Good Morrning All!

Take care Floridians!

Lynda - That old house sounds like it was pretty cool! There's just not much personality in newer houses.

Did that make sense? I guess what I mean is, how do you have more than one on the DSL?
OK, so that was a pretty "blonde" statement. Oh wait, I have seen your pictures.. LOL (Paul made me do that!)

First you have to get DSL, a DSL modem and each computer will need a network card. I like the hard wired type, but the advances in wireless net cards and modems are pretty exciting. It's really pretty easy, and Fast as heck. Our DSL runs on the same phone line with the appropriate filters, you don't notice a thing.

If you're not by a switching station, DSL may not be available. Try cable. It's only money.

That Paul just keeps causing trouble!!! ;)

I have DSL.....that's what this one is on. Guess I forgot about the little box on top of my CPU! Hey, I hardly got any sleep last night, give me a break!
We have two phone lines, this computer is plugged into the 2nd line. BUT.....(here's a non-blonde thought) I could plug this computer into line #1 (our home phone) but use the DSL sign up, and then plug my lap top into line #2 and use dial-up!
Right?

How many people have a headache from all that now?

I feel like Mary, from Babes in Toyland..."This is much too hard for me....."

Thumper is another one of my favorite "characters"....not that you'd see him in the parks!
GaRry was trying to convince us that he saw Bambi at WDW, but I still don't believe him!

See what happens? From now on, you'll probably get blamed for everything!!:smooth:

Looks like we won't be Disney's first 10 day cruise :( The system is moving so slow I doubt if the port can open tomorow. Waves in the area are still very high.

Okay, my computer-savvy friends.....how do I change the name wayoutwest to the name Jordan wants?

If that is true, I guess we'll have to rename the thread. I like Stacey's idea of "The 1st ever DCL Fun 10 day cruise"!

Paul

Or we could change it to Disney's 1st every PLANNED 10 day cruise. I think for the most part those on board right now are having fun. Especially since they only had to pay for a 7 day cruise!

You are right again Mary!

Paul

Stacey, if you have a hub, you can connect BOTH computers to DSL. More than one computer can use it at the same time. Call your DSL provider, or go to the website, I'm sure they can help you figure out how to do this.

Yeah, I think out of everyone, the Magic cruisers got the best deal out of this hurricane. Hey, MJ (Margarita Jim), why didn't you think of that? I bet there was some great deals to get on that cruise date in the first place. Where's that 2 pm update? Hope the laptop didn't run out of juice.

Our 2 pm was a little delayed. Just finished cooking the New York Stips, Lobster tail (which I got in a deal with the neighbor for the V-8), marinated Portabella mushrooms, and grilled vegitables. Of course there was a nice bottle of wine for me. The kids are loving this as I go through the food in the freezer. A hurricane is no reason to suffer when it comes to food.

It is windy and rainy. The wind is hanging in around the 50-70 MPH. We do not have any damage, but neighbors have lost trees and screen rooms. We continue with no power. Schools are already closed for Tuesday. I hope they don't start talking about making up this time at Christmas.

We got the kids outside for a while this morning and had a great time. They put on their bathingsuits and had a blast. Washed them off in the pool afterwards. Even the dog went outside. DW stayed inside, of course.

I am trying to figure out how to hook up the generate to run the AC. Sharon can live without most everything else, but when it's 95 degrees AC is tough to be without.

Stay tuned for the 5 PM update, if it does not interfere with dinner (Maybe pork tenderloin).

Good Afternoon!

Jordan and I are headed to an outdoor mall that they call Desert Ridge. Going to try to find her some cruise clothes. (Any excuse will do)
Then I'll head to Home Depot and get my repair supplies for tomorrow.

See ya later. Stay safe Floridians!

T.O.P.!!!!!!

Whoo Hoo! Doesn't take much to get me excited these days!

Perfect day for an outdoor mall, only 86!

Mary....... can you or will you change the Subject Title?

What a novel idea.

Scuba - love your updates. Sounds like you are making the best of a bad situation. Enjoy!

Afff - ohiominnie will have to be the one to change the title as she is the one who started the thread. Let's see what happens with the Magic tomorrow. They are now saying that they will board at 7pm and leave a 10 pm so it still looks like a 9 day cruise for them. :D

Lynda, I can't imagine the ceiling falling around you all. That sounds like my grandparents house (mom's parents). I can remember steaming off about that many layers of wallpaper and paint when they were both in the hospital while I was in high school. The family was determined to clean it out while they were gone!

Lisa

No steamer.....all we did was soak it down with a sprayer full of a chemical glue dissolver and let it soak in before scraping...You wouldn't believe it. It was like scraping a layer of cardboard off the wall...There was even a wall of that dark green flocked wallpaper so popular in the '40's....Someone had also used a big chunk of petticoat to patch an area behind the gas heater where some previous owner had removed the old wainscoating.....RRipppp....

My Hippie days. When I was raising money for the Stroke Association last year I set up my spinning wheel outside a little cafe near here and gave yarn-spinning demonstrations with a big 'ol pickle jar nearby for donations....Made $400....Yayyyy!
