Try growing up as a Cornhusker! Thank goodness, that's one job I was never stupid enough to take.

I guess Tinksdad didn't check the board this morning. I'll tell him he's been paged.
So what will we do when we get back? There's a thread on the Community Board where some Oct. 2003 cruisers still keep in touch with each other.
Hello! DW had to give the heads up.Originally posted by ohiominnie

There, do I have your attention?
Last question about the drywall (I keep saying that and then give you more questions)
If I'm going to apply a thin layer of drywall mud to my bathroom.... I use the stuff called "joint compound," right? And, what's the best way to apply that for a good finish? Large putty knife? Trowel?
I won't get to it this weekend. Heading to Cleveland with the kids so Mike can study for boards, but early next week I want to tackle it.
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't forget to tell your kids about Tinkdancer's thread. So far Scuba Matt is the only one that found it, but some of us big kids have stopped in to help keep it going. If it's successful, it will be the only TEEN thread on the Meets board anyway. Those darn Panama cruisers don't have one!

Yes, the material you need to use is generically called joint compound. Its a USG product. We like the "Plus3" joint compound since its a bit fluffier and much easier to sand than the standard stuff. It's a bit more expensive, but WELL worth the few cents a box.
Mix well in a 5gallon bucket and apply with a 10" drywall knife (snip) You might have to coat a couple of times, depending on you "skill" with the tool
Have fun....don't worry about asking for anything. I'll be happy to help.
Handsome HandyMAN!

Ok, I'm sure I've seen USG. Will look for "Plus 3" My philosophy is "you get what you pay for." I'm willing to spend the extra $ to get something good. But a BOX??? It doesn't come premixed? Shucks!
I'll bet I've got one of those.....somewhere.
Skill? Don't know about that. I've mudded areas before, but never an ENTIRE room!
Thanks SOOOO much! You've been a wonderful resource!!
As for the handsome part....I'll make that judgment 12/18.![]()
Until then, I'm just going on Diana's word!
