WELL..... Back from the game - spending the night in Morgantown.... DW is upset that I brought the laptop to log on.....

In case you missed it - WVU won - KayJay Harris rushed for over 300 yards... It was a great game.... A lot of stupid penalties - have to do better playing a better team than East Carolina....

Stingfan..... Be safe.... You are all definitely in our prayers tonight.....

I agree. Another way you can go about it using Internet Explorer is by going to tool bar and clicking on Tools=> Internet Options => Delete Cookies. That should do it, in fact it's a good idea to do that, plus clear out Temporary files every so often. All those old urls and cookies slow down your computer some.

He is not just a handyman, he is also a computer technician. Being an Eagle Scout sure did pay off. I bet he can cook too!

Well, the crises has passed. I was able to get some margarita mix from the neighbors. I had to give up butter for their lobster tails and marsala for their mushrooms. What a price to pay.

We are just getting some rain which won't be letting up until tomorrow. Vero Beach is getting hammered pretty hard and will continue to get it until morning.

Hi guys.....it's Stacey. Had to use the account I was trying to set up for DH to post with a long time ago. Somewhere along the line of trying to get Jordan on the teen site, I have lost myself.
I log in, which I have to do since clearing, or disabling or eating my cookies.....and it pops right back with the login page.

So, I'll use this, or I guess I could sign on with MSN....maybe I'll let Jordan use this one, since DH is computer illiterate. And he was an Eagle Scout, too.

scuba diver....glad things are better for you there. Would hate to have you go w/o margaritas.......no, seriously, I hope the worst has passed.

Virgil......DH wouldn't let me take the lap top to Vegas....I think he and Frances will get along great!! We have friends who used to live in Morgantown, by the way. They have moved to Coatesville, PA. Probably a good thing they don't live near you. Their youngest son is constantly in and out of the ER's.........

I guess I'll save working on this latest "problem" with my computer until tomorrow.
The info I'm getting is that it's because of AOL. Went in and put "Allow" for the DIS......thought that would do it, but no....

Back later,
Stacey

AANNDD, able to leap medium sized buildings with two or three leaps!:bounce:

Well, it's good to see that the crisis/disaster has not hurt your sense of humor. Looking at the National Weather Service's web site, shows this storm is VERY big. Looks like it covers most of Florida, or will when it get over you all.
We have had sympathy rains here in New Mexico as not to leave us out of the fun from Tropical Storm Howard off the West coast. Kind of like a husband having sympathy morning sickness with a pregnant wife....... not quite the same!

Once you clear the computer of the cookies (mmm, I love chocolate chip) and you log on again with your name and password, the cookies should be reattached to that computer. You didn't change your security settings to disallow cookies did you?

Just another thought. Most Windows operating systems will allow you to set up several "users" that you can change on boot up. This will associate the proper cookies, login names with the proper user from the boot. Just ask your kids, they can set it up....LOL

Ummmm......security settings? I might have. Now what?

I DID figure out how to at least add a picture on here, so that it doesn't look quite so barren.

For a smart lady, I sure can be stupid sometimes.

:Pinkbounc wayoutwest got her first T.O.P.!!!:bounce: LOL

It was just a guess. If you not sure, then you probably didn't. To make sure, go to Tools=> Internet Options => Privacy => Advanced, and look for the settings. To accept 1st and 3rd party cookies is by default set up. You would have to change those settings with two or three mouse clicks to unselect.

You might try to reboot the computer and go from there. It's amazing what a good boot in the ram will do for a 'puter.
Also make sure the DIS options have enabled to accept cookies as well.

I went in and thought that I set it to accept cookies.....maybe not. I guess I could try "turning back the clock" on the computer. Is that the same as re-boot?
I love computers, but I hate computers.
Kinda like men. Can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em!

I gave up on that stupid AOL for now. I even went in and put "accept 1st and 3rd party cookies"......still didn't help.

Soooo irritating!

Going to say good night for tonight. Guess I'll deal with this tomorrow.

GaRry.....sent you a PM.....just e-mail me for now, since this thing is all a mess. Thanks.

GOOD SUNDAY MORNING TO ALL OF THE HOLIDAY CRUISERS!!

Good night!

Stacey

AHH, all this talk of spackle, joint compound and drywall reminds me of our first house...We scraped 12 layers of wallpaper and 1 layer of paint off the plaster walls and one day, when I was not home, my handyhubby started pulling the stuff off the ceiling (12 foot ceiling in this 85-year-old house) and the whole ceiling came right down around his ears....It seems as though all that was holding the ceiling up was the 12 layers of wallpaper and 1 layer of paint.....
We learned a lot about lath and plaster construction that year...and that was the year I became an expert at the long lost art of glazing windows....

Oh, that was also the house with the wood cookstove as the only means of cooking (pre-microwave days), the huge vegetable garden in the back yard and the little back porch where I taught various and sundry people how to tan hides and spin wool, angora, and silk yarn.

Such memories....

Goodnight, Chet....

:flower1: Good Morning Cruisers! :flower1:

Blessed Sunday Everyone!

Happy Anniversary to Angela & Paul :love2:

Thoughts going out to all our cruisers in Florida. I can't begin to imagine what it is like to live through a night of constant storms. Stay safe and check in when you can. We are worried about all of you!

Well, just checking in. It's 7:30 am local time and it's been raining and blowing all night. It looks like it will be going like this all day long.

We just lost power so this will be our last check in for a while. Down South around Melbourne and Vero have been hit pretty hard.

I'll just have to run my blender off the car battery once the wind dies down.

Morning all. Angela, thanks for checking in, and Happy Anniversary!

Ken/Cindy/Leslie, stay safe! Sounds like Mary Chapin Carpenter's song "we have hurricane parties every time it blows!" Glad you can have fun in all this.

Stacey, I have to laugh about the cookie problem. I opened the page and thought "cool, a new poster. Boy she sounds awfully friendly!" Little did I know!

Lynda, sounds like you were quite the earth mother. I can't imagine the ceiling falling around you all. That sounds like my grandparents house (mom's parents). I can remember steaming off about that many layers of wallpaper and paint when they were both in the hospital while I was in high school. The family was determined to clean it out while they were gone!

I don't think I ever answered my favorite character. I'd say it's probably Belle. I'm quite a reader, so I kind of identify with her.

Got the weeds cleaned out. That was no fun! But it's done.

Happy Sunday everyone. Lisa

Been there, done that!!

Most of the older houses were plastered over wood lath (little strips of wood with a space between) and over the years, especially the ceiling it's hold was lost. Plaster weighs quite a bit too, hope hubby wasn't hurt.

Good Morning all!

Not that it really is, since my cookies crumbled!

Very nice day outside so far. Much cooler last night and this morning. I have the patio door opened behind my chair here, and the fresh air is marvelous. 72 outside!

Maybe I'll just keep using MSN, and let Jordan have wayoutwest. She wants to be SleepingBeauty14, though. I guess it's possible to just change the name.

Stayed up way too late last night. Had a pile of catalogs, and finished my Christmas shopping, except for just a few people. Now all I need is a picture for the cards and I'll be set to go.
I always try to be ready before Thanksgiving.....this year I'll be done before Halloween!

Question: Is there really a 70's night on the Magic? What exactly does that mean? Is it a party in one of the lounges? Do you have to wear a "costume"?
Okay, that was 4 questions.

Back in a few.

Stacey

Yes, there's a 70s night, an 80s night, and maybe even a 60s night. There's also Match Your Mate night. They are all in Off Beat. I don't think you have to wear a costume for the theme nights, it just makes it more fun. I bought a disco era dress, but not sure if it will make the trip. It's in my projected size.

Another solution to the multiple ID problem: buy another computer! Yes, I confess, we are a three computer household, all hooked up to DSL. That's why Tinksdad and I may be posting at the same time sometimes.

Hi Diana!
Thanks for the info....I have a 60's/70's dress that would fit no matter what size...it's pretty flowy. Just don't know if I really want the extra things in the suitcase.

I have my lap top....but don't I hve to plug it in to my phone jack, which would be dial-up, and then my telephone would be busy?
Did that make sense? I guess what I mean is, how do you have more than one on the DSL?

11:00 Update. Neighbors ran out of V-8 juice. I was able to help them out. Still no damage, just no power. We will be like this for hours. The kids just had brownie and fudgesicles for breakfast. Had to finish them up. Sounds like breakfast on DC.

Start watching for Hurricane Ivan. The 5 day forecast has it over Cuba.

Off until the 2 pm update.
