Stacey - the Magic went to CC on Sunday instead of Friday this week. They planned ahead for this one. I feel really sorry for the 3 day Wonder cruises leaving tomorrow - as they probably won't get to go at all - and who know where they'll end up - definitely will be a mystery cruise.....

I'm sure that they'll evacuate the islands - hope every body is safe.....Hopefully CC will survive without too much damage....

A TOP WITHOUT TRYING!!!!!

Today I saw on another thread that everyone on the Wonder that goes that they will be "at sea" for three days, no port stops and that they are giving $300 per stateroom credit.

Guess they will be doing alot of drinking each day or bingo playing!

Linda

Or shopping........

Bummer....no port stops at all?

I wouldn't have wanted an inside cabin for that cruise.

But I'm still wondering about the CM's at CC. We went to CC the first day, instead of Nassau during Isabel for that very reason. Which moved the wedding to the first day of the cruise rather than the last...which turned out great, we got it over with and got to relax and have a great time. Ended up, our weather was beautiful too. We were really lucky.

DING DING DING!!!

That's me, tapping on a wine glass.......

I have an official announcement to make so I need your attention!

Each and every Holiday Cruiser is cordially invited to the official DIS Wine Tasting Party

On whichever day the DISer's decide upon

In Stateroom number 8602......the new home of the Stenson's

No more wondering about where we'll have our party.....I got a call from DCL, and I have DVC4US's (LeiLani) former room...the one in the far aft with the monster verandah.
Still not enough beds to separate the kids, so DS will be bringing an air mattress......but couldn't pass up the concierge and the view!

Stacey

That would be a bummer - no ports at all. I have been following the thread on the boards and I know a lot of people cruising this weekend are concerned. Right now no one knows what is going on and what plans to make. Not only do I feel for all those people living on the east coast of FL but I hope PC & CC make it through with little damage.

gaRry - Shirts(I am going to steal a page from Mary)

STYLE OF SHIRT - T-shirt

SIZES - 2 XL, 1 Med, and 1 Small (all adult)

DESIGN - Islands

NAMES - LeiLani - DVC4US (XL)
Rich - DVC4US' DH (XL)
Just put the design (front & back) on the other 2 and not the names because I know the girls would not want that.

COLOR - Blue shirt with lime green logo/names on front

HOW MANY - 4

Thanks so much for all the hard work and let me know where to send the money.

No, it doesn't confuse me--too much. I'm just wishing Albuquerque wasn't so far from Ohio. I'd hire you to come do this for me in a heartbeat!!!

I don't care too much about imperfections. I'd rather have it DONE with slight imperfections than NOT DONE. My mom is one to not do something because it might be imperfect. I'm like my dad, I'd rather just finish it even if it's not perfect. :) I even figured if there were too many imperfections in it, then I'd sponge paint it--that hides A LOT!
If you do it yourself, you can definitely stand a "few" imperfections. It's a learning experience and your ability will get better with practice.

Run a roller through drywall mud and "paint it on?" Maybe I'll just go with smooth. :)

What's your thoughts on that lightweight spackle? Good for lightly covering a room or would you go with the heavier "mud?"

I'll be so excited to show you pictures of this!!
That's correct! The spackle is fine, it's just harder to get a consistent look. But, if your happy with it, then it's all good!!

By all means, bring one (or two) with you this Christmas!

That's great to hear Stacey. At least now we know where the party room will be.:bounce: :Pinkbounc :jumping3: :thewave:

LeiLani

So, who here thinks my DH should have a column in the newspaper? "The Remodeling Answer Man". They don't know what they're missing. Not that I knew what he was talking about.

From what I hear of the Bahama excursions for the most part, I wouldn't mind the day on the ship. Especially not with a $300 credit! I would miss CC though.

Diana,
I think a newspaper column is a great idea....but you need a better name for it.
How about "The Handsome Handyman" ??

Thanks, LeiLani...we're pretty pumped. And I said the Wine Party not the party room...as in, all the teens for the whole entire cruise! Remember, HorseDude is reading now!

Hello Everyone!
Greetings from beautiful sunny So FL - Ha Ha Ha!!!! Okay, enough of these hurricanes already. Frances is due to hit 70 miles north of us early Sat morning. Schools are closed Thurs and Fri (mostly to get them prepared for the evacuees as most are hurricane shelters). Things around here are crazy. Gas stations out of gas, bottled water, canned goods, bleach and stuff flying off the shelves. Hopefully it will turn again and everyone will be safe.
I know I'm kinda late but my name is sorta self explanatory. Sting fan cb - cb are my initials and I'm a huge fan of Sting the musician (not the wrestler!). Have been ever since his Police days. Friends say that I'm obsessed ..... Doesn't everyone fly to different cities to see him in concert???? (By the way, he's in our town next Wednesday.)
Gotta go - the 7:00 hurricane coodinates should be out.

Stacey - Almost forgot - what's this about getting to do a vow renewal? Sounds great - give me more info!!!! (I also want to lose weight before then/mainly because I plan on gaining while on the cruise. Weight Watchers can't get rid of me that easy, nope, not a chance.)

Scuba Diver, are you there? Are you planning a weekend in Orlando?

Naw, Stacey. DH likes people like you. Half his business is going in and fixing what others have messed up, and it's not always the homeowner. Lots of times it's other contractors!

Yes, I'm here and a little disappointed. We had a dive trip planned this weekend in Ft. Lauderdale. Of course that is gone. We just don't understand why the hurricanes keeping picking Friday and Saturday to come. Why not Tuesday! It just ruins the weekend and this one being a holiday one too. We will get everything cleaned up just in time to go back to work on Tuesday. How inconsiderate of both Charlie and Frances.

There is some talk it might turn north and if that happens it's off to Ginnie Springs. At least I can run my blender from the car so I won't be without some tropical drinks for the weekend.

By the way, now that Tinksdad is posting handy man tips this thread has just taken off. Way to go getting him involved by posting tips. The whole family is now reading waiting for the next tip. If I have power after the storm I'll post to get his advice on how to replace windows, the roof, garage door.....

Woo Hoo - Party in Stacey's room! Can we come even if we don't drink wine :D

Tina - so glad you are coming to Hershey. I thought I was missing someone. We'll have to coordinate cell phone numbers with those going so we can meet up!

Diana - I definately think you DH should run a column. Or better yet have a call-in radio show. We have a remodeling pro who does that in Chicago.

Stingfan, Leslie, Scuba Diver and everyone else in the path of Frances (the hurricane - not Virgil's wife) please take care! You are in my thoughts and prayers!

My gal at Fairytale Weddings was going to try to get a note to the Captain, since he has final approval on the number of renewals that he will do. We had been told that there would only be two done on the cruise, but it seemed stupid, since it was a 10-day, with 3 at sea days. So we're waiting to hear from the Capt. But he has a few more important things on his mind right now, I'm sure...so it could be a while before I hear anything. Keep your fingers crossed!
But I'm already stressing over things like the color flowers I want. Do I want red, for Christmas (I hate red roses) or mixed, or Ivory......I knew I shouldn't have done this to myself!!

So, Minnie....did they look in her nose? I guess I thought if something were up there, they could see it??

And what's up with the cost of pet meds, anyway? There's no reason they should cost more than ours, but they do......

We have a pharmacy about 30 miles from us that only does pet meds, and they're cheaper than the vet. They also deliver (so cool!) and with each order comes a chew toy. It was almost fun when one of thedogs was sick. (I said almost)

THey looked up her nose with a little speculum (like they'd look in a kid's ear who has an ear infection) Couldn't get very far. He said there *could* be something up higher. Of course, now that she's home she's having less boogers and much more active. Although I kind of liked her less active b/c she wasn't chewing at my legs!

No kidding about the meds. Dh thinks it's wrong they can prescribe, dispense AND charge for the meds. Seems like they have a monopoly. They can charge whatever they want and schmucks like me will pay it. It was less painful to pay it than to have to deal with two kids whose dog just died.

Mary, DH & I don't drink wine, either. Margarita once in a while, and I've been known to have a touch of champagne once a year or so......
I hope to be able to make a grocery stop for my beloved Pepsi!!

So, yes.....drinkers and non-drinkers alike......all are welcome.
My only stipulation.....any one with little ones has to keep an eye on them...I don't want to be responsible for "toddler overboard"!
Vicki...that means you have to keep an eye on GaRry!!!!:jester:

And NO doggies chasing tennis balls, either! Doggies welcome....just not the tennis ball!

Oh, you said "newspaper." There for a minute I thought you said "newsletter" and I thought he'd make a GREAT addition to the monthly newsletter Mary puts out. I could keep him busy with questions, that's for sure! He's been a terrific help to me today as I've contemplated this bathroom mess!!!

Another idea is a call in show. Wouldn't even have to be an official "show." More like you giving me your home number and I'll call whenever I have a question. I'll *try* to remember the time zone difference. :)

Off for a while....guess I'll go fix some dinner. And try to not poison anyone.

Leslie, Cindy, ScubaDiver, and Virgil & "our" Frances (if it gets that far) please take care.......hoping and hoping that the storm will turn out!
