We have a bottle of wine that a friend made for Christmas with the honey from the bees Jay used to keep....it's corked...(maybe GaRry's horse had good aim.....but I'm afraid to open it. There is something in the bottom of the bottle...particles of some sort.
It looks disgusting. Too bad, because most of her wines are very good. Probably the honey!

Our wine book says those little particles are tartaric acid crystals and are "a good thing". Sometimes called "diamonds". Or they could be honey on the dead yeast cells. It is not uncommon to have particulate matter (DH's word) in home made wines. I'd open it and try it.

Thanks, guys....it's good to know that there is probably nothing wrong with the wine. And it's in such a pretty bottle.....after I drink it, I may fill it up with Boone's Farm, and bring it on the cruise.

Okay everyone it is 4:45am here in Boston and the same news anchor is still on -- and we still have no "Official President"! What a mess! You would have thought that they would have fixed the system after the last presidential election - in 4 yrs they couldn't have fixed it? But it looks like we can continue with Bush - Yippeee! And I live in Kerry Country - he lives about a 10 min walk from my house.

4 years ago Mike and I kept saying "wow, we're glad we don't live in Florida....we don't even want to be associated with that mess."

Well, now WE are the mess. Although, even if every eligible provisional ballot went to Kerry it sounds like mathmatically he still couldn't pull it off. Of course, he COULD get it to the point where he could contest every pregnant chad.

I, as a responsible voter, checked for any hanging, pregnant, bulging, peeking chad yesterday and also verified that I had punched the correct NUMBER space out for EVERY one of my votes.
