No problem Sue :D

Look - a top without really trying. It's going to be a good day!

Good morning everyone!!!:sunny:

The backyard is coming along nicely. So much easier when someone else does the work.

The next few weeks are a blur. Thanksgiving(haven't cleaned house yet:eek: ), DD2 2nd birthday, DD2 trip to the hospital for her annual heart ultrasound, my birthday, trip to San Francisco for the weekend, parents 60th wedding anniversary and then the trip. All while keeping up with work. MAN I'm ready for some cruise time.

Oh yeah...still have to pack, finish Christmas shopping, decorate a bit, and the Christmas cards.

And I've been wondering why I'm waking up at 4am. HUH

Have a great day all. Cheers- D

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

Wow a lot to catch up on this morning. I am so glad I didn't get a call to work. I am working tomorrow though, at least its a 2 hr early release.

Leilani- Have a great trip to Vegas!

Jim-I am sure you and Matt will have a wonderful time in Costa Rica. Look forward to hearing all about it.

Karen- you are welcome to come clean my house anytime. Ohio isn' t too far from VA.

Went to the bank yesterday and bought travelers checks. Elli in Antigua only takes them or cash. Thought they might be a little safer to bring. Does anyone know if guest services will cash them if needed? At least one thing is off my to do list now.

I also spoke to someone at DCL , not sure if it was Debbie or not didn't catch the name. Anyway, she seemed to have a really hard time reading everything that is scheduled for this trip, but to her it seemed like our Formal night was MOnday, first sea night. Wed St. Marten looked like Pirate night and Semi formal on THurs.
If this is true, then we would be in Lumires for formal night and Parrot Cay for Pirate ngiht if we get the APL roatation.
She said things had been revised several times and had no idea if this was the final schedule or not. I did ask if there was going to be another formal night added and she said no, that has never been considered. After all this I ended up making Palo dinner ressies for Tues night. We can always change them if needed.
Sorry it this info turns out incorrect, but I tried.

Plan for today is gym, shopping , cleaning!

Have a great day!

I have made Palo ressies for Xmas eve - thought it would be a nice treat. I have not told DH about the REAS so it will be a nice surprise for him. He has not had a massage before so I hope he likes it.

Still no docs for me.

I am starting packing - well piling things up in my bedroom ready to go in the cases. This is always the time I find all the boys clothes are too small and I have to rush out and buy more.

I need to go out and buy a nice towelling robe so I can sit out on the verandah to have coffee in the morning.

Angela

I was going to take travellers checks too - I just kind of assumed guest services would cash them.
If they don't cash travellers checks does anyone know if they will cash a personal check. How else can you get money other than carrying cash?
I need cash as we are sorting our own excursions.

Angela

My past understanding is they don't have any problem cashing a traveler's check at guest services.

But the debit cards that supported by a charge card company are ok too.

Personal checks are the no-no.

Thanks for the invite Virgil. What a great thread. Every once in a while I pop in and see whats going on. This time, I thought I would say hi. Here's what we've got going.

Grand Floridian 16,17th

MVMCP Friday night Dec. 17th

Dinning rotation: apl (early) Might change due to pirate night

Shore excursions:

Castaway Cay - Bottom Fishing
Key West - Cat. sail and snorkel
St Maartin - Golden Eagle
St Lucia - Horeback riding (9:30)
Antigua - Stingray swim

Welcome Land and Sea Guy! My family may be on two of your excursions. DH and DS have the morning fishing charter on CC, and DH and DD have the afternoon stingray swim on Antigua.

We're all horseback riding in St. Lucia, but i booked directly with International Riding Stables.

Thanks for coming out of 'lurkerdom'!

Tina - those are the nights I expected and why i suggested the APL rotation. It worked great for us on our May 2003 cruise.

Yes it means we'll be in Parrot Cay on Christmas Day but I plan on wearing a very colorful top so I should fit right in. :D

We booked our Palo dinner for the 20th thinking it would be formal night. A romantic night with my DH :love2:

Has anyone actually started putting their clothes into their suitcases yet? I've already packed quite a bit. You"ll be able to pick us out on the cruise--the family with the wrinkled clothes.

Judy

Yep. All our casual clothes are packed. About half the dressy stuff is packed. I haven't put in the unmentionables or the toiletries. And I know that I'm probably going to end up pulling it all back out the weekend before we go to be sure I have everything, but at least it's all in one place!

It backfired on me this morning. DD wanted a black top to match her black hat she was wearing for hat day. I tried to match up a sweater that had black in it, but nothing doing. She said "I know I have a black top. I wore it on Halloween." Of course, it was PACKED! So being the good mom that I am, I pulled it out of the bag for her to wear.

Good Morning everyone!

My concern on packing to early is that you tend to forget what you packed. Even if you have a list, there might be a "brain freeze" moment and then you start to second guess yourself.

I'll think about setting things out the next couple of weekends, checking the list (at least once, if not twice).

Do you mean you can get cash on your debit card? Mine is from a UK bank but I use it at the cash machines in Florida with no problem.

Are you kidding? They've probably made wild, free range turkey basted with a thyme-chardonnay marinade and injected with 16 seasonings.....or some such exotic thing. I'm glad I don't live with them or I'd be 400 pounds!!!

But I wish I had their kids...so I could stop hearing "I don't waaaannnntttt that for dinner"

Two choices for dinner....take it or leave it! HA!

I definitely have scuba family envy! Cause whenever I decide to cook (not very often) I hear what Karen's kids say "I don't want that". I point to the panty and tell them to make a PBJ if they don't want it.

We eat out way too much, but that's the price we pay for doing so many things!

Actually, that list thing is probably why I'm going to end up unpacking everything. I knew I should have written down what I put in there!! I only figured out the black top was there because it WASN'T anywhere else!

Yes, dear, and I think being a Grandpa would be it.

DH informs me that we DO have a turkey coming. His company provides. I'm wondering now if they also provide the stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, pumpkin pie, and oh, someone to cook it all.

I'm into quick gratification cooking myself.

A few years ago, we went to a friends for thanksgiving. The turkey looked like it belonged in a magazine, as did the rest of the meal. I was quite impressed, because she wasn't much of a cook... And her kitchen was spotless - usually when we have a turkey dinner, there are pots and pans everywhere since there's so much last minute stuff to do - Turns out, that you could order your turkey dinner from a hotel restaurant and just pick it up - put it in your own dishes, and voila - no mess, no fuss, great meal!

We had a really icky night here weather wise. Really dark and rainy! We picked up the scout wreaths for delivery, but put off actually delivering them yet. It gets pitch black here just after 5 pm, so I'm not having my kids out in the dark delivering scout stuff!

DH and I sat down and wrote up everything we've decided for the new house. I think (knock on wood), that everything except the cabinets/counters is done! I just sent the list over to the builders, and we'll see what they say. Counters and cabinets are tomorrow.

I held off on the washer/dryer decision based on yesterday's discussion. I think we'll hit Sear's over the weekend, and see if we can pick up some kind of a good deal on those front loaders!

Oh, and on the traveller's checks, I'm sure that Guest Services will cash them. We did that for our fishing charter in Cozumel. Same deal, cash only, so I just walked back on board to GS, and cashed the traveller's checks. The guy said that the credit card company charges them quite a bit to convert the $, so that's why they don't take it.

I'm doing a quick check-in before heading to work and the airport. Glad I did.

I think Mary is absolutely correct on thawing the turkey. Put it in the refrig and than water bath it. Don't give it a bubble bath, the bubbles are really hard to get out.

:rotfl: :rotfl:

today is my day with my niece and nephew so I will miss the BIG number.
1. I have done several searches and can't find any more info on the Wonder in those rough seas.

2. So formal nite is early rather than later in the cruise? (maybe)

Stacey - if the turkey thing doesn't work out, you can always fly up to Vegas. I am making dinner at Mom's house.

Don't tempt me like that!!

Couldn't you just see all my guests.....
Where's Stacey? Where's our food???
