Jay refuses to get a water softener. We do have a whole house filter, out by the well....so the water is safer ....just not softer.
(snip)
And, did you know....(another useless tidbit)....I now keep a dictionary by the computer.......doesn't always help, though!

But doesn't a softener help keep the minerals out of your water that can gum up your pipes with sediment and corrosion? Handsome Handyman, do you have an answer for this?

Try Merriam-Webster online....type in the word and it'll give you everything that's close, even if you didn't spell it right. That's what I use for those tricky ones. ;) Mike has it set up so that there is a little box in my toolbar and I can type it in right there and hit enter. ;)

Great pictures!!! Good job, Mary...thank you!!

Our group is getting bigger and bigger!!

No Rose Bowl for us this year.

And that was the Buckeye goal. Hey, Michigan has done that to us on more than one occasion. If they can't take it, they shouldn't dish it out. ;)

We figured 6-4 with a win against Michigan could be called a "rebuilding year" but 6-5 with a loss to Michigan was just outright failure!!! Tressel needs this win to keep his job. Buckeye fans are pretty unforgiving when it comes to losing to Michigan. Look at Cooper.....he had winning seasons every year, but couldn't ever win THE game. He was nearly lynched!

TOP or is that administrator going to work against me?

Script Ohio is AMAZING. I love the OSU marching band!

The Administrator was busy.

Going to pick up Jordan from rehearsal...back in a few.

Mary, actually, could you put Dick and Fran in 6058? I'm *pretty* sure that's where they are. I'll dig out the info to make sure and get back with you.

Who wants to play tag?

Here are the DIS families that said they want to do tag. Remember it is by room - not person. So check your rooms please (and those with TBD hopefully you'll get your room numbers soon or we'll have to add them in onboard).

If you aren't on the list and want to be or if you have any changes let me know by Wednesday. Those who want to play tag will be shown with a T in a mickey ear in the mini-nav.

I learned something very interesting today in puppy class. Actually it's "advanced obedience" but puppy class is easier to say. I thought of Cash when I heard this....it's AMAZING.

We are working on "stay" some more--adding distance, time and distractions (walking by with a pot roast or rolling a ball in front of them)

Anyway, the instructor said that in order for a dog to pass the test to be certified as a service dog they have to hold a "down-stay" (lying down and not getting up) for EIGHT HOURS WITHOUT FALLING ASLEEP and without any sort of food, chew toy or other thing to keep them busy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So they lay there. Awake. Alert. Ready for action, but not getting up.

Heck, I can't even do that for EIGHT hours!!!

That is just amazing. The question is, who has to sit there for 8 hours to monitor the dog in the test?

Karen - got it! Do they want a T for tag?

Never mind - saw your answer when mine posted. They have a T

Yup. Navigate them, Tag them, give them the full DIS-hazing! HA!

And I checked 6058 is correct.

To all those U of M fans. I'm sorry for my early celebrating. I was thinking we ruined your season. But....

It'll only be TRULY ruined if Wisconsin wins today. If Wisconsin loses, U of M will still go to the Rose Bowl. So as soon as the OSU-Michigan game is over my cheer will then become:

GO BADGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Karen - they know that they are loved! Wait till they get on board and see how popular you guys are.:D

Yeah, I'm sure my dad will be good for a joke about it....I can hear it now....
"wow, what happened?? you've got friends?? heck, when you were a kid we had to tie a pork chop around your neck just to get the dog to play with you!!!!" ;)

Or how about the time when my dad put my school picture in the hay mow.....because there were too many mice up there and he was sure *that* picture would scare them away!!

(sigh) it's no wonder I turned out "normal" ;)

And ya'll wondered why I didn't want to link tables with any of you! ;)

Found this on the internet about the drug my dog is on:

The recommended dosage for acepromazine is 0.25mg to 1mg per pound of body weight

So....she's a 38# dog....and she's on 25 mg (which would be the dose for a 100# dog) and they told me this is a low dose and can go up from there if needed!!! WOW!!!!!!
