Hmmm, look who was out there lurking but just not quite quick enough this time to pirate: it away. Should have known you were lurking.....

:)

Minnie would be proud! :)

Congratulations Karen!! I think you are in cahoots with the Administrator!!! :teeth: LOL!! Well, I guess I can help DD with her homework now...

Hard to believe that we've gotten to 17,000....... and we still have a few weeks to go.... I think we should petition to stop the board upgrade until after we cruise...:teeth: :earseek:

I admit it - I was trying to pirate: but Karen was too quick for me.

Now that that excitement is over, I'll ask my boring "Disney Cruise" question...

Is there wireless internet onboard?

Thanks!

I'm taking my time so I don't steal a TOP from anyone...

Annie, I got down your books. Anyone else who posts the books they want to bring, I'll try to keep a list. Even if you just bring something for the plane, let me know incase someone else wants to read it in the Rainforest (unless y ou don't want to share...)

-Sarah

Sarah - will the ship is "wired" for wireless internet, it isn't available to the passengers.

You need to sign up and use the computers in either the internet lounge or the cove cafe.

Congrats on the Top!

Thanks Mary. So, you have to use their computers....? What do you mean it is wired but you can't use it?

What I mean is that they have everything in place that if they wanted to offer wiresless internet they could. They just don't. There had been rumors they would after it came out of drydock last year but it never happened.

THE CHRISTMAS GIFT 2004....PART III

So, then each kid gets their envelope and opens it up and figures out they have to unscramble the letters and make a word. Slowly, it all comes together, but you can feel the anticipation growing with every moment.

Luckily, the last envelope to be opened was Christmas Day, which had the Christmas Tree in it with our port.

But, the kids were thinking, what does this have to do with the cruise we took (Nov. 2002) on the Disney Wonder?

Well, I then had double sided tape and they figured out who had the earliest date (17) and started putting them up one by one on the wall.

When they finished, I told them here was their gift and handed them the envelopes with Mary's wonderful itinerary off her website and I had inserted their names into each and their staterooms.

When they figured it all out, it only took them two seconds to realize that 2004 was their "mother's" Christmas. Well, then it only took another mere 2 seconds for them to talk about it and come to the conclusion that their father had never had Christmas with them since the divorce and "who made that rule anyway".

I told them that we (DH, me and DD) were going on the cruise and they could join us (their 2003 and 2004 Christmas present), or if they felt they needed to stay home and go to Christmas at their mother's we would understand. Well, they knew immediately what they were doing and..................

Well......................IT DOESN'T TAKE A ROCKET SCIENTIST TO FIGURE OUT THEIR DECISION!!!!!!!!!

Of course, 11 1/2 months later, and tens of thousands of dollars out of my pocket (I guess the DH too)---Robert (DH) finally gets to spend Christmas with his kids!!!

Okay, that's the story. I even get all choked up now writing about it.

Linda

What an excellent surprise Linda.....a lot of thought went behind that one.
The children are very lucky to have someone as thoughtful and caring as you.

Gus

How can they have wireless internet but you can't use it??

I'm not computer saavy.....but isn't that Wi-Fi? And if you have a wireless something or other in your 'puter you automatically can pick it up.

Good thing Mike doesn't read these boards, he'd probably  and tell me he's explained this to me before.....several other times!

Congrats on 17,000, OM. That's what I get for taking Alicia to dance and back.

Don't know if we can hit that 20,000 mark. Has anyone ever found out what the record is for a Cruise Meets thread? I'll bet we've got it!
