I've got a dd who will be 10 1/2 (that all important 1/2.) WVMD has a dd who will just be turning 10 in Nov. We're a crazy bunch of ppl. and we're gonna have a good time this December Mary (WDWLVR) is doing pins, contact her if you need info--she also has a monthly newsletter she does up with lots of good info. She'll PM you the info and password. GaRry (wdwgoose) is doing shirts, contact him for info. We'll meet for a DIS meet at ? 3:00 on deck 10 (do I have that right) Many of us are doing MVMCP on 12/17, pre cruise.
That's some big stuff that'll help as you try to figure us out!

So sorry for sniping 11,000! I actually looked at the post count and it was at 10994 when I started typing my response to Annie. I figured I'd be 10995 or 10996 or so, but NO, while I was typing ya'll chatted up a storm and I ended up, accidentally 11,000.

I couldn't have PLANNED that! Seriously.

No I'm not at work..........I guess we are not on the same shift.

Starting in January our District will be going on a "trial" 24 hour shift for one year. All other districts will still be on the regular 10 hour days and 14 hour nights.
I'm looking forward to only working 7 or 8 days a month.
It will take a little getting used to it I think.

By the way I got your PM about the avatar.
I'll stick with my running T-Rex. He looks hungry and thirsty. He will want to eat and drink lots come December.

Just start posting.......I'd say don't even bother trying to catch up at this point.
Mary's got a newsletter on-line.
You need a password for it.
I'm sure she will PM you on it.
In my opinion that would be the way to catch up.
It's hard enough when you have 10 pages to catch up on.

Mary.....just a suggestion.

Perhaps for the November newsletter, ( will that be the last one)
you could include all the DIS meets on board with locations and times.

The ones I can think of are:

Dec 18th......... somewhere for drinks? or was that the wine tasting that day?
I propose we have a so-called captains meeting for the "TAG" game at the same time.

Palo Brunch?

What other DIS meets were there on board?

Without our verandah we'd be sitting IN our room with our sleeping children.

Of course, if we didn't have kids we could go to deck 4, or aft 7 or wherever we wanted and we wouldn't feel so closed in.

Ditto on that response! We LOVE the verandah for the same reasons PLUS, it offers a place for the scuba equipment to dry without hanging in the bathroom.

Gus (Afff for those who haven't got names and screen names hooked up yet), we're also in connecting cat 10s. We had cat 10 for our first cruise, then were complimentarily (is that a word, Karen??) upgraded from a porthole to a verandah on our Wonder trip in 2003. Yes, it was nice. No I wouldn't have paid the $$$$ for it. Since it was there, we used it (especially because DH and DD were quarantined with the Norwalk virus), but I didn't like walking around the bed all the time. With the inside rooms, the bed is against the wall, so the only one who has to walk around is the one sleeping on the back side of the bed, and that's only 1-2 times a day!

We usually went up to deck 10 to watch the sunrise (saw our fellow DISers up there more than once)!, with a wake up cup of coffee in hand. Of course, our kids are big enough to leave in the cabin now if they're sleeping, so I don't have Karen's problem. They make all different room categories for a reason!

Keep those fingers flying folks! Got to get to GaRry's 12,000 posts!

btw, I would not have come up with that word on my own had I been posting about the subject. I would have written "when we were....." uhhh...can't think of a word, so I would have re-written it to say "when we received a complementary upgrade..." thus avoiding the use of that adverb!! GUS YES it is great to do 24 hrs. 9 - 11 days a month.
the BEST work days is 1 I found They worked on rotatting schuldule. like us. They did mon. wed. fri. sun. then off for 9 DAYS.

THAT WOULD BE THE BEST.......

we do mon. wed. fri. then wed fri sun then fri sun tues.

and soo on.

open water dive is sat. sun in BOWLING GREEN OH its an old stone quarry. all ground water. wheres a hot spring when you need one???????????
