Last report they were doing well. My uncle has had his surgery for his leg and is actually able to go (in a wheelchair) to visit my aunt in the ICU. She is still in a drug induced coma, but they will probably wean her off of drugs starting today to see where things stand. Apparently she's moving and responding more appropriately but they can't fully assess her until she's clear of the sedation. She's on a ventilator but they did that as a precaution (better to have a ventilator hooked up and ready than to have an emergency situation and things need to be done FAST!)

Maggie is....well...alright, I guess. I'm not to the point you are with Harmony. If Maggie ran away tomorrow I'd be sad for the kids, but happy that my life was back to normal. Maybe someday I'll get to where you are She has gotten into a real biting stage. Almost scary at times because she charges at you, bites, sometimes growls, and then pulls away before you can grab her and tell her no. I've tried most of the suggested ways to stop biting....spray water in her face, shake a can of pennies, grab her muzzle and say no, grab her muzzle and don't let go until she looks away, leave the room, etc etc. Usually it happens when she's really keyed up and playing. Now we've had to not let her mouth us in ANY way to attempt to get her to learn that ANY mouth on us is bad. Of course, I still think this is harder than raising a child! On a good note, she did go SEVEN hours in her crate last night!! Mike got up at 5, she was asleep, but he took her out anyway. She peed a good long time. I think if we'd have waited for her to get up and bark, she probably wouldn't have been able to hold it. But we're getting there!

They are now evacuating the Florida Keys. Today the tourists are being sent out. Tomorrow it will be some of the residents. Some businesses are going to be closed tomorrow in Miami to prepard. Ivan is going to hit someone.

DS & DD are now starting to think another week without school would be okay. If that happens I may have them re-do my bedroom. Or maybe they can clean the garage.

It's funny to see how everyone left their plywood up. Stores have just spray painted OPEN on the plywood. No one wants to take it down and put it back up.

I guess no diving this weekend in the Keys!

Gail - don't worry about Hershey. i'll have a piece of chocolate for you (aren't I a good friend). Totally understand.

Diana - I looked at the projections just like you did. Poor Florida has been hit from the West, then the East, now it looks like it is coming straight from the South!

Linda - I can't wait to join in the double digit dance! Shoot - just found out I'll be in a meeting between 4-5 (5-6 Eastern). Guess I'll do my double digit dancing at home!

Hi everyone.
Boy do I feel bad for those folks in Florida. To think I would actually love to move there. The poor kids will be in school all year to make it up.

Last night went to DS back to school night. He is in for a big change this year. Hope he can buckle down and get organized.

I had my countdown set at noon for the time I thought we would be boarding the ship so I am already double digits!!

Gary- we want shirts. Do you want me to email you the info??

DH left this morning for 16 days, so its single mom time for me. Sometimes thats good, sometime not so good, we will see how it works out this time.

When I had a countdown, mine was set for noon, too. Figured I'd be boarding around then and that's when the party starts for me. Sail away is nice, but a bit harried for us because we're early dinner and we really WANT to be up top when we sail out of port, but we have to go get ready for dinner. Such a quandry.

Yeah, I know. Wouldn't want that to hit anyone, but my goodness, can FL take much more of this??

Of course, my dh still plans to move us to FL some day. Says he'd LOVE to be there for a hurricane (inland, of course) Would have rather been at WDW than on the cruise for Frances b/c there was no "action" on the cruise....they avoided the whole thing. Of course, this is the guy who hears tornado warnings for our county and he steps outside to check. Someday I'll have to go retrieve him from Oz!
