T-shirt Info!

I've seen a number of posts from people confused about the t-shirts and also got an e-mail so I thought I would help clear it up.

From gaRry- many many pages ago:

THE SHIRT COLOR IS OF YOUR CHOICE

same as size

the logo must stay the same on all shirts style and color

the shirt can be a white t shirt polo shirt dress shirt

so don't think everyone has to get the SAME SIZE OR COLOR

Then from Stacey back on page 448:

My vote: Since the ship will have the red stripe, make the names of the islands and the stars red.
The ship's life boats will be gold....make the color of the islands gold.
Most of the ship will be black & white, if the islands are gold, they will "stand out" a little...and so will the names & stars if they are red.
For the front logo...I like all of them. Hard to pick just one. Being A-type, I think the colors should match..like have the logo be red or gold.
I like the idea of a blue (not navy) shirt, so that it really looks like the ship is in the water.
Okay....just my two cents.........anyone else???

Bottom line: for the t-shirts the design we picked was the islands design gold islands and the names and stars in red. I thought we had agreed to the green logo on the front as most of us were picking blue shirts. Remember that the shirt color is what the "water" of the islands is. So if you want red water you can pick a red shirt. We picked lime green for the logo on the front since that is the DIS color and it would look like this.

Now if you want other kinds of shirts (button-down, polo, etc.) just let gaRry know.

Also if you want the tie-die shirt leg GaRry know.

OK - I hope that doesn't confuse the issue more and if I have anything wrong please correct me.

Another TinksDad Alert (you are a popular guy tonight)

It finally arrived!! The UPS Guy made my day....he delivered my DUI drysuit. I am now ready, once I figure out how to dive with it, for my November SouCal trip. I guess DS and I will have to go to Forty Fathoms for a little training.

Well, actually the DUI was only part of the evenings event. DS made the perfect prime rib for dinner. What a joy to come home to a slow roasted, season encrusted, medium rare prime rib. He is going to make some woman very happy some day.

GaRry-Just sent you my shirt order. Please let me know if you need anymore info.
Thanks for all the work you are doing on this and for keeping track of the LIST!!

He can come live here with us and make me a very happy woman! Or, how does he feel about younger women? I have a 10 yr old that will be looking for a spouse in approx 25 years (when I finally allow her to date)

Thanks for the shirt info, Mary.

Jim, I assume that you cook too. At least, that's what it sounded like during the hurricane. Kevin cooks in a pinch, but doesn't believe in looking at recipes much. Maybe it's kind of like asking for directions?

The UPS guy visited us today, too. A new coffee roaster! Kevin buys green coffee beans, from Tanzania when we can get them, and roasts them so our coffee is always fresh! Garry would like it here.

of course, i was having the thought "why didn't i organize a DIS meet in my bathroom and invite tinksdad????"

DW read this and commented that you have it all wrong. To get TinksDad to visit you, you simply need to host a dive trip to visit the Great Lake Wrecks. Divers will do anything to get a dive trip in.

Well, this was just your day wasn't? How cool is that? Not even Christmas yet or anything.

Did you get a inflator hose with the suit? BTW, which one did you get?

Am I that shallow? No, just predictable..... I would dive a quarry:bounce:

I got the DUI FLX 50/50. I've been such a good boy that I did not have to wait until Christmas.

DW knows us (divers) all too well. She get's me to drive all over Florida to all DD gymnastics meets by pointing out the diving near by. She uses it to her advantage. There will have to be some this winter near the Springs for me to use the new DUI.

a few??????

WAAAA!

I did a bad thing. As I was finishing up, it was getting darker in the bathroom. So I turned the light on. :earseek: :earseek:

Should have just kept it off. I could have replaced the 100 watt bulb with a nightlight bulb and it would look just fine forever. After all, it is the master bath, wouldn't very very dim lighting be more romantic???

Tomorrow I'll sand, then recoat. We'll see how it looks after that. I may just accept it that way rather than do a "few" coats. A "few" of anything is too many when it comes to manual labor!

Btw, my arm feels like jello. And the plans are to prime it, paint it, and then put up a wallpaper border. Of course, if it looks awful after painting, I may add in a sponge painting step. ;)

No need for a drop cloth. The floor now is subfloor. We decided to save step until AFTER painting! :)
I know what you mean, sanding is a royal PITA! However, just do enough to take down the high spots, don't sand the entire thing down to the paper.
When I spoke of a few coats; The sanding after the first coat drys will tell you what SPOTS need to be gone over again. Hit those low spots and then let it dry. You really should need more than a couple of passes, with the second or third (if necessary) will only be applied in very select areas.

That said; Texture will hide many sins! That's why most "professionals" use it. It cuts down on the multiple coats, ie - work! Once you get the whole thing float, and fill in the divots, sand it once more and then take a foxtail broom and clean off the wall. Then turn on that 100w bulb and looks for imperfections. Coat those spots again and you'll be ready. A smooth wall will show through minor problems a lot more readily than a textured wall (just something to keep in mind).

Let me know if you need any help, I'm glad to do it.
Any diving around your area..............

So where are the "boys" doing their open water check out dives?

The only water deep enough that can be seen in around here are abandoned stone quarries. Most of the schools in the area use them. We are on lake Erie but it is much to murkey.

Man, Hey honey, you read that!!

The drysuit will work great for those springs. I have to come back and dive Ginnie again. Really enjoyed that!

Maybe when we come in May. We are planning dives then.

We will be here in May for some diving. We could do some springs or do a drift in Ft. Lauderdale. Possibly a drift in Crystal River, but probably to late for the manatee.

Of course you don't have to wait until May to go diving. Aren't you going to be in Orlando in December for a couple of days and have all your gear with you?

Ginnie is currently flooded out. We were going this weekend, but will have to go to another spring.

Thanks for everyone's kind words about the articles, and thanks for letting me stay here :) PHEW!!

I'm so glad there are people like you working in such a demanding field!

Thanks, Lisa, but I really just write about the people who work in such a demanding field, and other equally demanding fields of medicine.

Linda, how did you get a resie at Liberty Treee Tavern when we're not at the 90-day mark yet? Or did the policy change on me again? My last several visits to WDW were in decidedly off-peak times, so I never bothered with PS. We simply walked over to the restaurant of our choice and got seated. Uh...the good old days!
:teeth: Come to think of it, it's been a year since my last visit. Way too long!

GarRy, I sent you a PM before Mary clarified the T-shirts issue. I think basically you just ignore the design part and all the rest of the info still fits, right?

We're seriously trying to decide about shore excursions now. And I'm starting to stress about packing, especially since I have several conferences to go to between now and the cruise. Makes packing ahead a hassle!

Off to Tae Kwon Do. I'm still just a lowly Yellow Belt after 9 months in training...Sigh.
