We are funny. I say things to my mom every once in a while, but not too much, since they aren't going on this cruise.
But I have finally been able to quit describing everyone here to Jay.....now I can use names and he knows who I'm talking about!
Although the Handsome Handyman might throw him a bit!


Yes.....work...I'm going....right now!

I'm not a retired anything, by the way. My majors were Elementary Ed and Special Ed, but other than a limited time teaching private special ed kids, I never really did teach. I should have majored in business. I've worked in almost all areas of banking, was a floral designer for a while (3 years) and then banking again, and now owning our business.
And I repair a mean toilet!

Well, you should have seen him in a cowboy hat! Really cute. That was back in the dating days. He still looks pretty good for a grandpa.

Wow. I got shivers thinking about a "mean toilet." I'm thinking that'd be a good Stephen King book.

I'm not "technically" retired. Just haven't been in any sort of nursing job since my 7 yr old was very, very young.

But, as you can see, when the reply window came up, I quoted Diana's post.

Well, just finished boarding up one neighbor, getting some sandbags for our house, and than on to the next house. We sure could use a Remodeler here! Kevin...where are you?

Since we are not diving in St. Maarten we have been looking for some options. This is a reply we received from Tri-Sport. It originally started as a biking trip, but has changed into a kayack trip. Anyone interested?


From Tri-Sport: If you would like to ride, I would recommend a tour since the best sightseeing stops along the way can be a bit difficult to find on your own. However if that is your preference, you are welcome to rent them on your own and we will provide you with a map and directions.

Keep in mind that the riding in St. Maarten is not easy, especially for your daughter, being only 10. Even the easier route has a few steep climbs and a bit of traffic, and our off road biking trails are technical single-track courses.

Perhaps you may consider kayaking as an option. The tour costs are the same ($49 per person) and since there are 4 of you we could arrange for a private tour so that you are not having to stick with a large group. I would recommend the Lagoon Tour which takes you through the Simpsonbay Lagoon to a small deserted island, Gros Ilet, where you can have a swim and then continues on to the small mangroves which is great for the kids as the guide will pick up and show them the Lagoon Jellyfish and Sea Cucumbers, etc. The kayaks we use are Sit-On-Top models which are very stable yet quicker and easier to manoeuvre than your typical rental kayak.

After the tour, an excellent beach is just a walk away as well as lunch and a bus stop for getting back to the Cruise Ship Terminal.

I don't know Jim, I just have this picture in my head of me and a kayak. You know how they turn over? What if it gets stuck in the "6 o'clock position"? And what if you get tired of paddling? There's no motor, am I right? It's kind of on my list of things I've never been tempted to try. DD doesn't believe that I used to regularly ski the black diamonds at Taos Ski Valley. Wonder why?

Man, he is CONNECTED! Internet in his truck?? Maybe he can mapquest his way to my house and do my bathroom!

Maybe if *I* got off thie computer I could do my *own* bathroom!

OK - and I thought I was addicted to the internet..... Hmmm - gotta figure out how to do that.... Cell service here in the hills is lagging behind the rest of the country. I think that what they do is remove the old equipment from the rest of the country and ship it here.....
