Hi Everyone - I just wanted to stop in and introduce myself... We will be on the Dec. 18th cruise with you. It will be myself (Ann), DH (Randy - DIS Name is goofyaboutmickey7) and DD (Jaclyn). We are starting off our holiday with a week at WDW - with friends from Pennsylvania that we met on our first cruise (thanks to the DIS) and have been travelling together ever since ... Normally my husband and I are on the Boards regularly, but this has been a hectic year - we moved to a new city, which means new jobs, new school, etc., etc... and haven't had the time to post ... This will be our first Christmas cruise and we are looking forward to it ... Kabuli is the one who talked us into it on our February cruise... I'll try to read the 733 pages on this thread to get caught up, but if anyone can give me the coles notes, that would be great...

Welcome Annie, glad you found us! Let's see, 777 pages divided by slightly more than 70 days? Sounds like 10 pages a day, plus all our new posts. Yep, definitely do-able! Just kidding. You'll pick up our personalities quickly enough, since we are all sooooo memorable!

How old is your DD? There is a teen/pre-teen thread also on the meet board. Thread starter is tinkdancer. That's Dancind and tinksdad's daughter. My DD is 12 1/2, and she posts there occasionally.

Hi TDKLisa - Our DD will be just a few weeks shy of her 11th birthday. She will be meeting up with a friend from Buffalo, NY who she was inseparable with on our last cruise. They've kept in touch and are doing lots of cruise planning, too... I know she'll be excited about the thread...

I'm scared to find out the price difference, we currently are in a Cat 10.
If it is an outrageous difference, we are going to stay with the 10.

Anyone please tell me something............yes I know, a veranda would be nice BUT do you really spend a lot of time in your room. I suppose it depends if you have kids or not.

If one did NOT have a veranda that would force one to not spend a lot of time in your room.

I am becoming very jealous of all you veranda people.....we will see what the prices are. I'm sure my TA will let me know if one becomes available.

Gus - The Cat. 4 Deluxe Family Verandah this a.m. was going for $11,438.40 for 4 people (2 adults, 2 kids under 9).......that's without air, without transfers and without insurance.

We love a verandah because my son crashes early and we are "trapped" in the room. So we sit on our verandah and have a glass of something and enjoy the views. Then in the morning we are first up and while the kids still sleep (mostly b/c dd stayed in the lab till 1:00 am) we can go out on the verandah and enjoy a cup of coffee and plan for the day.

Without our verandah we'd be sitting IN our room with our sleeping children.

Of course, if we didn't have kids we could go to deck 4, or aft 7 or wherever we wanted and we wouldn't feel so closed in.

I've been reading (with envy) many of your posts about REAS and making those Palo/Spa ressies early -- so I decided to hop on the bandwagon and add REAS to our package too. We usually spend the money anyway on the spa, so it looks like a good deal when you throw in all the extras! Now, how do I make those reservations? I know I saw the name and phone # of the DCL person to call somewhere in these 700+ pages of posts!!!
