I'm pretty sure we're planning to meet on deck 10 during the Sail-away party. Overlooking the party. I would imagine some folks will be wearing the t-shirts, so we should be easy to find. And anyone you can find in the terminal to introduce yourself to is fair game, too.

We haven't planned a night for the wine party because we don't have a schedule from DCL yet on which nights are formal, etc. The plan is to schedule it on a night when nothing really amazing is going on.

I would imagine most of us will see each other at the Castaway Cay party, and quite a few at the DVC get-together. Might as well get in the habit of getting a large table wherever you go! If you don't want to hang out with the "gang", you might want to take a big hat and shades.

Dee, there's a "party" on the ship for Castaway Club members, it's in the Navigators. The DVC get together is for members of Disney Vacation Club on the ship. We got an invitation to this one last time. No biggie, they give away prizes and stuff, and have a DVC trivia game.

Didn't think so...

Whatcha cooking, GaRry? I need some inspiration. DS is going through this "food attitude" stage -- everything mom suggests is yucky...Aren't 8 year-olds supposed to be past this?????????????

Why don't you make him come up with a couple of dinner menus then? Might prove to be interesting! Of course healthy food guidelines might prove necessary....

I thought the plan was to meet at 3pm on sailaway day. We've done a DIS meet at sailaway and it is very crowded and very noisy. On our last cruise we did it at 3pm and it was much quieter. Gave everyone time to meet and talk, then off to the lifeboat drill and then sailaway. With everyone meeting at 3 they'll already know each other and we can still get togehter at sailaway to party!

Kids always get to pick the dinner for their birthday. One year dd picked deviled eggs, carrots and apple juice. I think that same year ohiomickey and I ordered a pizza after the kids went to bed. Last year ds picked macaroni and cheese, mandarin oranges and orange cheese puffs (the orange dinner)

Sounds about right. LOL That's why I stipulated the "healthy" food criteria.

Well...here I am....got Mom on her plane. She should have just landed in Omaha a few minutes ago.

Mary, it's a good thing you're making a Navigator...or is it just a list of us DIS'ers names & cabin #s?
Someone is going to have to tell me where to be, on what day, and at what time! And give me at least 10 minutes warning before the party starts in my room!

Got my new glasses today, and I'm trying to adjust. They're smaller than the old ones, so my "lines" are different.

Off to take Jared to soccer....back later.

GaRry........our shift sounds a little different.

Our "24 hour shift committee" comprised of management and union picked the "least compressed shift" for us. They were looking at 3 different shift schedules.
The shift schedules were studied for fatigue and family impact etc. by some American Doctor ( forget the name )

We had no say in the matter. It was chosen for us.

Its the one with a 5 day off stretch and a 7 day off stretch.

We work two 24's every week of the month except one week where we only work one 24.

I'll bring a shift calender with me to show you in December.

The kids will be too wound up at sailaway time.

Hi Just stopped by for a quick HI

things have been busy. Picked up DD's puppy today. She is part golden retreiver and part unknown. She is soo cute. DD was surprised when she realized why we were there. The owner of the momma turned out to be the sister of my uncle's ex-wife. She recognized me (& hadn't seen me since I was 6 or7) Small World!

Back from soccer....had some dinner. Took 2 Excedrin. Darn new glasses! Feeling a little better.

Mary....sorry, I guess I forgot the 3 pm thing too...too much going on in my little pea brain. But that sounds great! I'll be anywhere anyone wants me to be!

Jay had his last day of jury duty on Tuesday. They went to lunch at Alice Cooperstown, and are planning a party in December. Sounds like they really bonded in those 3 months. Made me giggle a little...he sounds like me when I talk about you all!!

I found the cutest Santa ornament at Hallmark. He's a Caribbean Santa, and he dances and it plays music. He will be coming with us on the cruise. Now I know why people used steamer trunks in the old days....I could use about four of them!
Do we get two bags per person?
Can I rent a U-Haul at the airport?

Going to pay for my e-bay items...cool stuff for Jordan...back in a few.
I'm going to have to start shopping for Jared pretty soon....
