hours, on our own through International Riding Stables. Looked them up on line. Whole family (4) costs $170 (they give a family discount), and they'll pick you up and drop you off at the dock.
d. Antigua - DD/DH are snorkling with the stingrays through DCL, DS and I are taking the eco tour.
e. St. Thomas - nothing planned. We'll probably take a cab to Coral World on our own.
f. Castaway Cay - DS and DH are on the 9 am Deep Sea fishing charter.

Avery has templates on their site: http://www.avery.com You'll have to hand copy it all from the one I've provided to that one.

Thanks Mark, doesn't sound too hard. Except I can't find the files. I downloaded and unzipped, but they are not on my desktop?

If we really want to hit 20,000 in record time (under the 4 days it took to get to 19,000) we could always "chat" in the thread tonight. Instead of going into chat come on the thread and do our talking. That should be good for a couple of hundred posts and those who can't normally get into chat could join in.

As a newbie it's hard to comprehend the vast amount of info you are all providing!!! Seems so overwhelming@!!!! Just sitting here in my cube daydreaming about the Cruise and not focusing on my work...I fear as the sail date approaches I will become less and less productive in the office..we did the Christmas Cruise in 2002...doing it in 2004...we'll see about 2006???

I used the exe file as well. THANKS Mark!!

The files are actually copied to the C:\windows\desktop. Look for the files there.

Ok, which OS are you on?

I just set it to desktop on my machine when I created the file, but I'm running 98se.

I'm just going to upload the raw files, no zipping it, you're the second person to tell me that.

Okay, here are the two individual files instead.

and

Just rt click and do save as.
Thanks Mark, that worked perfectly for me. Still working on door signs (my DH is the creative one but he did the morning school run). Then off to HD to look for the lime green mickey heads.

Windows 2000

That's an interesting thought, must be the way you configured the exe file.

They must have moved where desktop is stored on 2k/xp. When I made the exe it asked for a default path to unzip to so I just browsed to Desktop and set it that way.

I'm going to be upgrading to 2K when we get back, should be interesting.

Oh, no....

Don't look now............

but,

TOP!!!!!!!!!!!!

That makes Top #26!!

The question for this morning is about having back up plans for the shore excursions just in case the weather is bad.

Anyone have any thoughts about what to do in the ports in case the wind is blowing and the seas are rough enough that they cancel some of the shore excursions? What to do or is it just spend more time in the RainForest?

This happened to us on our Jan 04 cruise in St. Maartin. We grabbed a table on the beach under an umbrella and had a blast with the locals. They were standing under "our" umbrella to avoid the rain and gossiping about the town folk. So I just joined in, making stuff up that I remembered from old soap opera shows. We were all howling it was so funny. Ya gotta take it ez mon. :jumping4:

Without looking at the calender.....was the Christmas cruise 2002 an extended trip ( more than 7 days )?

Gus

No they only did the extended cruise for this one, we were on the NY's cruise when the rumors were Flying about a 10 d Christmas cruise - and the reason being is that Christmas is on a Saturday and who wants to end or start a cruise on that day.....................

Virgil.....I was just sent an email on how to perform self CPR.
( slide show-power point )
It involves heavy coughing and heavy breathing.

I presume its bogus: if you are performing self CPR you should be unconscious without a pulse.

If your interested in seeing I'll send it to.
