Good evening everyone :wizard:
Sorry I've been away for so long. Way too much drama going on in my life right now. I know I've missed a lot and will never be able to catch up... but if someone could give me the cliff notes version of an update I would appreciate it.
Mary has brought me up to date on mini navs, room tag and the buttons... but is there some reason I need pirate clothing?
How do you already know your dining rotation?
We have no excursions booked except for a surprise parasailing for my DH on his birthday on Castaway Cay. Just haven't had time to think lately, let alone study excursions.
I plan on buying the unlimited Rainforest room package and just vegging out there the entire cruise!!:teeth:
Does anyone know if shutters makes cards out of a photo? We were thinking about making a Xmas card out of our embarkation photo and mailing it in Key West.
I need to start trying on clothes that I thought I was going to take... with all the drama with Jessie I've been stress eating big time and probably gained enough to put me right out of the old dressy wardrobe.
Okay enough rambling. I hope to be able to keep up the next few weeks.

Turkey-sicle.

Who knows. I have yet to make a turkey in my life! Thanksgiving at my parents was cancelled, and thank goodness b/c it'd be no fun to take a sedated, surgery collared dog on a 3 hour trip!!

So it'll be the third year in a row that we go to Cracker Barrell!! (the last two years we were driving to Disney on Thanksgiving and nearly everything else is closed)

Although we did find an open grocery store last Thanksgiving and (with my parents) we ate fried chicken, rolls, and jello while we stood around the back of our SUV! Ah, the comments ppl made to us as they rushed in to get their last minute goodies for their family meals. THAT will be a Thanksgiving I will never forget!!!

My guess would be yes....it is only Monday after all.

Butterball has a Turkey Hotline this time of year....

Hi Leslie! Good to see you. Sorry about Jessie.....it's hard, I know.

You only need a pirate costume if you want one. At first, I didn't, but I saw one and thought it would probably be the most comfortable dress I wear the entire cruise! (Nice and loose)

We don't really know our rotation yet, but we have requested APL...I think they'll give it to us. We still have you two with us for the late dinner.

I have been putting off trying on my clothes.....I can't seem to stop eating. Oink oink. And I don't have a good excuse!

I can honestly say I've never put a turkey up in a guesthouse. That is ONE LUCKY bird! ;)

Gosh, thanks, "I've never made a turkey".......

I think I'll wait and see what the Scuba family tells me. :teeth:

As long as he is in the fridge now that's a good start. On Wednesday you can always do the cold water thaw. Just means you will have to stay home and watch it as you need to change the water like every half hour. It will work.

Butterball also has a site www.butterball.com if you want to check that out.

BTW I've made a turkey just about every year that we've been married (so 13 of our 14 years). Trust me.

MY fridge is too full!

Leslie,
Welcome back!! Sorry to hear about Jessie. We've got a new puppy who is having complications from spay surgery, but nothing compared to your baby!

Yes, Shutters does make photo cards, but I don't know that they'd be back in time for you to mail from Key West. And I'm not sure I'd do embarkation pictures (kind of a "ha ha, we're on a cruise and you're not" thing) BUT...if you wanted to get a shot on embarkation day, there are usually shutters guys at the pools and you could just stop them and ask them to take a group shot of you. I think that would be cool!

I don't send Christmas cards anymore. Most of my friends probably think I'm dead. If I started now, THEY'D drop over dead from surprise. :)

The Rainforest room sounds great. I'm trying to convince my mom to try it too, but she doesn't like anyting "hot."....no hot tubs, no saunas, nothing. I don't really want to go alone...maybe enough DIS'ers will do it that I can meet up with them there!

Thank you, Mary. It's been awhile since I've had to do it.....

Are you kidding? They've probably made wild, free range turkey basted with a thyme-chardonnay marinade and injected with 16 seasonings.....or some such exotic thing. I'm glad I don't live with them or I'd be 400 pounds!!!

But I wish I had their kids...so I could stop hearing "I don't waaaannnntttt that for dinner"

Two choices for dinner....take it or leave it! HA!

Don't trust me. The closest I'm coming to making turkey for this holiday is I just bought 1/2 a pound of Sara Lee Turkey in the deli today. (of course, I won't eat it--it's for Nick)

Yeah, but you were slamming me in it!! ;) ;) ;)

For many, many years, we went to some friends' house (they've moved away) and we used to deep fry the turkey. Back before it became "popular". Jay made the big pot that we cooked the turkeys in. Those were some gooooood turkeys!

On our last cruise there was actually a Shutters guy IN the pool.

He leaned back just a bit too far to get a good shot of some kid and SPLASH! In he went, fully dressed, camera and all....smacking his head on the side as he went down!!!

Not only do we not have reservations to eat at WDW, we have no plans for Thanksgiving. None. No food bought or ordered, no reservations anywhere. I think we're supposed to provide dinner for DH's Dad too. Ah well. The Thanksgiving fairy will show up, right? Right?
